  • Even though I arrived later then Linda probably would have liked, she was welcoming with my last minute, day of booking. The house was lovely, and her dog was friendly. I would recommend her house if you need somewhere to stay.

  • An Urban Sanctuary, indeed!

Linda was a very warm & welcoming host, we found it so pleasant to be in her and Stormy's company. The space was perfect for two people with a comfortable bed in a bright room. The accompanying bathroom was very nice as well.

We found Linda's residence to be very convenient to all of our Portland to-do's, all while maintaining a peaceful environment. The work she has done on her backyard garden is simply lovely. Linda's breakfast was also delicious, and she was kind enough to be thoughtful in creating a hot vegan one :)

We had a very comfortable stay! Thank you, Linda & Stormy!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Linda in April of 2014. Linda was a great host and very accommodating. She was always willing to help us out, give directions or suggestions on places to go. Breakfast was served every morning with home-made bread and coffee/tea. While the walk from the MAX might be daunting if you have a lot of luggage, it's fine if you are accustomed to walking. Mississippi Historic District is also within walking distance and is a great neighborhood main street with bars, restaurants, and shops. Overall, we had pretty good access to the rest of the city, had a great host, and the bed was very comfortable. We were happy campers!

  • Simone and I had a wonderful experience at Linda's Urban Sanctuary. She made us delicious breakfasts and even picked up baguette and croissants for us at a delicious french bakery! She made us feel home and triggered interesting conversations! The house, room and bathroom were very clean and luminous despite the rainy weather. We had a very pleasant stay and recommend greatly to stay with Linda.

  • Linda's home is the best of both worlds: 5 star hotel cleanliness and comfort with a personable, caring host. Her home is immaculately clean. Bed and linens the highest quality. She supplies the bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer (unusual for airBnB). Home baked bread with breakfast. And then you get the personal side. Linda is truly a caring host. She even volunteered to pick me up from the Max when I came in after dark. Highly recommended.

  • Linda was so great!!! She welcomed us outside with her dog right when we pulled up to check in. She was warm and made us feel at home. She gave us great recommendations on places to eat and things to do which made our last day in the city super easy. The breakfast and coffee in the morning were an amazing touch! Thanks for sharing your home with us and making our Portland experience memorable!

  • I had a lovely four day stay with Linda. She is a very welcoming and gracious host. The room was so clean and comfy as was the private bathroom. There were delicious breakfast options to start the day. Linda provides many nice touches that I appreciated--a nice t.v. in the room, a little heater if needed, bathrobe and slippers! The neighborhood was perfect for me. I hope to visit again--I would love to see the garden in the summer!

  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and I was delighted. The hospitality shown by Linda was just outstanding, couldn't have been better! The Urban Sanctuary was just as described. Everything was immaculate and very comfortable. We are planning a return visit in the fall.

I live in a lovely area near downtown Portland. I am a watercolor artist and enjoy shape and color and how it lights up my life. I have the world's best dog, Stormy, who is a standard poodle. I've lived in Canada and Germany as well as several places in the United States. I love to travel and look forward to meeting people from around the world. When the wall came down in Germany, I loved to travel into the eastern zone and listen to conversations of people in the cusp of transition. I recently saw the movie, The Butler, and loved it. Foreign movies, reading, especially those set in areas of the world that are unfamiliar to me, are my favorites. I love to cook, so come join me around my table and in my cozy home.
