The Space

Lovely newly built apartment as part of a refurbished period stately house. 2nd floor, only 3 apartments in the building so very peaceful. 5 minutes walk from Dublin's largest train station, Heuston station and 5 minutes walk to a light rail stop 'Luas' which goes directly into the city in 5 minutes - or you can walk in 15 minutes. Down the road from a great restaurant, and around the corner from Europe's largest park, the Phoenix park with a wonderful zoo, gardens and ample strolling or jogging space.
The apartment has a sitting room/kitchen with couch space for 3 or 4, a kitchen table that seats 4, lots of light and big windows. There's an airbed available if necessary here that sleeps one.
The main bedroom is spacious with a high ceiling and a comfortable double bed that sleeps two. The bathroom has a bath and an electric shower.
It's a unique apartment due to it's very convenient location - it takes just 20 minutes to reach from the Dublin airport bus 747 or by taxi. Bus is cheaper costing around €6 and the taxi would cost around €25. It's wonderful to be able to walk out of the apartment and to enjoy a stroll in the natural setting of Phoenix park and to go the other way and to be in Henry street city center or Temple bar in a few minutes!
Finally the hostess Lorna is super friendly and very welcoming, and the apartment is always cleaned before and after each guest guaranteeing clean sheets, floors, surfaces and air!

Guest Access

Entire apartment including double bedroom, bathroom with electric shower and bath, and kitchen/sitting room.

The Neighborhood

My neighbourhood is just a 5 minute walk from Dublin's central train station called Heuston station. It's also 5 minutes from Europe's largest public park, called the Phoenix park. And it's also 5 mins from the Luas Red Line (Dublin's light rail system) and around the corner from a lovely hotel called the Aishling hotel and a great restaurant/coffee shop called Woof.

  • Everything was fantastic! Lorna was in constant contact from the start, including the help on how to get to her home. She was there when we arrived, made some great suggestions for local spots to hit for food and fun then provided us with maps for our stay.
We couldn't have asked for a better host to open her beautiful home to us! We will definitely stay at her home in the future if it's available!

  • Lorna is a very friendly host, her appartment is great and located in an interesting area, with nice pubs (like Ryan's) and sight seeings (museum of modern art, national museum), approximately 30 minutes by walk from the very city centre.

    Response from Lorna:

Thanks very much for the review Bernadette. Sorry to hear the airbed wasn't comfy, it's just brand new as I had a single before but the feedback was that it wasn't big enough so I got the double...but think that's a great idea to also provide a 1 person mattress so will def look into that. Lovely to meet you and best of luck on your future airbnb adventures!

  • Lorna's apartment is well located for bus and train access and quite close to several eating locations (my favourite was Juno's) and was quite charming. The queen bed is very comfortable, but we had a bit of trouble with the air mattress and WiFi which I am sure Lorna will sort out in short order. We really appreciated that she took good care of we jet-lagged Canadians upon arrival. If you are looking for a charming place to stay, this place works.

  • Lorna was a great host with advice about local places and directions. The apartment was ideally situated near the Luas tram line and airport bus, attractive, comfortable and quiet with a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a sunny Dublin weekend and would definitely recommend Lorna and this apartment to others. Thanks Lorna!

  • My colleagues and I had a great time in Dublin. Staying in Lorna's apartment, we were able to easily tour the city on foot. The great Phoenix park is steps away, and so is Kilmainham Jail for some great historic tours. The neighbourhood is quiet, but there are great places to eat and drink and mingle with locals very few minutes away.

The apartment itself was clean and cozy and Lorna was super nice and hospitable. Overall, this has been a great experience, and if ever in Dublin again, I would not hesitate to book this place. Cheers!

  • My boyfriend and I just came back from a great weekend in Dublin! Loved the apartment was really clean and warm and had lots of light. Location was great only 5 minutes from pheonix park and a nice walk along the river to the city centre and temple bar took about 25 minutes..or ten mins on the tram..also is very close to the Guinness storehouse and heuston station! We got a taxi from airport to the apartment which cost 20 euros but would recommend getting the 747 bus from airport to heuston station as is only 6 euros each and right near the apartment! The bed was really comfortable and good shower..thanks Lorna for being so hospitable!

  • Lorna's apartment was lovely and very handy for Heuston train station and the Luas red line. We have a lovely weekend and Lorna had even left out flowers to help us celebrate Valentine's day!
I absolutely recommend staying here. Lorna's instructions were helpful and straightforward regarding getting keys etc.
    Very happy!

  • Lorna was very accommodating for our stay. Excellent value, best suited for singles or couples, although there is an extra blow up bed available. The apartment is very secure and relatively clean, with all necessary items supplied. This area is very accessible via Dublin's transport systems, great for those traveling throughout Ireland via train. Close to the Guinness factory, Jameson factory and Dublin Zoo. Some smaller restaurants and corner shops in the area. Temple Bar and higher end downtown areas a short tram ride or twenty minute walk. Thanks Lorna! All the best.

About
Hi there, I live in a sweet, light, peaceful space in Dublin city which is around the corner literally from the main train station in Dublin, Ireland which is called Heuston Station. Trains go from Heuston station to everywhere in Ireland. Also a couple of minutes walk away is a light rail called the Luas which takes around 5 minutes to get into central city Dublin. Also just a five minute walk is the wonderful Phoenix Park, the biggest public park and gardens in Europe! If you're looking for a safe, clean, central base to explore Dublin or Ireland, you'll sleep sweetly here. Safe journey! Lorna
