We have a very quiet private spot for you to relax in. Surrounded by trees and organic gardens. Owls are often heard hooting very nearby at night.
Come and enjoy a homey open space with a queen size bed, bathroom, small kitchen, an open living area with a large window seat facing south and a roomy treetop deck. We have organic vegetable gardens and you may find a basket of salad fixings at your door depending on what's in season.
There are walking and cross country ski trails nearby and more challenging hiking and skiing just a short drive away. Lake Iroquois, about a 5 minute drive, is a great spot for kayaking and walking. There is a public beach for swimming in the summer. The Audubon Center and Birds of Vermont Museum are also very close. The area is filled with small farms that offer veggies and apple and berry picking in season. Shelburne Farm and Museum is a 20 minute drive and a beautiful place to walk and see stunning buildings preserved from a former estate, all on the shores of Lake Champlain.
The area all around us offers many great restaurants and museums and just beautiful scenery to take in.
Burlington, Vermont's biggest city, is a quick drive away with lots to do and has many great restaurants to choose from. If you want to head south, Bristol and Middlebury are easy drives and both are interesting places to visit.
We have one small dog named Augie who loves people. He is a non shedding hypo-allergenic breed and will greet you upon arrival so please drive slowly up the driveway.
Private entrance and deck.
We had a wonderful experience at the Oak Tree Loft. Janice was a wonderful Host and made us feel right at home. We would definitely come back.
We stayed at the Oak Tree Loft and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay. Janice greeted us as we pulled into the driveway and was most friendly and hospitable. We loved our stay and would recommend anyone planning on visiting VT to stay at the Oak Tree Loft?
Janice was a fantastic host! We had an amazing weekend in Vermont while staying at her lovely home. She made us feel immediately comfortable and right at home. I would recommend her highly and would stay again next time I plan a trip up north. Thank you Janice!!
We were welcomed, quickly told all we needed to know, shown around the gorgeous place and then left on our own. I would recommend Janice (the host) and the Oak Tree Loft to anyone who had a reason to stay in Burlington.
We had the most wonderful time at the oak tree loft! My friend was getting married nearby, so my partner and I turned it into a five day vacation. Our flight was 4 hours delayed, but Janice greeted us warmly and helped us settle in, and made us feel extremely at home--she brought us veggies from the garden, which was above and beyond. The loft is sweet, with an excellent oak-y smell and every little thing you'd need (including a scrabble board for the one rainy day we had). We took Janice's suggestions for good hikes around and had the best hike I've ever been on (Camel's Hump!). We also went for a long drive and found some excellent swimming homes in the town of Warren. The only thing to know is if you're really tall (like over 5'10"), some areas of the loft might be a little low and you'll need to watch out--but it's no biggie. Highly recommended for vermont delightfulness!
Janice made us feel at home and was very helpful with local information. The loft was just as we had hoped based on the description. The rental was beautiful, newly renovated, private, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our time in the loft and surrounding area. It was a great little getaway spot.
Upon our arrival, we had a warm welcome from Janice and Augie, which is has friendly as described. We felt right at home in the open space of the loft. The private terrace was very appreciated. Janice even had a child guard gate which was great for my nearly 2 year old nephew. We also enjoyed the fact that the Oak Tree Loft is close to Burlington and many activities. Thanks again Janice!
