About This Listing
Come and stay in our 1940s style beach house in Collaroy. The room is clean, comfortable and has its own ensuite. The room is accessible by your own private entrance, so you can come and go as you please. View the sea from your room.
Room contains a Queen size bed with electric blanket, 1 x bedside table, 1 x tall boy set of 6 drawers and a floor standing up light. You'll also find a bar fridge, kettle, tea & coffee and some fresh fruit. When the garden is flowering there will be a vase of flowers to welcome you. The room also contains a tucked away hanging space, and an under the stairs storage area. The spacious ensuite has a toilet, vanity and shower. Two bath towels & two beach towels provided, also a hairdryer and the room sleeps one or two comfortably.
As well as your private room with ensuite, guests will have access to our third level lounge room with a large digital wall mounted TV, DVD player, CD player and balcony overlooking 180 degree view of the sea. Guests can also borrow books from our home library and DVDs from our collection. The sun room is a shared space and so is the laundry (front loader and a dryer and a clothes line in the back yard). The rest of the house is not accessible (ie kitchen) so this is best for guests who prefer to eat out or order take away.
Interaction with Guests
We are very social family of three but also respect that not all people want to talk/interact. We will respect the guests wishes. The way the house is structured allows for a maximum amount of guest privacy.
We are walking distance to the beach (Dee Why, Long Reef, Collaroy), Long Reef headland, and not too far from the beautiful Narrabeen Lake Reserve.
Sydney Buses stop at the end of our Street. The 155 bus takes you into Manly or the L85 takes you into the City. There is unlimited unrestricted street parking. The best was to get from the airport to our house is the train from airport to city, then a bus to Collaroy. If you have a bit of luggage I suggest hiring a car or catching the Airport Shuttle which will drop you at the door.

Other Things to Note
We have a very well behaved three year old child. But kids sometimes make noise, so we ask for your understanding.
No smoking, no pets, no swearing and no loud music. If something is bothering you, please tell us straight away so we can resolve it. We want you to have an enjoyable stay.

My experience at Collaroy Beach House was first class. Kath was friendly and welcoming and went out of her way to ensure that I was comfortable.
The accommodation was as advertised, clean and very comfortable. In fact, even it was better than I expected, notably the well stocked library of excellent books and DVDs. I made good use of this on my one rainy day.
We stayed with Kath and her charming family for 9 days in December 2014/January 2015. The location of the house is perfect, with a short walk down to the beautiful Collaroy beach. However, walking back up in the heat made the walk seem longer.
We spent quite a lot of time on the terrace with spectacular views over the sea and really appreciated it. The only problem we encountered, and which is not really Kath's fault but the construction of the house, is that the showerroom gets very humid and the towels hardly every dry in there.
We solved that by hanging our towels outside - easy enough in the bright sunshine and light breeze - but may be an issue for visitors at other times of year when the weather is different.
Spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend at Kath's Collaroy hideaway during what was a sad occasion: scattering the ashes of a dear friend taken by cancer at 54. Kath met us off the bus and drove us the short distance to our cosy accommodation comprising large double bedroom with private street entrance and use of a private lounge with tv, video, dvd, player nd the most comfortable lounge I have ever sat in. Only a short walk to Collaroy village for shops and restaurants and an even shorter walk to bus stop for Dee Why and Manly. Thoughtful presentation of tea/coffee/water and choc biscuits made our arrival that much sweeter. I would most heartily recommend Kath and her lovely home to any potential visitors to the Peninsula.
We had a wonderful time in kath's house. She picked us up and was always very helpful. Thanks for everything :-))
Always great to stay at Kath's place. Lovely room, great views from the lounge. Kath is a very pleasant host and we will be staying again.
We had a great time, even though it was short. We were attending a wedding locally and this served us perfectly. Clean and tidy, it was exactly as described. A great shower - which I really need when I travel!! Kath was a great hostess and did everything to make our stay pleasant. If we have an opportunity we'll stay there again. We did manage to eat a quick lunch on the top deck before the wedding, which has a spectacular view out to sea and up to Narrabeen.
Thanks Kath and family.
About the Host, Kath
I love living by the beach and taking my 3 year old for walks up to the Long Reef Headland. A regular gym go-er, I love good food, good wine and sunny days in the garden.
