The Space

First of all my boyfriend and I live together in that nice little apartment. Most of the furnitures are vintage pieces, which make my apartment cosy, unique and personnel.
Eventhough I offer you a sofa bed, it's as comfortable as a normal bed, where two people can easily sleep on.
The living room has a door to the hallway, which can be closed for more privacy. To the kitchen there's a small open walkthrough, which can be closed ba a curtain.

Guest Access

You can use the kitchen, dining room, bathroom and laundry room (coin laundry machine). Of course you have access to the WLAN.
I can provide pillows, bed sheets and towels.
If you need some space in the fridge, just let me know and you get your own compartment.
Parking is free on the street and usually there is always a spot open.

Interaction with Guests

If you want to, we can cook something or just drink a beer or wine together. Depending on my time, I maybe can show you around or at least provide you with some tips for sightseeing. I also have some maps and travel books (in english), which you can use to plan your day.

The Neighborhood

Kitsilano is great. It has a nice beach to hang out, you can walk from there to Granville Island, you can shop at West 4th Avenue or enjoy a beer in a pub on West Broadway.
If you want to see some more from Vancouver, it's easy to get to Downtown, UBC, Richmond, Burnaby or airport.
But you can also stay in the quiet neighborhood and relax by reading a book in a cafe, on the beach or at the apartment.

Getting around

To take the bus is the easiest way to get around. Bus 16 takes you right to Downtown or to Broadway, where bus 99 leaves every four minutes. That bus brings you to Granville, Commercial, Cambie or Main Street, where you can go shopping or take the Skytrain to move on to Metrotown or the airport. In the other direction the 99 takes you to Point Grey and UBC.
The best way to get here from the airport is to take the Skytrain to King Edward, hop off and hop on the bus 33. You have to get off at Arbutus and just have to walk one block to our place.

  • Hello, Stephanie and Sebastian are very welcoming persons who live in a very quiet and nice area close to the nicest beaches. I would definitely recommend to strat from there when you arrive to recover from jetlag and make sure you go and have a nice swim. On Arbutus, there is a nice tea shop on the way to Kid's beach and Geroko's beach is wonderful with a strong view on the city. Their apartment is cute, very Victorian British style with a nice atmosphere. The couch is comfortable. Stephanie really wants you to feel at home !! We had nice talks an dtime flied as always...

  • Comfortable, casual, clean, and just as advertised. Stephanie and Sebastian made arrival easy and offered just the right amount of assistance. Quite private for staying in a living room, if you'd like it to be, which is very restful. A charming place to stay, in addition to being in a great location for local walking and dining, Kits walking, and bus access to everything else. Highly recommended.

    Response from Stephanie:

Thank you for your nice review.
I'm sorry for the hassle with the key. Another guest once suggested it, because he felt uncomfortable not locking the door. So I thought, it should work. Obviously I never tried it myself. I really appreciate your advise. Thanks!

  • Stephanie and Sebastian have a beautiful home in a great part of the city. The space is clean and comfortable, and I found it quite easy to walk/bus to neighborhood cafes, stores, and markets. Stephanie has plenty of maps and books to help tour the city and both of them offered up some great recommendations for local spots to hit and skip. I felt welcome and comfortable and couldn't have asked for a better spot. In hindsight, I wished my boyfriend and I had stayed here for the duration of our visit rather than split our trip between here the places closer to downtown.

    Response from Stephanie:

Thank you for the nice review, Tiara.
Maybe we see each other at the next marathon here and can have dinner then. Don't hesitate to contact me.
I'll keep that in mind with the key. Other guests suggested it before, because they felt uncomfortable not locking the door. I'm sorry for that hassle!

  • My first choice for visiting Vancouver was getting a room in a motel. But as I was road-tripping from Portland, Oregon, and staying at friends, I thought, why not try and do the same, making friends in Vancouver?
I'm very glad I did and found Stephanie and Sebastien. It did feel like staying at a friend's place. Though I only stayed 4 nights, I wish I had stayed a lot more and discovered more of Vancouver. Stephanie and Sebastien are fun to go out with, to walk along the beach, or have dinner or beers right in the heart of beautiful Kitsilano. They were very helpful telling me which things I should see in Van with the limited time I had.

I already miss walking along the cherry blossom-lined Maple Street (which is next to the house) to the bus, the beach and downtown, turning that . Visiting Van has been a blast thanks to them, and I'm pretty sure I'll want to go back and see more.

  • Thank you Stephanie and Sebastian for sharing your very clean, small home with us. The sofa bed was very comfortable and the frequent bus services to the city, right outside, kept us dry. A very convenient and cozy solution for us.

  • I loved my stay in Vancouver, and so much of it was due to Stephanie's wonderful hospitality. She's a sweetheart, and so is Sebastian, and they were extremely helpful with ways to negotiate the city. The room in the house was charming, private, and comfortable, and The Kitsilano neighborhood is vibrant and exciting. By staying there, I learned a lot about living simply. Definitely a five-star experience. Thanks, y'all!

  • I was supposed to be in Stephanie's apartment for two days but finally I stayed one more night. It was a pleasure to meet her and Sebastian as well, and spend more time with both of them. They are very nice, helpful and friendly and we also met together again a few more times to have dinner. I strongly recommend their apartment if you are planning to visit Vancouver. They know how to make you feel like if you were at your own home.

  • Stephanie is very nice and welcoming host, this is really bang for your buck.
The room is really big, you get a big couch, and Netflix, very close to the bus stop, you are just 15 mins away from downtown.

Some of the things you say about Germans are true. I'm reliable, always on time and everything has to make sense to me. But thanks to my halfasian roots, I don't take everything to serious. I'm open minded, love to travel and like meeting new people. Till now I mainly travelled through Europe, Southeast Asia, some states in the US and now I live in Vancouver. Some of the greatest things I experienced is jetskiing in Vietnam, scubadiving in the Philippines, surfing in Bali and hospitality all over the world. Hopefully I can pass this hospitality on to my guests.
