About this listing
Want a real Brooklyn experience? Join me at my beautiful shared loft in prime East Williamsburg! Located between either the fifth or sixth stops on the L Train from Manhattan, we're only 15 minutes from the city!
*Please read the entire description before inquiring
The common space is huge, bright, with high ceilings and the room itself is a duplex with the full bed that sleeps two, lofted giving you total floor space away from the bed and lounge area. There are room heaters and fans for your comfort as well as air conditioning for the entire home. This is the larger of the guest rooms so more comfortable for longer stays.
The apartment is usually very calm and quiet, but the building itself is large, always changing and full of life with occasional parties and repairs so a completely quiet or smoke free night cannot be promised especially on weekends. Feel free to attend the parties, LGBTQ and 420 friendly.
There's also affordable laundry in the building with elevator access to the machines if needed.
There are 24 hour health food stores and coffee shops by both train stops, as well as one directly across the street from our building.
Feel free to help yourself to use of the living room, kitchen, dry storage, the fridge, and the two SHARED BnB shelves I've assigned that have:
1. Coffee, snacks, granola, pasta, etc.
2. First aid, band aids, iron, hairdryer, etc.
Interaction with Guests
To be clear this IS NOT an "Entire Home" listing. There other loft mates and a shared common area, kitchen and bathroom but your room is private. Depending on when you stay and due to renovations there are 3 or 4 rooms total.
Do not expect to be literally shown around the city by me. I am totally available to mingle, outgoing, and to have every guests, but am also extremely busy often with health appointments, keeping this place in order, and classes, so am always on the go, as I'm sure you will be too.
There are also my 2 very friendly female sister cats and a turtle who reside in the common area only.
As my house guests I'll provide you with clean towels, soap and fresh bedding. You're just expected to lock apartment door when coming and going as well as be respectful of our space and more permanent residents.
This fast growing community in Brooklyn's industrial district makes for an amazing new, creative, sharing environment. The variety of art, bars, cultures and food along the way make these lofts NY at it's best.
*With a 24 hour subway system getting around the city at any time is easy. Train or a cab is the best option from all Airports, but with notice and reasonable timing, I am also often available for half price airport drop offs/pick ups.
We're located between the Montrose and Morgan Stops on the L train, just 15 minutes from city center and main transfers
*There's free street parking
*Check out the guidebook which I add to often, as well as my other listing for more availability
Other Things to Note
*No need to contact a bunch of other hosts!
If your days are available just speak some English, have a profile picture, be between 20 and 45 years of age, and send me a quick greeting about you ad your stay. I'll get back to you ASAP.
Please don't just stay with me to save money. I love my apartment and goal is to continue to share it with people who are as well excited about the space and the experience.
*Unless you've read this post and said " YES! This sounds perfect! What a cool experience!" this environment is NOT ideal for many older people and definitely not appropriate for children. Laid back, flexible, adventurers are ideal. If you like things like camping and hostels, you'll love it here.
*I don't have a monthly price listed because my nightly pricing is already very low, already totaling to less than most, and I love to give special offers for longer stays! I'll be sure to offer it when available for more than a couple of weeks so no need to ask, just select your dates and inquire for any length of time
*Lock door when coming and going
*DO NOT let cats in room
*Smoke in hallway with ashtray or outside
**Please make sure to read the entire post and details in house manual before arriving
It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Kevonne. Not only is she extremely kind and personable, she also knows all there is to know about the neighbourhood since she is a long-term resident. We very much enjoyed spending time with her, and we are grateful for her being so helpful and accommodating. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with the sweetest cats I've ever met. I would recommend Kevonne's place to anybody who wants to enjoy a real Bushwick experience.
On a passé un très bon séjour à New-York, très chaud mais supportable!
Rien ne manquait chez notre hôte et la proximité avec le métro permet une accessibilité rapide au centre ville
I don't like to write bad reviews, but now I have to make an exception.
My friend and I felt not welcoming by Kevonne at all. We arrived late at night our first day, and we had to wait on the street in front of her door for 40 minutes. Although we set up a time with her. She didn't even apologize after she let us in, with the excuse that she slept.
The only positive thing about her, is that she let me stay one extra night without booking it over Airbnb.
The apartment does not look as shown on the picture. There are no pictures of the actual room where we had to sleep. The room doesn't have any windows or ventilation possibilities. The "bed" is a mattress on the floor. (Bedbugs!!)
As a personal opinion, the loft was not clean. It stank and was noisy during the night.
But the worst thing was the bedbugs. I woke up with bites all over my body! Also, my sunglasses were lost/stolen there.
The neighborhood was hostile, the way from the subway to the house was very dark and we felt insecure walking there alone.
Williamsburg as a neighborhood is nice though.
Wow. I'm really sorry for your experience.
In response, I did not realize you had to wait outside for 40 minutes. I was asleep because it was 2am, but saw that I only missed one call and came right out within a few minutes. I thought sure I apologized but maybe not, there is often sometimes language barriers which often makes clear communication difficult.
There are temporary structures and storage in the living room but not at all limiting the shared areas. The building is always changing and my place is not exception since I do not own my apartment. And I'm sorry but there ARE AT LEAST 3 CLEAR PICTURES of both of the rooms listed on either post so you must have over looked them.
I am extremely sorry about the bed bugs but you did not mention them to me AT ALL during your stay so I did not notice them in a certain appliance until cleaning after you left. They are an epidemic and travel with guests for other places but I have fully taken care of the problem and will continue to to the best of my ability for future guests to the best of my ability.
You were more than welcomed to be here and I'm sorry you felt otherwise but again, you expressed no concerns to me, not one. I would've tried my best to make it more pleasant. With such a bad experience I'm surprised now by your extra nights stay but definitely would not have made you pay for it had I known you apparently hated it here. I can offer reimbursement for the last night if you notify me. Thanks for coming
The space is clean. Kevonne is accommodating. It is few minutes walk from the subway. If you are on a budget, you should consider this space.
