Guest room in my awesome apartment on the Lower East Side. Features exposed brick, modern kitchen, outdoor space, and is located five minute's walk from the subway, it is the perfect place to get a feel for New York City, while saving on hotels!

The Space

Located in the heart of Manhattan's iconic Lower East Side, this private bedroom features outdoor space (fire escape) with a courtyard view as well as a large closet and lots of room to stretch out. It shares a large kitchen/common room (equipped with stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, full refrigerator and freezer, as well as a large table (4+seats) for eating and meeting. Bedroom has keyed entry for added privacy and comfort. There is coin-operated laundry on the floor, which is shared with other tenants. The building is a brick walk-up embodying the classic style of early 20th Century New York City architecture.

The guy you'll be sharing the common areas with (me) is very laid-back, knowledgeable about New York (I've spent five years here working in the real estate industry), friendly, and not fussy about small things and minor inconveniences. I'm not home much, but I love having guests and helping people get a foothold in NYC! I do everything I can to make my guests feel at home, and encourage them to ask me questions and let me know what they need. I'll provide you with clean sheets, towels, a hair dryer, wireless internet, and all the essentials during your visit!

Just a few short blocks from the F, M, J and Z trains, public transportation will quickly have you all over Manhattan. Within 15 minutes, you can be on Wall St., Times Square, Union Square, 34th St, The South Street Seaport, City Hall, China Town, and any number of other location in Manhattan, be it by subway, taxicab, any one of the conveniently accessible bus lines servicing the area, or foot!

If you manage to get bored of all Manhattan has to offer, you can walk over the Williamsburg Bridge to Brooklyn's hottest scene. The bridge, just a two minute walk from your front door, was completed in 1903 and was the second of three connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn. It is second only to the Brooklyn Bridge in its history and iconography. The neighborhood it lands in offers many of New York City's premier independent arts venues and most popular bars and restaurants. If such things hold your interest, you may not want to cross the bridge, however . . .

The Lower East Side of Manhattan is like no other place on Earth. At one point the most densely populated area in the world (on par with modern-day Calcutta and Hong Kong), the neighborhood hosted waves of immigrants from the 1900s onward. Attractions such as the nearby Tenement Museum document this rich history and its transition into the future, which is marked by fine art galleries, museums, performance venues, designer boutiques, gourmet restaurants, and pubs and nightclubs of every variety! • We loved staying at Joshua's place, he (email hidden) and was welcoming when we arrived- telling us of the good places to go. Really good location, so many bars and places to eat, plus a lovely park nearby. Apartment clean and nicely decorated.

  • Brief but enjoyable stay in a very clean, comfortable and friendly apartment (email hidden).

  • Josh was as a great a host as the previous reviews indicated, if not (website hidden) was clean, welcoming, and surprisingly spacious for NYC. Genuinely steps from the subway, amazing boutique shopping in Nolita & SoHo, & delicious food in Little Italy. (Think transportation savings).

Josh gave great tips on food (shawarma/falafel), was always willing to share some of his, and shared tips on nearby places to check out/streets to walk on. If there was ever a question or concern Josh was always there ready to help, which made me feel very safe.

I would say Josh embodies the exact host that AirBnB founders envisioned: a community builder. Staying with Josh isn't just about providing you with a bed but also ensuring you have an experience in NYC. Had an excellent time, would recommend, and hope to return on future NYC trips.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Prime Lower East Side NYC, our host Joshua was quite friendly, his clean room and apartment are clean and convenient, as well as their location. Joshua helped us feeling at home in the Big Apple, especially while late arrival. I will recommand him and his room.

  • Great Host, nothing to complain about. The area especially i liked a lot. Not in the super middle of Manhatten, but very well placed in the city. Good possibilities to have a drink in bar or have some food. Great location!

About
I'm a business guy in my mid-twenties living in Manhattan, born and raised in Los Angeles. I've driven across the US twice and have been to most of the states in The Union. I'm very easy to please and don't fuss over minor details when I have guests. All I care about is that you not make a big mess or disturb the neighbors. I love a good conversation and follow the news very closely. It's great talking about the world with people, but I understand not everyone is interested. It's very seldom that I watch television, but I do enjoy a good movie, book, or video game when I have the time. I've been working and living on and around the Lower East Side for years, so I know lots of fun places to go and things to do and am more than happy to show my guests a good time, if they have the time! I don't normally spend much time at home, so you probably won't see too much of me unless we make plans together. My priority is ensuring your comfort, so don't hesitate to ask questions when we meet!
