This industrial-cozy 1BR/1 Bath is an open layout, offering guests the feel of a loft with the atmosphere of a home.
**Please Note: the current layout is different than pictured but all furniture is the same. A vintage leather chesterfield and a linen down-filled sofa welcome guests in the front room along with a handmade bar that shelves a 42 inch internet TV (complete with Netflix + Hulu + basic cable).
The adjacent, well-stocked kitchen offers stainless steel appliances including microwave, full range gas stove/oven, fridge and dishwasher. There is a Vitamix available for use as well.
The spacious bathroom comes complete with a refinished claw foot tub/shower combo and dual flush toilet. Pendelton & Restoration Hardware towels are provided for use.
Just past the bathroom is the dining/bedroom which shares a space. There are floor to ceiling curtains which can be drawn to close off the bed area for privacy.
A large rustic dining table that seats 8 shares the room with a king sized upholstered sleigh bed and a memory foam topped mattress (medium firm) with fine linen sheets + a linen duvet made for dreams.

Interaction with Guests
Initial welcome at the space to walk through and hand off keys and explain some features. I am available for any questions or suggestions through text, email or Airbnb - whichever communication is preferred.
Located in the heart of the Clinton/Division Neighborhood, you are within blocks of innumerable dining and bar spots that you'll read about in almost every Portland Neighborhood guide. Stay here and you won't miss out on anything that Portland has to offer.
On-street parking is almost always available on this block or one block over. The #4 bus picks up a few yards away, on Division Street and will get you downtown to the Pearl District within 15 minutes, dropping you off right in front of the infamous Powell's Bookstore! You don't need a car to stay here, at all.
Other Things to Note
The bathroom does have an "open wall" that is curtained off by IKEA wall panels on the bedroom side. So while it is closed off it is not as private as most bathrooms. Please see photos for accurate representation.
No smoking (anything) / No pets
If you are coming to Portland to eat (which, let's face it, you probably are), this is definitively THE place to stay. The apartment is located only steps from Ava Gene's, Pok Pok, Bollywood Theatre, Salt and Straw and many more Portland gems. The apartment is super spacious and comfortable, and Mel was a responsive and totally accommodating host. I would totally stay here the next time I visit PDX!
Our host, Mel, was friendly, respectful and our communications were easy and timely. I hope we have the opportunity to stay at her place again. We were familiar with the neighborhood and thought it might be a bit noisy, so close to a hopping little corner, but it really was convenient, quiet when it needed to be and an all around great time. The set-up is a bit unconventional, but it's Portland ! We were able to have a great little dinner/card party and you could too! Very comfortable bed, great shower and laundry!
Mel's place is wonderful: an excellent location, gorgeous bed, thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and convenient. Mel was very helpful and responsive to our questions. A perfect base to explore Portland from.
The apartment is beautiful. The bed is super comfortable. The shower is hot and strong. The location is ideal for going anywhere in Portland. And the host was sweet and helpful.
Mel's place was well located, we loved the neighborhood - great restaurants both for breakfast and dinner - all within walking distance. The kitchen was well stocked and would be great if you wanted to prepare meals. Wifi was great, bed was big and comfortable, all good things!
Loved loved loved this place! Great design, awesome location, perfect communication with Mel. We didn't get the chance to meet her personally but she was a great host with an adorable and unique listing. I would stay here again!
Mel's place is the best! I think I texted her daily to tell her how much I was enjoying it. She has fantastic style - simple, clean, warm and creative. She's utilized the space in a very unique way. I had 4 of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time - the bed was insanely comfortable. Most importantly, Mel is a wonderful hostess. She was super easy to communicate with during booking and was full of local knowledge as needed during my stay. I will be back to Portland regularly and plan to stay at Mel's whenever possible.

I'm a graphic designer who owns a small studio with my husband in Portland. We are east coast transplants and are here to stay. We look forward to hosting you in the most popular neighborhood in Southeast and hope you'll enjoy having it all steps away from our front door.
