Welcome to our Amish-built cabin, completed in December 2016, and minutes from Mt. Desert Island, the location of Acadia NP. The interior is entirely knotty pine (floors, walls, ceilings); there is a large screened porch. The house sits on 3 secluded acres, 250 feet from the road; a small stream runs through the property. Deer and wild turkeys are common, and you can sometimes hear the loons on beautiful Leonard Lake. Ellsworth abounds in interesting restaurants and summer activities.

Susan is a wonderful host who thinks of all the little and big things that are important when staying in a unfamiliar area, and a house that is not your own. We went to Maine 15 years ago for our Honeymoon, and returned 15 years later for our anniversary. Susan had a beautiful…

This cabin was perfect for our family vacation. Susan was great and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. She was super responsive to all our questions. The beds were so comfortable it felt like I was home! We would definitely come back to this beautiful cabin again!

Thanks for your very nice review! Come back next year and pick blueberries on the property! By the way, there was a communal family of turkeys crossing the driveway yesterday--several hens and many chicks--lots of peeping!

Susan's private cabin was much more than we expected. It was the ideal spot for my wife and I to spend our Honeymoon. Not only was there a gift basket when we arrived, but a thoughtful handwritten note set the tone for the theme that week. The cabin itself was cozy and…

We had nothing but positive experiences staying in this cabin among the wildflowers! When we arrived, there were flowers on the table, a basket of snacks, and the place was immaculate. Absolutely everything was neat and clean - bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen, you name it! There…

Susan was a great host. She came by our first night and gave us instructions for the cabin and pointers of where to go in Acadia and good local places to eat. She was very helpful and friendly. Afterwards, she did not come into the cabin again. She was available by text if we…

Thanks for your very nice review, Dave. Yes, it has been a remarkably buggy summer all over the Downeast area--very late and wet spring. Come back another year in August and the little beasts will likely be gone!

A cute cottage close to Acadia! We stayed here as a family of four, and had plenty of room. The cottage is well equipped and is super clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet (the cottage sits on 3 acres).

Thanks for your nice review, Eero. I forgot to ask you if you took the Winter Harbor ferry to Bar Harbor, and, if so, how did you like it?

We were really pleased with our stay in Susan's cabin! I agree with the other visitor reviews about Susan's hospitality. I will add that a heavy storm knocked out the Wifi on our first day in the cabin, and Susan responded to my text almost immediately. She even offered to…

Hi Bryan, Thank you for the very nice, and lengthy, review! I'm really happy that you and your family had such a good time--I like to think that your girls were imprinted with fabulous memories of Maine and the cabin, and that these memories will stay with them for a long time…
