Bright, Colourful and charming house, 2-minutes walk to the beach
Our house is bright and spacious, filled with colour and sunlight and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The house is located in a very special spot of the Island Ilhabela in a calm and quiet area, only 50 meters from the beach (Armação Beach). It was recently completely remodeled and we added air conditioning in all 4 bedrooms
The whole social area communicates, and, from the Veranda, living room and the garden there is a lovely view of the Ocean.
The house has 4 bedrooms (which accommodate up to 10 people) and 3 complete bathrooms, one of them with a brand new massage bathtube.
The kitchen opens to the living and dining room and to a large terrace (the best part of the house, in our view!), where we stay most of the time. The terrace is where we enjoy the sunset, read or take a nap in one of the hammocks. It is also where we prepare barbecues and eat on our outside mosaic table, made by the artists of the family.
There is a large and well kept tropical garden surrounding the whole house. In the backyard we have some herbs, like basil, parsley and chive and some fruit trees such as mangoes, bananas, guavas, passion fruit, atemoya, ...
The house is very well kept and clean, a cleaning lady and a gardener come twice a week.
Ilhabela (Portuguese for "Beautiful Island") is an Island, home to some 25.000 people. 85% of its 130 square miles are part of a National Rain Forest Reserve, which means the Island's nature is protected and virtually untouched. It is one of the best preserved rain forest parks in Brazil, with dozens of waterfalls and sandy beaches.
Our house faces the continent, in a beach of very calm waters and fast winds. It is perfect for children and water sports lovers. Just 50 meters from our house you will find BL3, a center for maritym sports, where you can rent saling boats and stand-up paddles. At BL3 you can also have lessons for sailing, windsurfing, kyte surfing, etc.
There are several wild and deserted beaches around the island, some can be reached by car, and some can be reached only by boat (there are tourist agencies spread around the Island where one can join a day excursion to one of those beaches).
There are some small markets and restaurants in walking distance but the main village is only 5 km (3 miles) from our house. The main village, called "Vila", is full of little charming shops and delicious restaurants.
There´s a bus stop right in front of our house that will take you directly to "Vila" in a 20 minutes ride and to other interesting spots of the Island. The bus comes every 30 minutes from 6am to midnight.
In our house, we have a Laser class sailing boat (13 ft long) you can borrow.
Other Things to Note
We are builing a new deck and swimming pool, right in front of the house. In August 2014 the pool will be open!
We would appreciate if don't smoke inside the house.
Treat it as if it was your own and enjoy!
Casa muito agradável. Ótima estrutura e bem equipada. Vista linda. Perto da praia. Anfitriões muito simpáticos e de fácil contato.
Prior to our arrival, Daniela was always avaiable to give us all the information we needed. The house was great, just like we expected. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and we did that quite a lot. It was incredibly hot and the air conditioning saved our nights and naps. The garden has a refreshing shower.
The house is really close to Armacao Beach (across the street) and Jabaquara (7km), our favorite one.
We had a great experience and I highly recommend Lovely house in Ilhabela.
The house is great, quiet, perfect with little kids (safe), and nicely arranged. Who do like fishes and generally marine atmosphere will love this house ! It is located very next to a sailing school, and the beach is fine for any kind of activities like badminton, sailing or laying on the sand ! I certainly will come back when I can. Daniela and her father are lovely people. There is a laser (sailing boat) who could be used by experienced people that are not afraid of capsizing and know how to at in such case ( the wind can blow quite strongly at the middle of the straight betewen the island and the continent. We loves our stay there.
