About this listing
"9th Heaven" looks more like a bird's nest facing the sunrise every morning.
This studio is a very special house. It is located in the historical neighborhood of Athens named Dourgouti which has been renovated right before the 2004 Olympic Games. The view from up there is absolutely amazing and all transportation leading to the city center (metro, tram and buses) is less than 5 min. walk away each.
The studio looks at Mt. Hymettos (Imittos), the "crazy-man" as the old Athenians used to call it. The morning sun coming up from this mountain shines directly in the apartment making it super bright during the morning hours. You will stand above all the other buildings and be able to enjoy a full 180 degrees view of the eastern part of Athens. During summer you will appreciate the wind up there even better, I am sure.
The interior is a fairly equipped studio, clean and minimal. You can have your coffee from the machine or use the cooker to make a nice Greek coffee (it will be there - I 'll show you how). There is also a small fridge to keep things fresh and cold. The double bed uses a natural mattress definitely enough to accommodate two people. There is also another folding bed available for groups of 3.
I would like to kindly ask you - before making an inquiry or a reservation request - to provide your incoming and outgoing flight (or other) details. It is important to know your plans before answering regarding the availability and in order to estimate your arrival and departure times respectively.
You have access to everything in the house.
In order to heat water for taking a bath you will need to turn the boiler on for 15 minutes, then TURN IT OFF and take your bath. Don't leave the boiler on for more than 15 minutes and always check if it is in the OFF position before leaving the house.

Interaction with guests
At the back of the front door, you will find a paper with important information regarding your stay and my contact details. Smoking and pets are allowed.
The neighborhood has two sides. During working hours it is a place where many big companies are located, like Intercontinental Hotel, National Bank of Greece, Onassis Cultural Center etc. so you can see people coming and going to their offices or taking a lunch break. In the afternoon it is transformed in a very quiet residential area with kids playing out in the park and old people sitting at the benches playing cards.
I have prepared a Guidebook so that you can find everything around the house easily. I am also available 24/7 to answer all your questions.
You can link to metro, tram, busses, trolleys, all in less than 5 minutes walk. There is a supermarket, grocery, drugstore, fast food restaurants etc in even less distance. It will take you 10 minutes to get to Syntagma Sq. and start wandering in the city.
The names of the all possible stations that you will use are: Tram "Kasomouli" or Metro "Neos Kosmos" or Bus/Trolley "Gefyra". Please check on your own to verify the proximity of those stations to all the main attractions. Going downtown is so easy and close that you might choose to walk through Filopappou Hill to avoid the city fuzz and enjoy an alternative route.
The building is big compared to the average block you will see in Athens. All residents are people like you and me, so respect and politeness is a mutual thing in here.
