About this listing
My bright and sunny apartment with large north-facing balcony feels modern and comfortable. It's in the heart of Bondi Beach with tranquil garden views and minimal noise. The apartment is well decorated and fully equipped. Public transport out front.
The apartment is right in the middle of Bondi Beach centrally located (without the noise) to all the restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets, shopping and beaches. It's north facing creating a bright and airy living space. From the large balcony there are garden views and sun most of the day until around 4pm. The kitchen is bright, modern and well-equipped. Both the bathroom and bedrooms have been recently redecorated, they are generous in size and freshly painted.
Help yourself to any and all appliances. There is a coffee machine, blender, toaster and kettle along with basics like cereals, milk, teas, oils, herbs and spices.
There is always a shelf free in the pantry and fridge and there's a freezer and a microwave and a barbecue and a washing machine and an iron and a bathtub and a hairdryer. Help yourself to any of those.
I have tv and wifi internet and a full bookshelf you will have full access to.
Fresh 1000 thread count linen, towels and facecloth are provided along with nice big beach towels if you're heading down there. There's a beginners surfboard available and i can give surf lessons too for a small fee.
Interaction with Guests
I'm a wine consultant and i'll be at work most of the weekdays and some weekends. I have local knowledge of the area and i'm more than happy to point you in the right direction for whatever you need.
I can also customize a wine tasting for you please just let me know.
It's a really nice apartment close to everything you will need and in a wonderful area. It's like a bird sanctuary in the trees surrounding the apartment. It's become quite a spectacle with parrots, cockatoos and occasionally kookaburras. There are 2 (sometimes more) local but wild cockatoos (Hank & Archibald) that like to hang around and you can feed them from your hand on the balcony. Apart from that i have no pets.
There are so many things you should experience locally and in the surrounding area to try list them all would be foolish. Just ask when you're here it would be my pleasure.
50 metres from the front door there's a bus stop and a short ride to Sydney Subway. Paid parking is available out the front or free parking in surrounding streets. Taxis are frequent in the area.
Other Things to Note
Of course you will have your own set of keys.
I have (website hidden) on my laptop and mobile if you want to make international phone calls.
For CHRISTMAS week and NYE week I require at least a fourteen day booking.
If this criteria is not met I will decline the booking, these are pretty much the only bookings I decline.
Je parle Francais aussi..
poco Espanol tambien..

Calvin put us up at really short notice which was great. Seemed like a top bloke and the apartment was as described and in a great location!
The apartment is as described. It is close enough to the restaurant area and the beach without being affected by the noise.
I was completely at ease in the place, and Calvin was happy to make suggestions on what to do and see. I would definitely stay here again.
Calvin is a wonderful host, with a stunning apartment close to everything in Bondi. Perfect for two girls traveling from America. We felt very safe there and he gave us plenty of info to get around. Plus he's an amazing person to just sit and talk with over a glass of wine as he's an avid traveler.
He's very accommodating, had all the necessities, as if we were in a hotel. He even let me borrow his surf board to take the beach which is literally right down the street.
The apartment is beautiful decorated. Cozy and clean, and very quiet at night. No crazy bird noises or partying from bars nearby. Probably the best nights of sleep we have had since we'd been traveling. Not to mention the most comfortable bed, which are very hard to come by in Aussie rentals and hotels.
We wish we could have stayed longer and definitely will return if we ever make it back to Sydney.
Great room, very comfortable bed and nice location if you want to enjoy the beautiful area of Bondi Beach. The access to transportation was so easy. The bus stop is very close (corner). Calvin was great giving me some suggestions to go around the city, one of them was taking the ferry to see the spectacular Opera house instead of taking the bus. He also helped me to solve some tecnical issues with my laptop. Thanks Calvin
Calvin's place is as featured on AirBnB: spacious, very comfortable bed, quick access to Bondi beach and the bus stops. It was raining heavily in Sydney and it made me much more grateful for the excellent accommodations. Calvin truly goes out of his way to make sure his guests are comfortable. He's got an incredible wealth of travel adventures that was very insightful I would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm around in Sydney.
What a gorgeous apartment! The location in Bondi is a short walk to everything you could need. Cafe's, shops and the beach are all within a couple of minutes. The room was spotless and has a super comfy bed!
Calvin was a fantastic host, and made us feel welcome and super relaxed. He has great local knowledge and provided us with suggestions on where to eat and things to do.
Thanks for making our first airbnb experience awesome!
Wow! This was my first airbnb experience and what a superb experience it turned out to be. The house is quiet, stylishly appointed and some great restaurants are just a block away from the house. Calvin is a great guy and if airbnb is a success today then it's because of people like Calvin. I would prefer to call him a friend instead of a host, and he is one of the most informative guys you will ever find if you enjoy traveling and like wine. Thanks Calvin..
About the Host, Calvin
I'm a Bondi Beach local who has been living here for 10+ years. I enjoy surfing, music, reading, travelling, my work (wine consultant), cycling, swimming, movies and meeting people to name a few. I've travelled extensively and lived in many places around the world but Bondi is where I call home.. for now ;)
I'm pretty relaxed really and don't take myself too seriously. I like meeting new people and listening to their stories over a glass of wine or a meal or coffee or even over a kinder surprise. I'm a bit outdoorsy, well, at least I used to be now I just think tents are for savages. I do like the sun though, which is outdoorsy, even when it attacks me and I end up with a gleaming bonce.
I really liked that movie "Laurence Anyways" amazing soundtrack too.
Foreign Films I have a bit of a soft spot for.
Charles Bukowski favourite writer
Southpark favourite show
My mothers lamb shanks favourite food....still !
As a host I'll always respect your privacy, I'm not a close talker and I know when to shutup. I'll be at work a little bit but occasionally I can work from home which I generally do in my room so you'll have the place to yourself a lot.
I genuinely get along with anyone
