Our hosts there were great and are nearby to assist us with bicycles and snorkels and showed us where to find some awesome adventure. Not to mention going the extra mile and bringing us fresh pipa!! :-)

We absolutely loved to stay at this place and it's been the family favourite in our 3 weeks of vacation across Costa Rica! The location can't be more perfect as you are secluded away of touristic crowds but literally in front the most beautiful beach I've ever seen! The house is just divine and you feel at home since you can tell everything is done to the last detail with lots of love. Sue (the house carer who lives next door) is adorable and incredibly helpful! I just hope to be back at such an amazing place some time in the future! We even had a sloth in the garden! Just go there if you believe in Paradise!

We really enjoyed staying here, the house is beautiful, the beach right in front of it and howler monkeys gave us a full-day show. You can rent bikes and snorkel equipment from here too and go to check the reef! Relaxing place, 100% recommended.

Exactly what I was hoping for based on the views and the photos. Everything was perfect! Traveled with my boyfriend and my two daughters (age 18 and 15). It was for my oldest's high school graduation gift. When we arrived by a rental car from San Jose (4 hr. dive at night no traffic) we were greeted by two sloths hanging over our car in the tree. We were in awe! Then the leaf cutter working in the yard was amazing! The house was great. Being the rainy season the waves were big and hearing them crash at night was so soothing. Evenings were cool enough to use a small blanket. We were able to keep the bugs way quite well since we had sprayed our clothes with permethrin and brought a travel size bottle of Repels Natural Lemon Eucalyptus spray for legs and arms. We didn't have any problems. The house was very clean and we made breakfast every morning. The café (soda) on the street was soooo good. Try the taco pollo (chicken tacos). Alvaro the gardener works there at times and he is super kind. Little geko minds his own business on the ceiling of the bathroom. I said hello to "lil lizard" each evening, but he was gone by morning. Woke up to birds each morning, howler monkeys (apparently very close) on morning, but an annoying gray woodrail (bird) on one morning. Blue Morpho and hummingbirds in the BEAUTIFUL garden/yard. Terra-adventures in Puerto Viejo on the left side when heading north were wonderful! Took 2 trips through them (Jungle and white water rafting). ABSOLUTELY would go back to Juan's place. Hope you also enjoy your Costa Rica trip as much as we did. It was the most adventurous and relaxing trip! Oh, and the 4 of us fought over who would get he hammocks first. We had to buy one take back to Maryland with us. :)

Me and my family loved this house! Although the bugs can take some getting used too, they really are not that bad. Just keep lights off at night and doors closed and you will be good. Overall, the house is in a beautiful location. Very relaxing and secluded. The beach is literally a 30 second walk from the house. The water is warm and crystal clear at the beach and very private. The housekeeper, who lives in a house behind the main house, is very friendly, respectful, and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet location with not a ton of tourist, this is the place. By the way, I highly recommend visiting the Jaguar Rescue Center during your visit. It is not far from this location and is totally worth your money for a tour.
