Interaction with Guests
On the premises of the Boquete Canyon Village community, there is a security guard at the gate, and the manager of the house, who lives a few houses further up will be readily available in case you have any questions.
The gated resort community of Boquete Canyon Village is situated just minutes from the main David-Boquete highway down the paved Caldera road, just 25 km north of David and 12 km south of Boquete. This area in the highlands of Boquete offers a natural environment of extraordinary beauty. The climate is very pleasant, never too hot, like on the coast, never too cool, like it often is in Boquete. The average temperatures run between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. From Boquete Canyon Village you can make beautiful hikes, and in the area are several possibilities for swimming in pools and in nature at about 15 minutes driving. The Boquete area offers various outings to orchid gardens, coffee farms, hikes in the natural parks, fine dining, as well as a renowned language school for learning Spanish (Habla Ya), and lots of pubs, restaurants, shops and so on.
For your stay at Boquete Canyon Village a car is recommended.
Other Things to Note
There is ample parking space in the front.
$2700 per month (plus Airbnb booking fee) is based on an occupancy of two people in one bedroom. During you stay the house is all yours, and you don't share it with others. For larger groups, and longer stays please ask for a special price!
Please note the following:
Please treat the house like your own. Things break, that's life. Just please replace what you break or lose with a similar item, or leave a fair payment before you leave. I love animals, but as a lot of people have allergies, I cannot allow any pets in the house. The house is non smoking area. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside, in such a manner that the smoke cannot travel in. Do not leave any cigaret buds in the garden, and be careful in the dry season not to start a bush fire!
Like other Latin American countries, Panama struggles with water and electricity outages from time to time. We have done everything in our power to prevent little disasters to happen. But please keep in mind that Panama is Panama and things don't always go or work the way we're used to. Appliances are of less quality (even if they have well known brand names), things stop functioning or break down just like that.
If that happens we will send for a technician immediately, but may not be able to fix the problem during your stay. Even if other landlords do not warn you about these possible setbacks, be aware that every home owner in Panama has to deal with these issues! To avoid any problems we equipped the house with large solar panels and a powerful generator, to keep the lights, the fridge and a few fans working, and I recently had a new 8000 liter water tank installed, so you will still be able to shower and use the bathrooms, up to 7 days. The water is potable thanks to the UV system. If you wish to compare with other holiday homes in Panama, check if they provide back-up electricity and water supply!
For stays longer than one month the filling up of the gas tanks needed for cooking and the smaller ones for the barbecue are for the tenants' expense. The caretaker will help you order gas for you.
All I can say is WOW, this is a great place to explore the area from. I wish my house was as nice as this one, it's well worth Antoine's asking price. Your contact in the area is right next door, and they made us feel right at home. The house is just a 15 minute drive from Boquete and all it has to offer. I definately recommend staying here.
We stayed at the Yellow House for just under two straight months. It was wonderful. The house is in perfect shape, is highly comfortable and reliable. Our hosts Tony and Maria were very kind and responsive to anything we needed and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our time. The development is about 20 minutes from Boquete, toward the pacific ocean and it's MUCH sunnier and drier than being right in the town of Boquete. When it was raining in Boquete, we always had sunny skies:) TV and internet worked well, lots of english channels on the satellite and the internet was good for basic surfing and email. If you need higher bandwidth internet while staying at the house I'd recommend picking up a $10 unlimited 3G USB stick from Claro, it works extremely well in the area around the house, including for netflix etc... The neighbours are all very friendly, but the houses are spread out enough that you have a lot of privacy. This house has the most private backyard and patio that we saw in the development and the patio set up and hammock make for a lovely sitting space with birds gathering all around. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed, and the air conditioning was more than adequate. One thing we really appreciated about this house was that there were no roosters close by crowing at 3am, and no dogs barking constantly: two common challenges in the houses right in town. It makes for much more relaxing sleep. We would highly recommend this property to anyone! Thanks Tony and Maria!
Excelente casa.
Excellente experience. We had a very nice time in family. The house have all the confortable things necessary to have a nice time for a weekend or holydays. The best of the house is the deck/terraza to appreciate the montains with a coffee, glass of wine, a beer or drink.
This was a great home base! The house is south of Boquete so it's away from the town action but has its own nature action going on. Birds sing and hummingbirds find nectar in the flowers in the yard and trees.
The house is very comfortable and there were three of us so everyone had their own room and bathrooms. We cooked a few meals in the spacious kitchen. And I of course had the hammock out on the back porch area. I love my hammocks and naps.
The yellow house is a great secure place to stay. We had a local
Contact who helped us with any issues and recommended places to eat or visit. We have a new couple friend!
You will love this place, especially if you want a little comfort and quiet. It's just the ticket!
We decided to stay in Caldera, because we (me, my wife and two daugthers) wanted to visit Boquete. Boquete is a beautiful mountain village where many activities can be done and where the temperature is pleasant. The house is conveniently located between David and Boquete. With the given directions of Antoine we easily found the house. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood with guards who made us feel safe. The house has everything you need, from towels to a washing machine and dryer to all the kitchen equipments and a BBQ. It has three bedrooms with airconditioning and two big bathrooms. The furniture and the atmosphere made us feel like home. It also has a big terrace where we spend some time relaxing with a beautiful view on the mountains. Television and wifi is available as well. At last we would like to thank Antoine for his excellent explanation beforehand about the house, the surrounding and people we can contact in case of problems. We really enjoyed our stay and fully recommend this villa.
This is an amazing house. Well kept, clean, high end furniture and nicely decorated. Will definitely stay again. Only one technical issue with the WiFI. which needs to be solved. Highly recommend this property.
Having stayed at several very nice rental homes during our vacation in Panama, we can easily say that Antoine's house is THE BEST! The pictures don't do it justice. It is absolutely stunning. The layout of the house is great, the bedrooms are comfortable, the furnishings beautiful, and the terrace…! The terrace provides incredible mountain vistas, and Antoine's house is one of the few in the community that has many trees that provide shade and are home to birds, humming birds and butterflies. Our stay was only a short one, but we vowed we'd come back for a long-long stay. Dealing with Antoine and his property manager was a pleasure. They answered any questions that we had and helped us explore the area.
Upon our arrival we found coffee and tea, detergent and shampoo to get us started with. There are excellent, US quality supermarkets in the city of David, and quite good local stores close by. Boquete is a cute little town, with lots of stores and good restaurants. Boquete can be a little windy and cold in the evenings, but Antoine's house is situated only 10 minutes south of it and where the temperatures in that area are always very pleasant.
We strongly recommend Antoine's home to the Airbnb community!
