The place was great, It was so good to get into a warm clean and nice place after landing in the icecold Canada after our stay in the warm Cuba. The beds were comfortable and the place is spacious and homy. There are great restaurants and shops in walking distance from the apartment and the bus stops right outside the door. The subway is also very close by but we took the bus to the subway station anyway since it was so cold. I can really recommend this place and communication with Biba was very good. Thanks Biba
i stayed here for two nights and it was great to stay here. This place is clean and tidy. I strongly recommend this place :)
Biba's place was pretty rundown. The photos in her ad were what I expected but the things in her apartment that were not photographed left a great deal to be desired. It is obvious this apartment is not "lived in" as there were no personal touches, no clothing, no dishtowels, no soap.... We were surprised when we came home to a soaking bed on our second night. Granted our host agreed to refund one night's stay due to an unforeseen roof leak, but all in all my trip with my son was a little dampened by our dismal experience.
OF ALL HER APARTMENTS, I MUST SAY THIS IS THE MOST NICE ONE! KITCHEN WAS FULLY EQUIPED, FURNITURE WAS NICE. AND THIS ONE REALLY HAD WIFI. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO SLEEP AND COOK SOMETHING FAST, THIS IS A GOOD OPTION. NICE AREA, NICE BUILDING AND PEOPLE. AND IT IS NEAR THE SUBWAY.
The place was exactly where we wanted it and what we were expecting. It was an older building, but everything was clean and in order. Biba was very friendly and helpful when we came and left.
Apartment was pretty much as described in the ad. About 20 min walk south to Eglinton and shorter walk north to Lawrence station. You can hear the subway but the building does not shake. Electrical outlets are old, bring a 2 prong adapter for your laptop! Kitchen had dishes but bring you own napkins and dish soap. The floors are wooden and creak so you can hear people in the apt above walking about but otherwise noise levels are fairly low. Parking in the back. Steam heat was good, if noisy. Building probably dates from 1920's era so don't expect modern! Enjoyed the stay, a nice break from hotel living.
A lovely stay! Warm, clean & convenient! Tks Biba :)
Biba was an excellent hostess. I was able to contact her without problems, book the room, and get the key from her promptly as soon as I arrived. The apartment was decent and cozy. This apartment is definitely a bit outside of the city center, as it is about 30mins from downtown toronto by train and about 1.5 hours if you decide to walk all the way down yonge st. (which my friend and I did... twice!). Overall, I would definitely recommend the apartment and it would be even better if these small things I mentioned were addressed.
Biba was a great hostess and responded promptly to any questions or concerns that we might have.
A very clean and tidy apartment and good value. The furnishings were somewhat basic but it was actually perfect for what I was looking for and I really enjoyed my stay. Although I never met Biba in person all communications were responded to very promptly and I was made to feel welcome. In addition, Biba was very accommodating with the few extra requests that I made in relation to my stay. I would definitely stay there again.
