Wonderful Mitte design apartment

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Fehrbelliner Straße, Berlin, Berlin 10119, Germany

The Space

The 2 room apartment is in the district of Mitte Berlin, which is the district where all major attractions of Berlin can be found.

Its a newly refurbished (December 2010) habitat that has the following specifications:

- 1 sleeping room with large king size bed
- 1 living room with a double sleeping couch (2m x 1.40m)
- 1 brand new kitchen with a large Smeg and diswhasher
- 1 bathroom with shower and a washing machine
- 1 long hallway
- Its on the higher ground floor, there are only 5 steps you need to take
- Gay friendly

The place was completely done and decorated by myself, and is at the best location for a Berlin visit, namely all major attractions in walking district, plus its located (email hidden)ly and lovely neighborhood boasting with Cafe, Restaurants, Galleries, Little boutique store and cultural places.
You don't actually have to leave the neighborhood to experience Berlin, but of course, public transport is just around the corner:

- Tram 1 around the corner goes 24-7 and is 2 stops away from Hackescher Markt, and 2 stops away from Eberswalder Strasse, which is the center of Prenzlauer Berrg.
- U Bahn 8 (Rosenthaler Platz) and U Bahn 2 (Senefelder Platz) are 5 minutes walking distance away, go 24 hours 7 days a wekk, and bring you directly to Alexanderplatz (2 stops), Potsdamer Platz (the third center of Berlin), Kurfuerstendamm, Schoeneberg, Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg. At Hackescher Market or Alexanderplatz you can directly take the S-Bahn to the East (Friedrichshain) or the West (Tiergarten, Charlottenburg) where the other attractions like Brandeburger Gate, Kurfuerstendamm or East Side Gallery are.

In a 10 minute walking distance from my place you find the following attractions and things to do :
- Mauerpark, Mauermuseum, Prenzlauer Berg, Kulturbrauerei, Zionskirche, Kastanienallee (1 minute), Art Galleries at Auguststrasse and Linienstrasse, Weinsbergpark with my favorite park restaurant "Nola's), Volksbuehne, Museum Island with the Neues and Altes Museum, Pergamonmuseum, Bodemueseum, Museum for Natural Sciences (large Dinosaur inside), Kollwitzplatz, Shops around Hackesche Hoefe ((website hidden)) , and then literally hundreds of bars and restaurant, art galleries here and there.

There is a bike renting place from the German Train Network just outside my house, where you can easily rent a bike with your credit card and enjoy the city on the bike.

Of course the place has Internet, international TV stations (BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera etc), a washing machine, hot water, and a Wii for your entertainment.

Berlin can't wait to see you, and my apartment already says "Willkommen".

  • I had a very pleasant stay at Volker's apartment.
I enjoyed the neighborhood, the location
was excellent, very quiet, close to a shopping center,
near by all around many good cafes and restaurants.
U-ban stations within 5 minutes walking,
only two stops from the very well known Alexander Platz...
Volker's two rooms cosy apartment was very nice and well equipped.
I would very much like to come again!

  • We were given a warm welcome when arriving at the apartment and advised on local restaurants, etc. The neighbourhood was fantastic and a great location for getting to different tourist attractions, local cafe's, bars. The apartment was as we had expected, with all the identified amenities on the website.
    A really nice apartment.

  • We hebben het er erg naar onze zin gehad. Ruim en mooi appartement met veel licht. Ligging is prima!

  • Great appartment in a great city. This was our first time in Berlin and we enjoyed every moment. Great sights, history all over, lots of nice shops, bars and restaurants. The appartment is in a nice neigbourhood (technically Mitte, but very close to Prenzlauer Berg) , mainly residential but with some nice bars/restaurants at walking distance. We enjoyed a great pubmeal in Schwarze Pumpen, at the corner of the street and very good icecream at Glucklich am Park, at the other corner (nice terrace also). Supermarket at 75 m, subway a few minutes. Appartment is spacious for two people, nicely furnished, not uber-clean but good enough, and with all the necessary equipment. We can really recommand Volker's place.

    Achterstallig onderhoud.

  • As all the reviews have said the apartment is excellent. It's incredibly Central yet you can't tell that when you're in the apartment,it's very quiet which was great.

Things we really liked... Comfortable bed & a fantastic power shower with really hot water (look out for the funny Green light). A fully equipped kitchen with a great coffee machine& lots of handy bits of food that other guests have left and you can add too (e.g oil, sugar, butter etc). The Nintendo Wii was a real surprise and a nice perk. All the art work, lights, shelving etc are all really funky. It's very spacious, there was only two of us but four could easily fit. There were lots of towels and spare clean bedding which you could use too (we didn't need it).

Volker has put together a useful guide book which was fab, really handy.

The area felt safe and there is a local pub on one corner which i'd recommend and a really tasty waffle shop on the other which was brilliant! Also there is a large supermarket very close. The area the apartment is in is full of restaurants, cafes and bars plus the close U-Bahn (senefelder) is just a short walk so you can get everywhere else easily.

I'd definitely stay here again, four days in Berlin wasn't enough!

  • I had a wonderful two week stay at Volker's apartment in Mitte.
The apartment is very quiet. There are trees out of the bedroom window and also trees out of the living room window. There is lovely light in the apartment. The bed is comfortable, the pillows are down which are not great for allergies but i found a foam pillow in the cupboard. The kitchen appliances are updated. The location could not be better. The U2 and the U8 are both nearby and also a tram goes by. Every direction you go within a block or so you have excellent cafes and restaurants. Cafe Fleury is my favourite morning place. The bicycle rental across the street is also very good.
Robin is the local person who welcomed me and is very nice.

  • This was our first Air BNB experience, and I hope all the following will be up to this high standard. We spent part of our stay in Germany in 4-4.5 star hotels, but this apartment was far better!
Volker was extremely professional, everything is as described, we went to the wrong address by mistake (per GPS) and someone was waiting for us at the apartment when we got there, and was very nice and understanding about the extra delay.
The apartment is really nice, and comfortable, and even more so centrally located to anything we needed. We really enjoyed the very handy guide book that is there for guests.
Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.
    Thanks Volker!!
