Our 4-day stay in Rome was wonderful. Luisa's apartment is a great place to stay, very neat, cozy, and clean. We had the feeling we had a home, and not just a hotel room, which made it all quite special. We would be happy to come here again some day.
Très bonne situation géographique avec accès direct à partir de Termini.
Hôte très sympathique aidant à la visite de Rome.
Appartement parfaitement propre.
We didn't get to know Luisa, but we met Luigi instead.
We had shared our arrival times and he was waiting for us at the door. He was nice and gave us information about where to eat and the home basics.
The house is really near The Vatican city, so it's perfect for getting up early and visiting the Vatican Museums. It has a metro station near so you can get to the train in 15 mins.
The house is cozy, enough for a couple, with a big bed, a kitchen to cook some pasta. It has enough light, even for being a first floor under the street level, partly because it has a small patio on the back.
I would like to mention that we found plenty of olive oil and spices and also butter, jam and some buns and cookies for breakfast. In the bathroom there was new toothpaste, shampoo and body gel for us.
A great stance in Rome for an excellent price.
Thank you Luigi! :)
We very much enjoyed our stay in Casa Lucy. Very nice place in a good area. Luisa and her husband were very nice to us. And showed us were the good places were to eat pizza and icecream. Also very organised and it gave us the feeling that we could always call them for anything :)
We love Casa Lucy and thank you so much to Luisa e Luigi. We mainly chose this place due to location and budget, AND it was perfect.
First of all the location: from the Termini station, which you have to get to from the airport anyway, one has to ride 6 stops with the A-line Metro and then from the Ottaviano station it's probably shy of 7-8 minutes walk to the apartment. Overall, it's all okay but just be ready to carry your big luggage through crowds and take care of your pockets while you're moving. Even ticket machines warn you about pick pockets - so beware.
About the apartment: Once we got there, Luigi just arrived with his bike to check us in. They literally live 2-3 minutes away from the apartment and they were ready to help us whenever we needed them. Luigi was so kind to give us a thorough but brief run through of the place. In short: the apartment is simple, safe, and cosy. As December guests, we didn't need to use the small open space at the back door because it was a bit cold. But it probably would have been nice to sit there on a hotter day. The air condition provided heat for to stay warm and it was just fine overall.
They have jam, bread, mineral water and italian coffee which we were free to partake. Let Luigi show you how to use the Italian coffee maker so that you can prepare a great cup of italian coffee every morning to start your day. Only a small detail to mention: upon check in, guests have to pay a small tax fee of a couple euros which you get an official receipt for.
Overall, we can't complain. After checking-in, we went straight to Pizzarium (10 minute walk), caught a Metro back to St. Peter's Square, and then walked to the first batch of sites (Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Gilotti and the Foundtain) in one night. In preparation for beating the long lines at the Vatican museum and St. Peter's basilica, the apartment is 10 minutes walk which you can use to your advantage by heading there earlier in the mornings (around 8am). It was worth the effort for us as we saw how long the lines can get in the mid-days. Going to the Colosseum wasn't a hastle either as it's matter of taking the metro and transferring once. In about 15-20 minutes you are there.
There is so much to tell but so little space. We approve of Casa Lucy and with the apartment we made an unforgettable experience of Rome. Grazie Mille.
It was very nice experience to stay Luisa's flat. In my opinion, you can enjoy true homey feeling with nice cuppa Illy coffee, tea lights, all those small amenities in every cupboard ready waiting for you. The flat lacks hyper clean + new apartment vibe, but if you like the feeling of being at home, relaxed, I would recommend this place.
The flat is located about 10mins walk from Vatican, in the nice neighborhood.
Overall, it was very good experience. Thank you, Luisa!
Ottimo soggiorno, appartamento carino e pulito, grande cordialità ricevuta! Da consigliare sicuramente! :-)
Great stay, nice and clean apartment, very friendly owners! Recommended for sure! :-)
Casa Lucy was fantastic! It was in a great neighborhood within walking distance to so many sights including the Vatican. It was extremely clean and had all of the amenities you could ask for. Not to mention the owners were great! I highly recommend staying here and it is a great value.
