Interaction with Guests
My house has three private rooms available, where guests and myself share the two bathrooms and the kitchen. I travel and work at my studio often, so sometimes you may not see me around, sometimes when I am out of town or on a project I also have my bedroom available for BnBers. However I am always a phone call or message away with any question you may have, and my friend Isabel who helps me clean can assist when I'm out of town with any issues at my home.
I Live in the Historic "Bywater Neighborhood" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/Frenchman Street
A safe area where everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops.
There are several good restaurants, the "St. Claude Art Galleries", and the Mississippi River. A couple more blocks and you're at Two of the most popular coffee shops in town, Even more amazing restaurants, vintage shops, 24hr health food grocery, and many local destinations! Our house is a calm and beautiful ride along the Mississippi 1.5 miles to the French Quarter down beautiful South Peters Ave.
Commonly sought after attractions within 1.5 miles of our house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
I recommend using the Free bikes to get around the area, New orleans is a small enough city geographically you can get virtually anywhere by a short bike ride!
*a note on the bikes:
The bikes are FREE so they are not the fanciest of rides. Mainly geared toward the travelers who are down for an adventure, and aren't expecting a Lexus, they're more like an old Toyota (strong guts, but moody) But we love them, they have their quirks, and they get a lot of use. Please, if you are not used to working with a used "get around town bike" than consider renting a bike from one of the many lovely rentals around town. (Gerkins, Bicycle Michaels, or Crescent City Bike Tours)
Other Things to Note
No pets please due to allergy concerns, thanks!
I am totally flexible and available to accommodate any check-in or check-out times however, for regularity sake I suggest:

WE did Not expect to stay with more People in one Flat. We did sleep well, everything was ok. Not fare from NO french quater and everything was in Near reach.
Andrew runs a very slick and professional opperation. We didn't actually meet anyone at the house but got the impression that there were only other guests staying there. The house was nice and clean and in an interesting part of town. And the bed was VERY comfy. We didn't use the bikes due to torrential rain, but Andrews place is a short walk from everywhere we wanted to be.
Everything was just as advertised. We enjoyed our stay at Andrew's house and would do it again.
We never got to see Andrew, but he was very responsive when we contacted him about delays to our flight in to New Orleans. The place was full of other travelers, but everyone was respectful and quiet. The neighbourhood is a little quiet, but we soon realised its actually safe and there are several hidden gems—Satsuma Cafe and Elizabeth's—in the area. We found it's actually not that quick to walk to the French Quarters (25-30 minutes), so cycling may be the better option.
What can I say? Staying at the House of Sweet Dreams was a huge part of New Orleans stealing my heart. The neighborhood was perfect- relaxed, beautiful buildings, great restaurants and good vibes. Loved the art and the new park along the levee. Everything about the listing was just as expected- no meeting the host but welcomed interaction with the other guests. Had plenty of privacy, quiet, cozy. Why in your right mind would you stay in the French Quarter when you can stay here and see more of a local perspective!? Andrew thanks for all the recommendations- our tastes are very in sync. The bikes allowed us the freedom to bike all the way to City Park to enjoy the sculpture garden, then zip down to Luke for an unbelievable Happy Hour, then ride out through Uptown for an authentic crawfish boil. Really appreciated the cleanliness (and how nice Margo the gal who cleaned it was!) and funky decorations. It was only about ten minutes to bike to Frenchman street and the walk was also beautiful too.
Andrew I look forward to seeing some of your art in person some day and when I finally move to the Big Easy I am buying you a drink in honor of the inspiring, relaxing, music and art filled weekend my partner and I spent at your home. Best wishes! Always welcome at my home if you find yourself in the New Haven, CT area!
The Listing and the photos were VERY accurate. I just looked at the photos again and I felt like I was right back there! Everything was really perfect; the other guests that I met were so nice. I really loved the location as it was within walking distance to several restaurant gems and a very quick bike ride to the french Quarter. It is also quite near to the recently opened Crescent Park along the river. I loved the fact that there were bicycles there for our use. Next time in New Orleans, I'm at the same place! Andrew was very accommodating. Highly recommended.
Andrew is the best! His houses are works of art, each room unique. Do yourself a favour & stay here!

I am an artist who travels very often, I tour the world creating art installations and large group projects. Air Bnb is the perfect solution to keeping my home "lived in and loved" while I am in town or away!
When traveling I am usually driving my 40ft school bus converted in to an Art Studio all over the country creating large scale art installations, I studied Sculpture in Washington, DC and now love to call New Orleans; HOME!
