  • The pictures don't do this place justice-- it's beautiful and the wildlife and sunsets that you can see here is amazing. Jim and Nancy were gracious hosts. The accommodations were great for those that want to be outside of Charleston but still accessible to town/beach. We found ourselves wanting to stay at the Tiki hut and enjoy the views versus venturing out-- made for a very relaxing vacation.

  • The house and hosts were so much better than expected. The photos don't do justice to the beauty of the surroundings, and all the nice words about the hosts are true. We were there with our 17 month toddler and parents, and everything was perfect, and the location was central to everywhere in Charleston. We were a bit concerned about bugs, being right by the water, but we had no problems. Thanks so much for hosting and wishing you all the best.

  • The Marshland Terrace Vacation House made our visit to Charleston for a wedding at Magnolia Plantation fun and relaxing. Its proximity to the airport and to the historic plantation area of Charleston was very convenient for us. This beautiful property and all of its many amenities are accurately described on the Airbnb listing. Cap'N Jim and his wife have thoughtfully prepared a very thorough house manual and a complete up to date guide to Charleston attractions and restaurants with personal notes and reviews of their favorites. The house and grounds are clean, well maintained, comfortable, and lots and lots of fun!

  • We loved the home! Everything exceeded our expectations. If you want to live the "Low Country" experience then I would stay here on your next visit to Charleston. We loved the sunsets while sitting in the Tiki Hut. The home is beautiful and felt like home. My family will remember this vacation as a great choice for creating lifetime memories. Thank you for the great experience.

  • Jim was the best! He was very helpful in getting us situated and letting everyone know where the best local places are to have a good time. The house is wonderful and everyone really enjoyed their time there. A great place to stay and a great, helpful host!

  • We had a great time at this home. It was perfect for our girls weekend! We were able to enjoy everything it had to offer and still spend lots of time shopping and enjoying all the delicious restaurants in downtown Charleston. The hot tub and 'happy hour hut' were some of our most favorite features. The house is outfitted with anything and everything you could possibly need. We'd recommend it, especially for families and larger groups.!

  • The place was outstanding and the hosts were so welcoming! They showed us around the house and were very helpful. • We felt so welcome when we arrived with Nancy and Jim there to show us around the house and property. It is absolutely beautiful there on the water, and it was the perfect setting for the workshop we had on Sunday with plenty of space for our 11 participants. The house was clean as well as private, and we loved having our coffee right in the bedroom to sit with first thing in the morning looking out at the sunrise over the water with the birds and squirrels at their feeders. Loved the hot tub too!!
We're looking forward to our return stay in March!
Thank you so much for sharing your space with us, Nancy and Jim!

About
We are outdoor people, enjoying especially water related activities, mountains, nature & various kinds of boating. We often, however, take our vacations to cities in contrast to our home setting. I am married to a nurse who travels extensively for her job. I particularly enjoy sailboats, have raced extensively & hold a USCG 50T Near Coastal Master's License. I also love "Birding" and am happy to share my enthusiasm for same. Marshland Terrace reflects our values and as a handyman, have enhanced it's natural features.
