  • Simply excellent.

  • The place was outstanding and the hosts were so welcoming! They showed us around the house and were very helpful. The house was very neat and clean and the house accessories were kept in very good condition. Overall a great experience and I would love to come and stay again! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

  • We felt so welcome when we arrived with Nancy and Jim there to show us around the house and property. It is absolutely beautiful there on the water, and it was the perfect setting for the workshop we had on Sunday with plenty of space for our 11 participants. The house was clean as well as private, and we loved having our coffee right in the bedroom to sit with first thing in the morning looking out at the sunrise over the water with the birds and squirrels at their feeders. Loved the hot tub too!!
We're looking forward to our return stay in March!
Thank you so much for sharing your space with us, Nancy and Jim!

  • We would highly recommend Jim and Nancy's home as a vacation getaway. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
Jim served as a wonderful tour guide, birding guide and was very knowledgeable about the beautiful city of Charleston. Our family of 17 was gathered to celebrate a special birthday and the Tiki hut and wonderful boat ride through the marsh was enjoyed by everyone. Nancy shared a wonderful South Carolina recipe with us of Frogmore Stew which everyone enjoyed.
We thank Jim and Nancy for wonderful memories of our visit that we will always cherish.

Nik, thanks for kind review. We enjoyed meeting you and hope you will return some day!

  • Jim & Nancy were great hosts and have a beautiful home. We wouldn't stay any other place should we return to Charleston. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • Cap'N Jim's home was lovely. We were six guests, and we had plenty of room to enjoy together or in which to relax in solitude. To see calm water out the window or to bask in its view from the lanai or dock every day was splendid. Thanks, Cap'N, for the chance to catch our breath.

  • We are enjoying staying in Jim's property. The house we booked is convenient and right next to the bund. This property has everything and you definitely won't get bored. We got a quite relaxed vocation.

We haven't met Jim, the host, in person but he has been kind and friendly since we contact with him at email for the first time.

  • What an incredible house! We were initially caught up in trying to get a place right on the ocean, but we're so glad we gave this house a look. The view is incredible, and this is prime relaxation real estate. Whether it was watching the planes land in the yonder, taking in a thunderstorm from the Tiki hut, listening to the birds chirp while sipping morning coffee, this place offers an experience you really won't find elsewhere.
We never got to meet Jim and his wife, but we communicated beforehand and Jim made sure we had everything we needed. I almost don't want to leave such a good review because I want it to be available the next time we want to come back, but do not make the mistake of passing up this house. The pictures Jim has posted, which are amazing to begin with, don't even do it justice.
Best of all it's dog friendly, so being able to have our two dogs there with us for the family get together was great.
We will be back! Thanks again Jim!

We are outdoor people, enjoying especially water related activities, mountains, nature & various kinds of boating. We often, however, take our vacations to cities in contrast to our home setting. I am married to a nurse who travels extensively for her job. I particularly enjoy sailboats, have raced extensively & hold a USCG 50T Near Coastal Master's License. I also love "Birding" and am happy to share my enthusiasm for same. Marshland Terrace reflects our values and as a handyman, have enhanced it's natural features accordingly.
