Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.
We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.
We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.
The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God.
However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants.
Pasquale has the rooms and urn the most beautiful views in Positano. The house is located on a hill and has a panoramic view of the Positano Coast. Our room was very clean and had a small fridge with water and some drinks that could be bought. The private bathroom outside the room was very clean and had all the necessities like towels, soaps, shampoo and a hair dryer. We were served breakfast in the Patio outside with nice music playing. The breakfast spread us good and everything was home made. There are a few restaurants close by once you climb down or their is also the option to go to Positano where there are multiple options. Pasquale suggested restaurants and also helped in planning places we wanted to see and how best to get there.
We had the most amazing time with with Pasquale and his family at Colle dell'ara. Pasquale is really friendly and has great recommendations for local restaurants and walks (we enjoyed going down the ancient steps into Positano). The B&B was very comfortable and has the most stunning views. We used public transport the whole time which we found easy and convenient. I wish we could've stayed longer than the three nights, it was such a perfect stay.
Pasquale was nice and accommodating when things didn't go as planned. Views are AMAZING (much better than pictures) in Colle Dell'ara. The only draw back is that in order to get those views, you have to stay pretty high up. The bus comes every hour so it isn't too hard to get down to Positano. Unfortunately there is a bit of a hike up to the house so it might not be the best for older folks...lots of steps. It's a great place to go for a private retreat and great views.
Pascuale and his brother were great hosts. They made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome and answered all our questions promptly. They also had a very good recommendation for a restaurant which is down the hill from their Bed and Breakfast. The view is amazing, the room was immaculately clean, and the breakfast was perfect. Thanks, Pascuale - next time in New York I will take you out for a drink!
Oh, what do I say about this property, the host, the location... Everything about this place is marvellous. It almost felt like I had gone back to a dreamy fairytale era living here for 2 days. Pasquale is one of the nicest hosts I have ever met... Makes you instantly comfortable, takes care of all your needs (helped us in local bus timings, route maps, boat cruises to Capri, cab bookings, loading luggage a to our cab on the last day... I mean he is a pure GEM!!). I will definitely go back to this property and with a bigger group
