This place is very beautiful. It is somewhat far from downtown positano and it can take a good 30 minutes by bus to get there mostly because the roads are small and people have to drive slow. You can also walk down in 30 min or so. The room was very clean, spacious, great temperature at the time i went (may). There is a walk through some woods that takes about 7 minutes from the road which could be challenging for people with walking or balance issues. But the place is enchanting and very much worth every cent. happily recommend it.

It's a beautiful location. Be prepared to climb 15 flights of stairs. The B&B is run by a family and they are super nice. There is a bus service every 1 hr to the Positano town and everything else can be accessible from there. There are restaurants and shops at a walkable distance from the B&B. The breakfast is great as well!

Amazing place with perfect breakfast and views and hiking--the outdoor patio, yoga deck and the hiking options in the forest were simply unparalleled in beauty. We could have happily wandered the woods and sat on the yoga deck all day, every day. I also recommend, for adventurous walkers, to take the staircases down through the towns for an hour walk into Positano. Quite a workout, but a fantastic adventure. There needs to be MUCH better communication on how to reach the house since both the phone and intercom did not work. We were lost for more than an hour and a half and nearly gave up searching, but luckily, Pepino at the lovely restaurant La Tagliata took care of us and called Marco to come retrieve us. The little sign that marks the airbnb doesn't actually show where the path is, which is farther on the main road and a hidden path on the left side, with a five-minute walk up through the woods. Knowing all this beforehand would have saved us from a frustrating afternoon. That being said, the location itself is something incredible special and once you find it, it's magical.

Great place to stay in the vertical countryside between Montepertuso and Nocelle. As a country girl, I found it so nice to get out of the cities and into the country and see the terraced fields and productive crops. A breath of fresh air. They served freshly harvested oranges and apples at breakfast each morning among other delicious options. Our room and adjoining bathroom were both spacious and clean. Jocko, Pasquale's brother was friendly and accommodating and we had the opportunity to meet many other interesting couples staying there, too. But to note, running/hiking shoes required to get to and from town. Many steps to get up to this beautiful place. But it's view is well worth it. Highly recommend!

This place was so unique and beautiful. Definitely a real bed and breakfast feel versus a typical air bnb. The first day we took a bus almost to the top of the hill in Positano where they greeted us and had our luggage taken up on a little machine that carried it up the steep hill. Definitely a little bit of a trek to get to the place, but absolutely beautiful!! You're located overlooking most of the city below and the ocean and mountains. So serene and romantic for couples or relaxing for some alone time. There was a delicious spread for breakfast every morning that was constantly re supplied as things ran out and options to get coffee drinks as well. Hosts were all really friendly and helpful with recommending some great local places to eat and drink. Also offered a cooking class that seemed awesome, but didn't have enough time to try. Recommend this place!!

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I have wanted to visit Positano for quite a few years now and I was diligent in my search for the perfect place to stay for such an occasion. Our stay here at Colle dell'ara was nothing less than perfect. We are sad to have left. Every morning we were greeted with the most delicious breakfast, foraged from their gardens. We had the pleasure of meeting Pasquale and Marco. My husband plays guitar and enjoyed a small jam session with Marco on our arrival day. It made the experience all the more real and made us feel at home, with friends. They were also most helpful in assisting us with dinner reservations and transportation. Note: The residence is high on the mountain and the views are completely unbeatable. With that being said, the steps leading up to the home are beautiful and a wonderful trek and experience but there are about 120+ steps. We loved every minute of this but could imagine that it would be difficult with any kind of disablement. We will certainly recommend Colle Dell'ara and we hope to return back.

We had a great time and the grounds are absolutely beautiful; I would definitely recommend staying here, but there were a few things that I wish I had known and that could've been handled better. First, the listing says that the bathrooms are "private," but not in the traditional sense. It is a private bathroom that no one else uses, but it requires going down a public hallway; it is not attached to the room. I don't believe we were given the room we had booked, so I can't definitively speak to whether that's the case for this listing. The path up to the house is pretty narrow and not easy to get through; it was fine for us, but I don't think this was properly described in the listing, particularly for the elderly or those with mobility issues (there is no handrail). The bus that goes to Positano and up to Montepertuso also only runs every hour, which would've been nice to know especially since there was no internet when we were there, and we couldn't plan our day as easily; once you're up there, coming back down to town is not an easy task. Walking down, although very beautiful, takes around 45 minutes. A cab ride up to the hotel from Positano is about $40. We arrived at a difficult time when lightning had struck the power line a few days before and there was no intercom, outdoor lights, lift for the luggage, or internet, and Pasquale was on some very well-deserved vacations. As such, I'm sure our experience wasn't typical, but still could've been better dealt with. Since Pasquale was out of town, the phone numbers we had were not working, and the intercom was out. We had been calling the number while we were in the cab, and the lack of response was worrying. There was a sign on the intercom with another number to call, but it wasn't clear where we were supposed to wait or go with our luggage. A text or email a few days in advance alerting us to what happened with an updated number and where to wait would've been sufficient. It would also have been nice to know that the internet was out so that we could prepare better. We were also told that the lights up the path would be on despite the lighting issue. That wasn't the case, but we fortunately had a phone with sufficient battery to use the flashlight. I'm not sure how we would've gotten back otherwise since it is pitch black. Again, a heads up about it would've been sufficient.
