Other Things to Note
There are no cooking facilities in the place and no television, just peace and quiet, birds and honeybees
No smoking anywhere on the property. If you need to smoke, you can take a walk in the neighborhood. Absolutely no pets of any size or species. We don't have TV so you can enjoy the sound of birds singing! We live in the front house and can help with questions about the area or recommendations for restaurants downtown. We live a pretty quiet life and expect guests to be fairly low key, but if you need to practice your tuba, the studio suite has decent soundproofing. This would not be a good place for you to host a gathering of any kind. No problem if a local friend or colleague plans to visit--just let us know so we understand why there is a stranger in our back yard! And please, no candles. Lights are dim-able for all the romance you need :)
We've lived in Mountain View for 19 years and love its friendly and relaxed vibe. Amy is a high school English and journalism teacher and Kern works with a non profit that helps college students become social entrepreneurs. We love to travel, read, garden and cook. Our house was a little small for us when our two sons were growing up so we built a studio in our yard to accommodate them in their teen years. Now one has his own place and the other is in college, so we have the space to host visitors. We know you'll enjoy the serenity of our place and we will be happy to provide recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area.
