Wow, what a splendid and grand 1916 house, clearly worthy of its inclusion on national registry of historic places. Private suites, with vast and gorgeous open/common areas. This was a wonderful and peaceful location in Hilo, with quick drive ~8 min drive to 'downtown' area. Perfect for day trips to HI Volcanoes Nat'l Pk, summit of Mauna Kea, beaches south, coastal drive/waterfalls/beaches north. We stayed 3 nights in this Hilo 'base camp', including weekend (Hilo Farmer's Market on Sat morning) and did all these things. Perfect!
Check in/out were seamless, with great/responsive communication with Kristie's sister (who co-manages this property), and we felt very well taken care of. Proactively upgraded us to "Gorgeous" Room upstairs due to security system beeping issue downstairs. Such a spacious, comfortable room, with great private bathroom. Kitchen is wonderful. Sitting area options are terrific, and we enjoyed breakfasts and dinners on lanai.
Price is higher than some options, but this place is quite luxurious and grand, making it a good value. We highly recommend!!
Very nice and clean room! The house is really beautiful and in a very nice location! I recommend it 100%
