Charming Wine Country Guest Cottage

House - Entire home/apt · Vine Hill School Road, Sebastopol, CA 95472, United States

The Space

A stunning location on a Wine Country Estate Property We are 10 minutes to downtown Sebastopol, 3 minutes to Graton and 15 minutes to Healdsburg and located in the Vine Hill Area banana belt with ideal weather. We love where we live and look forward to sharing this incredible property with others. Let the pictures do the talking. I wake up grateful to live here every day.

Just a short drive and you will be at the beautiful Sonoma Coast in Bodega Bay or Jenner. The Russian River is within minutes of the house and seasonally you can rent Kayaks and Canoes. Just recently I have taken up Stand Up Paddle Boarding and have friends who run a company that will take you Paddle Boarding.

The Guest House has it's own private patio and ample parking. You will have access to our salt water pool during the swimming months or just to sit and enjoy the views. There is so much to do here that you could stay busy every day or just sit and relax. I am happy to help guide you to many of my favorite spots. Especially the secret walking spots in our neighborhood which a few of these pictures are taken from.

The picturesque town of Graton is a bike ride away and access to the Joe Rodata trail for walking and biking can be accessed in Graton. Both Willowood and Underwood, which has a Bocce ball court, are our favorite restaurants.

The Vine Hill area is home to many outstanding wineries including the Martin Rey Winery at the end of our road. Our neighborhood, and especially our street appears to be on many bike riding maps as it is fairly pedestrian and bike friendly besides being beyond beautiful and scenic.

Our property is 12 minutes from the Sonoma County Airport with flights daily to LAX and Seattle, Portland through Horizon Air and Alaska

  • My husband and I stayed at Edie's guest cottage for a week in April and wished we could stay forever! The setting, among hills of grape vines, was spectacular! We were close to many great places for day trips and loved spending quiet time at the cottage watching birds building nests or lounging by the pool on lazy days. Edie is a great hostess and made us feel welcome and at ease. We will definitely be returning to stay here again!

  • Great place conveniently located for winery hopping. Edie is a great host and was very helpful with restaurant and sight-seeing tips. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

  • Edie's place was magical. Spent a week there after a 3 day motorcycle trip, and it was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Edie was very accommodating and even extended our stay when I realized I had mis-booked.

  • I can't say enough wonderful things about Edie and the cottage! You hear the adage, "We came as strangers and parted as friends," and it was never more true than with Edie. My husband and I came up to Sebastopol for a prolonged stay while searching for a new home in the North Bay, and Edie's place was perfect for relaxing and house hunting. The cottage is an adorably converted chicken coup (Edie is insanely talented, and did a great deal of the furniture restoration, decor and painting on her own...) with a charming farm kitchen, laundry, spacious master bedroom with exposed beams and plenty of clothing storage, living room/office area (good Internet) and bathroom with enough fluffy white towels to last a week. For the evenings, there are heaters in every room and a fire pit on the patio under a blanket of stars. The cottage and patio are private and removed from the historic restored farmhouse by fencing and landscape, and is surrounded by gorgeous vineyards, apple orchards, and, of course, the nicest hostess on the planet. She gave us a tour of Sebastopol and other places to live (she happens to be a very knowledgeable real estate agent, as well,) made recommendations for food and entertainment, put on a dinner for us, and was just so generally accommodating and helpful, I think we may be ruined for all other airbnb's from here on out :) But seriously, the property and Edie are a welcome breath of fresh air. If you are considering escaping the madness of the city for a while, I highly recommend unwinding in the country with Edie...you won't be disappointed. We can't wait to come back!

  • This family and place is a true gem. We could not be more satisfied with our booking at this rental. Edi and her family are incredibly welcoming and good hearted.

The place is very large and is situated between vineyards. Coming from LA we truly appreciated the silence at night and the clear view into the night sky. The location also allows you to explore Sonoma County and Napa Valley easily since you are right in the middle.

We will definitely book this rental again when we come back pretty soon.

  • This place was TERRIFIC!!! A real find for us. We've been going to wine country for the past 18 years and usually stay in Calistoga but decided to try something different. It was wonderful!!! A really neat place that is very comfortable and convenient. It was very unique...an old chicken coop. Had a garage door at front of kitchen. This would be really neat in summer!! As advertised, the bed is definitely one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Good thermo controls ( I like it cold and even in a cold spell Edie thought of me and didn't turn on heat)!!! It was perfect. Super shower pressure and temp. Kitchen was complete and had all things we needed. Very ample storage areas. WiFi was a little iffy at first but Edie (and her daughter) made super efforts to get this working and it did!! I loved that there was a fire pit and Edie had even provided some wood. It is on a quiet road outside Graton and has super views. Edie recommended vineyard to stroll through and it was one of the more enjoyable times of our stay each morning we did it. Definitely will stay here again!!!! Great place, super price and fantastic hospitality!!!

  • Edie is a great host! She is super welcoming and helpful and has an incredible property. I highly recommend staying here and I highly recommend Edie as a host. I'm so glad I found this spot!

  • Edie's place is so beautiful and peaceful- we loved our stay there! The comfortable bed (really, really comfortable!), fully-stocked kitchen, and big windows were our favorites. It had everything we needed, and the sweet dogs and bursting apple trees were pleasant surprises. This spot is also wonderfully located; it's close to Sebastapol and Santa Rosa but far enough into the beautiful countryside that you really feel like you can breathe deep and relax. We can't wait to come back!

Edie was incredibly communicative and helpful in making sure that the reservation was set up correctly. Her instructions were very clear and easy to follow. She was a great host.

Can't recommend this guest cottage highly enough!

About
I moved to Sonoma Country from Marin County 15 years ago and have never looked back .I sold real estate in Marin for 16 years and have been selling homes in Sonoma and Napa county now for 15 years. My family and I have done home exchanges in Spain and Italy and realized how much we love to travel. I have loved raising my family here and have had many gatherings including apple pressing parties at harvest time as well as olive picking events. We have 15 apple trees and 9 olives trees that we press into the most incredible olive oil I feel grateful to live here and to be able to share this wonderful area with others. As my 15 year old son says when I drive him to school "Mom, we live in Paradise!" .
