How do you feel about my place so far?
Offered to make tea for me -- made sure everything was available. Sweet guy.
I just moved to St. Louis, but needed a place to stay until my apartment was ready. John was very welcoming, outgoing, and helpful from the moment we met until the day he dropped me off at my new home. He picked me up at my hotel (all of my luggage in tow) drove me to the house, and then continued to give me a ride to work every morning. Above and beyond doesn't even come close to describing John's acts of kindness and generosity. Breakfast was prepared every morning and he even made sure I got my vitamin C. He has a wealth of information on St. Louis, the entire area and places abroad as well. I had a wonderful time visiting him and I thoroughly enjoyed our morning conversations over coffee and the news. We even watched the Oscars together, and I was fascinated by his stories of Hollywood, when he lived there. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was good, and the house itself was very comfortable. I am so glad I found John's place, and look forward to staying in touch now that I live here.
2nd stay with John while I was in the St. Louis office. He is an amazingly kind host and I enjoyed visiting with him in the morning when I could. I look forward to another visit soon.
John was an amazing host and arguably one of the nicest people I ever met. He picked me up from the airport for free and treated me with fresh apples he had in his car!! His house was very close to a chinese restaurant and he paid for my dinner!! This was very sweet of him. Then he took me around Brentwood and to downtown and showed me around. His conversation is enriched with loads and loads of interesting information. He is wholly devoted to entertaining you. His house is very clean and he allowed me to play his old but fully functional organ in his backroom. He made nice coffee with tasty scrambled egg and bread. He made sure that the temperature in the house was as comfortable as possible even at nights. He let me keep souvenirs from his home. We enjoyed watching Shark Tank in his tv. That was not all. He even drove me to my interview place in St Luke's hospital which is quite some distance away from Brentwood. He also drove me to many interesting places in the city. He also drove me back to the airport. All in all, he is gem of a host and I strongly strongly recommend him to you. You will not find a host like him easily. I will choose his home again if I ever come back to St Louis
I am a repeat customer for John. I had a total of three reservations with John, including a room for my daughter.
My husband, my daughter, and I all had to convene in St. Louis for a family gathering. As I mentioned in my previous reviews, John is courteous, considerate, and most of all.... gracious.
If you are looking for a quiet location, with galloping squirrels, lots of trees, a most considerate host, and privacy..... this is your place!
On my future travels to St. Louis, I will most definitely try to stay with John again.
John is a marvelous host. He is so kind. He makes a strong first impression as he picked me up at the airport when I arrived in St. Louis. He is a gracious host. Kind, considerate and courteous.
It is easy to feel right at home in his house. John is so welcoming.
The neighborhood is very quite, and his property is located at the end of a dead-end street. Lots of parking. Tons of trees, birds and squirrels.
I slept each autumn night with my windows open. The fresh air was delightful.
If you want a quiet retreat with a most respectful host..... this is your place!
John left notes and was eager to talk about a variety of things. He trotted out a number of artifacts and ephemera that he had collected.
