Welcome to PANOR(h)AMA!
A somewhat different place to stay in the heart of Luxembourg.
Our place is called "panoRHAMa" because it combines both: the panoramic view of the Grund valley, which is UNESCO heritage and it is situated on the top of the Grund: a place called Plateau du RHAM. The place is on high ground of Alzette river, just behind Abbey Neumuenster, which is now famous for its Sundays jazz brunches, occasional open air performance and other concerts.
Built in 1773, this medieval house was completely renovated to combine the charm of original stones with contemporary design and comfort. The famous pedestrian Wenzel walk is just outside the house.
The house has 2 bed rooms: A lofty pop-art room"Grrrund!"on the top floor (see our airbnb listing if you wish to rent only this room) and a cosy room "Bluebell" (see another airbnb listing), situated on the 1st floor.
The pop-art room is inspired by works of the American artist Roy Lichtenstein and has a contemporary design with a twist. The small window between the room and the bathroom has a form of a speech bubble, created by ourselves.
Bluebell is quiet different: it is inspired by a mixture of French Provence and a Japanese ryokan. The room has a rain-like walk-in shower and a delightful panoramic view of the valley.
The living room "1773" is situated on the ground floor and is made up of original local stones and has an open fully-equipped kitchen, dinner table and WC.
An open fully equipped kitchen "bon appetit" is situated on the ground floor and you are welcome to use it. You will even find some cooking books in various languages in case you forgot your favorite receipes. There is a coffee / tea maker, a water boiler, a fridge and an oven.
You are welcome to use our small open-air cosy courtyard. Best enjoyable with a glass of wine and a view of the starry sky.
Free high speed internet (Wi-Fi) is available to our guests.
The house is sItuated at convenient crossroads:
- walking distance to the the railway station, Petrusse Valley and to all main attractions in the city of Luxembourg;
- close to the airport (10 minutes taxi ride or 25 min by public transportation)
Nearby public bus stop is just 5 minutes away. Our lively neighborhood includes a couple of popular bars with terraces facing the Alzette river, a fine Japanese restaurant (Kamakura), an Italian restaurant (Dal Notaro), a German-style Stübe (Bosso), a French fine dining restaurant (Brasserie Mansfeld), a 2-Stars Michelin Restaurant (Mosconi) and many more.
A nice and long bike path departs from the center of Grund.
If you a morning-jogger you will love the chilly hilly challenge of the valley... and you will not be alone!
Limited offer: EUR 170 per night instead of EUR 220 for the whole house with 2 bed-rooms and a dining room/ kitchen.
Feel like at home... and please treat it as such.
No smoking indoor, although it is very easy to pop outside and smoke in the courtyard.
Pets are friends, but not allowed.
Natacha was an amazing host. She really made us feel welcome. She gave us some great local recommendations on where to eat and how to get around. The house is very clean and modern with lots of cool little touches. You can't beat the location and the views either. My family and I really felt at home in The Grund.
A fantastic place to stay in Luxembourg.
It has lots of character, wonderful views, easy to walk to the sights, lovely and clean, and very helpful, friendly hosts.
Serj met us on our arrival and made sure we were comfortable and helped in any way he could. They even left little easter gifts for us!
We would definitely recommend staying here.
Absolutely wonderful hosts, super helpful on getting us oriented on the buses, places to eat etc. which were all very convenient. The place was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, fabulous bathrooms/kitchen, views - perfectly gorgeous! And an ideal location in the old city. Would love to stay there again.
Our hosts Serge and Natacha made us feel very welcome from the moment they accepted our reservation. They provided very useful information about how to get to their home and many welcoming text messages. The home itself was an absolute treat, just gorgeous and made our Luxembourg visit a special fairyland retreat as the surrounds of the home and Luxembourg itself are all very special. We were met by Serge who showed us around and provided extra niceties like wonderful dessert pastries and bottled water. The beds were comfortable and large and everything was clean and cared for. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Natacha was a very welcoming host - she went above and beyond to make sure my family was comfortable throughout our stay.
And the home is fantastic - newly renovated with a very nice kitchen and in a fantastic location
Natacha's husband Serge welcomed us into the house and gave us great tips about where to go for dinner, and even lent us his museum card for free entrance into the modern art museum! The apartment has a great location with amazing view, and the centre is easily reachable by foot. I would definitely stay there again if I went back to Luxemburg.
The apartment was lovely, well furnished and neat and in a nice location, and Natacha was super-friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Next time I need accommodation in Luxembourg, I will book here again without hesitation!

I live and work in Luxembourg which reminds me on crossroads of... diversity.
...the place where a baker can speak (at least) 4 languages and where foreigners feel like at home.
When the city feels too small or too cosy or too chilly, we like to travel...
