Be responsible for your actions, be a direct communicator, and please clean up your basic mess (trash, dishes). We will take care of the deep cleaning after your stay is complete. The bathroom is also maintained on a weekly basis throughout your stay.
Jean’s place is great. It’s very well located, close to a couple of important bus routes. The house is very cozy and the rooms are also spacious. Jean makes an excellent roommate: she’s always willing to help you out, and always trying to make your stay as confortable as possible. I stayed there for three months and I really loved it.
Jean was super friendly and highly communicative leading up to the stay. She provided very clear directions regarding location and check-in, as well as being very flexible about check in/check out time.
I didn't explore the nearby neighborhood that much as I was very busy during the weekend I stayed, but it was a quick/cheap Lyft ride ~$8-10 to downtown/UT-Austin campus.
The space itself was perfect for what I needed. It was a very comfortable place to crash and I felt secure leaving my belongings there while I was out (all of the individual rooms had locking doors).
Though we didn't interact extensively during my stay, Jean was very friendly and provided everything I needed. I would definitely come back and stay here again!
I had an awesome stay with Jean. I would definitely recommend this listing if one is looking for a quiet and convenient area minutes away from UT.
I stayed at Jean's place for 3 months, and absolutely loved it. The place is clean, relaxed, and comfortable, and Jean is super friendly and has great local knowledge. The location is great, near some amazing good (La Fruta Feliz and Country Boyz!) and right by Skylark Lounge, a neat bar. There are a couple of buses nearby that take you to downtown and UT pretty quickly--but the bike lanes (which are really good) were what worked best for me. If you're thinking about staying here--especially for a slightly longer stay--just do it!
My friend and I had a lovely time staying with Jean in her home. She made us feel really welcome and gave us advice on things to do around the city and showed us around the neighbourhood. Although the location of the flat was not in city centre it was located very close to a number of bus routes as well as a bus directly to the airport. Jean kept the house clean and tidy as well as providing extra bedding, towels and a fully equipped kitchen. There is no where better to stay in Austin!
I stayed during 53 days in Jean's house and I can consider the house perfect for me. Close to market and pharmacy, airport for the multiple times I needed to go. It's also easy to take a bus to Downtown, no more than 25 min.
Jean was readily accessible and patient with my English, her always helped me when I needed for to understand her language. She gave me many tips about Austin and took me to Houston to enjoy a Music Festival with more one friend her.
About her support at home, I remember that We all faced a problem because we were without Internet but she replaced the router very quickly.
About the bedroom, the bed were very comfy and the bedroom is especially nice with its size.
I had a great stay with Jean over the ACL weekend and loved Austin in general. I used uber to get around and this was really helpful as someone who doesn't drive.

About the Host, Jean
Laid back Austinite, offering accommodations in my East side dwelling. I'm originally from Indiana, spent 7 years in Washington, DC and generally enjoy travel.
I've traversed much of England, France, Germany, Iceland, Turkey, and Spain. I plan to visit Korea in the near future. I've always tried to either stay with or at least meetup with a city native for a tour during my travels. I loved using AIESEC student group connections and hospitalityclub. I would love to run a hostel one day! I enjoy cultural exchange and believe that all people of all creeds generally want the same thing, and we pretty much go through life facing the same types of trials. #eatsleeplove
