Garden studio, Has it's own private access, bathroom with shower and kitchenette. Beautiful big windows over looking the garden. Located in the middle of Whiteaker, the new brewery district. Near the river path leading to cuthbert and Autzen stadium.

The Space

The studio has beautiful wood floors and big old windows opening up on the garden space. It has the flexibility to sleep up four people. There is a bunk bed with the bottom being a futon couch or queen bed. And the stop bunk is a single bed. There is an additional mattress that can be pulled out. It has a two burner stove, sink, small fridge and a coffee pot. The bathroom has a beautiful tiled shower. It is a great place to stay while exploring eugene.

Guest Access

You have a fridge, bathroom, two burner stove, sink, and closet. If you need to do laundry just let us know. You can use the fire pit and patio on nice sunny days also.

Interaction with Guests

We are here sometimes at a arrival and sometime not. Our interaction really depends on our schedule and yours. We love to welcome you and give pointers about our wonderful neighborhood, but also give you your space to settle in.

The Neighborhood

I love Whittaker neighborhood. It has such mix of things to do. You can go to a choice of two different wineries territorial or the eugene wine cellars, both have very nice tasting rooms with love music often. There are many restaurants and pubs- with live music and great food. There is an bar arcade, where you can go and play old pinball and pacman. There is an great coffee shop that has local and vegan options- also live music. There is one of the best desert bakeries in all of oregon- Sweet life. And our local artist open up there studios for a Friday art walk, where many artist serve wine, cheese and crackers. If you want to go on a walk or a hike the path along the river has about 12 miles of path. With a butte to walk up and see a view of eugene. There are rock columns for rock climbing. The river for kayaking, canoeing, tube floating or swimming. And if you need to pick up something at the valley river center mall, it is a short 15 minute walk on the river path. There really is something for every one.

Getting around

There is a bike path that is about 12 miles in length that goes all over eugene. The mall, cuthbert amphitheater, Autzen stadium, and much more. Every food you could dream of eating or drink you could dream of having is with in a few blocks walking distance.

Other Things to Note

We have three listings. There seems to be a bit of confusion. There is a studio room with bathroom and private access. We have another room inside our house that is listed seperatly. We also have a listing that is a green VW bus, that can be rented separately.

  • Overall it was quite nice, a beautiful little studio. As others have mentioned, the train is very close by and runs fairly often during the night, but it was surpisingly easy to adjust to. The river is an easy walk down the road. Amber said in her review of me that i had sensitivities to "city life." I have stayed at a number of airbnb places in the city and did not experience problems. The problem at Amber's was the electricity meter outside the bedroom wall which gave me headaches. Admittedly this is a problem that is unique to a very small percentage of travellers, so unless you have a known sensitivity to emfs (electromagnetic frequencies) it would not be a concern.

  • The cottage was just as advertised - clean, cozy, and convenient. We would certainly consider it again next time we're in Eugene.

  • We stayed in the studio for one night and we definitely enjoyed our stay. I am a musician and was on tour with my guitar player in Eugene. We found this gem right down the street from our show at Oakshire Brewing Co. and it worked out perfectly. Wish we could have stayed a few more days.

  • The place served its purpose. My wife and I were visiting for a sports event ar U of Oregon. The place is small and compact but everything we needed was available and the place was clean. Amber was a good host.

  • Great experience with this host. Although I never got to meet her in person, the space laid out was as described. It is small (which I expected), but Amber has done a great job making the most efficient use of the space! Stayed there with a friend and we did not feel cramped or crowded. Very easy access, and the fact that Amber accepts pets was wonderful!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. It felt private enough but Amber would be there to offer towels, toilet roll or laundry if we needed it. The location is fantastic for the micro breweries, river walks and cafés.
We're from the UK and the train noises at night were disconcerting at first but we got used to it (helped with ear plugs for me). But overall we felt comfortable, slept well, and thought the studio was a great base for exploring Eugene.

  • I had a wonderful time at Amber's place. Easy check in and gorgeous place to arrive. The space is clean and functional. I loved the creative spirit inside and outside in the gardens. I enjoyed the sunset outside in the gardens smelling the flowers. I brought good wax earplugs and never heard the trains while sleeping.

  • We stayed only one evening at the little cottage and it was quite nice for what we needed. It was very clean and stocked with cups, coffee, and kitchen tools. The train tracks are close by and the train is loud - very loud but it didn't last too long and we went back to sleep. The windows to the cottage are simple and not insulated which allows for a slight draft and street noise. On the other hand, the cottage also has a heater which kept the room warm. All in all a good value for the cost.

  • This was a good choice for us. We appreciated the location - easy walking distance to brew pubs, restaurants, downtown and the recreation path around the river. Accommodations were simple and cozy - great shower and kitchenette arrangement, comfy bed, and private.

  • Amber is a great host. Friendly, knowledgable of the area, unintrusive yet reliable and easy to communicate with.

The space is central in location. Many attractions and businesses are within walking distance. The place itself is filled with light during the day and has great air circulation if you choose to open the windows. The garden is filled with color from the plants and ornaments.

It was a very comfortable place to stay and was a home away from home. All the little things we needed were here... Dishes, soap, shampoo, a fridge, a stove...

We loved it and recommend Amber's place for your stay!
