My place: The Stables is a two storey red-brick barn, stylishly and simply converted into an open-plan self-contained studio apartment. It is light, spacious and airy with attic window views over rooftops to the city centre. For guests I have a very comfortable fold out sofa bed in the downstairs lounge room, adjacent the kitchen and courtyard. The upstairs area includes a lounge area, office, the main bedroom and the bathroom. It is very close to the city, yet totally tucked away, so it's super quiet at night.
Location: The Stables is right in the heart of Fitzroy's cultural hub of Brunswick, Smith and Gertrude Streets. There are loads of cafe's, restaurants, galleries, pubs, book stores, boutique clothing stores, nightclubs, theatre's and attractions very nearby. Fitzroy, Carlton and Treasury Gardens, the Yarra River, Federation Square, the MCG and Melbourne's Sports Park are all a short walk away.
Transport: The 86 and 109 tram lines are 2 minutes walk away. Both will get you in to the city in 10 minutes. Parliament Station on the city loop train line is the nearest station, 10 minutes walk away, or 2 minutes on the 109 tram. The 246 bus will get you to St Kilda in around 30 minutes.
Bookings: My place is open-plan shared space living, so is generally suited to shorter stays of up to 4 nights. If you'd like to make a booking please have a clear photo and description of yourself on your profile. If the booking is for more than one person I request each guest have their own airbnb profile. No smokers thank you.
I had a wonderful first airbnb experience at Myfanwy's home. The place is a couple of minutes to an incredible array of restaurants and brunch cafes yet is country-retreat quiet...so you can sleep! All was smooth. We were both out mostly but Myfanwy seemed lovely when we briefly caught up. If you want to be near the city or just north then stay at The Stables.
Loved our stay in this great location - so close to cafes and shops, yet tucked away on a quiet street. The space was clean and inviting. Our host, Myf was so nice. She had everything ready for arrival including maps to get there. We shared with her and she was quiet, friendly and respectful of our things. It was a very relaxed and easy stay. No issues at all. Thanks!!
It was a lovely stay . Myfanny was good host and the location is not far from center.
Myfany was fantastic to stay with- her place is warm and cosy and she creates an energy that holds space for her guests to feel completely comfortable in sharing her space.
Had a great sleep in Myf's futon, better than many beds I've slept in. Location is fabulous and coffee shops are in abundance on Gertrude St to start your day off right.
Will definitely be back!
Great house and super convenient location.
Myf was seemingly a very nice person, courteous and helpful. Communication prior to arriving was very good and a helpful map was SMS'd to me. My trip was brief and we only crossed each others paths very quickly as both had prior engagements. All I needed was a bed to crash on and Myf's place provided that well. My only regret was popping upstairs for a shower when Myf was asleep - hope I didn't wake you Myf!
We stayed 2 nights at Myfs place, which is located in a very nice area, lots of cafés, shops, bars and a lovely neighborhood close by. Myf is a great host, easy to communicate with and with many recommendations for what to do in that area (thanks for the tip- we had a great time at the Spanish festival!). if we come back to Melbourne, we would definetely stay here again!

Myfanwy is a delightful host, with a kind and considerate approach. She made me feel very welcome. the location is outstanding. She helped me with guidance and directions and I liked the file that Myfanwy made with many eateries, galleries and interesting places and information for a traveler so well laid out.
It was truly delightful staying with Myf - her house has so many interesting things to look at on top of being incredibly warm and cozy. It's also located in an ideal spot, right at the edge of Fitzroy (and all the cool shops/bars/restaurants that Fitzroy has to offer.)
Myf herself is SO nice - she let me borrow a scarf the entire time I was there (because I hadn't adequately prepared for Melbourne weather) and helped out when I twisted my ankle. Plus, she's just super interesting to talk to and has an entire book of recommendations of places to check out. Pretty much the ideal airbnb experience and host! Thank you so much Myf!!
I spent just one night iwth Myfanwy but it really was very pleasant. I'd had flight delays and lost luggage so to arrive and be welcomed into a calm space was wonderful.
Myfanwy was a delight to spend the short evening I had with her but she is also very sensitive to guests needing their space in the downstairs area of her home.
The futon was extremely comfortable and bedding beautiful and clean.
The location is very central but incredibly quiet.
The walk thru the upstairs room to use the bathroom really was not an issue at all, Myfanway cleverly wears eyeshade and earplugs.
all in all a very comfortable and affordable overnight stay.
