Welcome to our community of curious souls! If you're looking for somewhere to call home for any period of time, you found the right place. Come grill, chill, make, and hack with us, and when you leave, stay in touch!
We have a bunk available in a shared room, and we're looking forward to having wonderful creative people join our community!
Stonehenge is our wonderful community of people who make awesome things! Many of our residents are in their 20's and 30's, but we welcome people of all ages into our home. We are not all software engineers, but we share a common curiosity and sense of humor about this funny world, and many of us are highly startup-oriented.
Please spend some time with us, relaxing, drinking a beer, watching movies and playing video games, hacking on some chaos, or teaching us whatever interesting stuff you bring to the table.
Washer, dryer, laundry detergent, refrigerator, wifi, bicycle, sheets, pillows, extra blankets, full kitchen, bulk food (like rice), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and a community.
Interaction with Guests
Katy lives in the house. We spend a lot of time watching movies, making nonsense, or just staying up late talking. Some guests spent a lot of time with the community, but some pass through. We welcome everybody to find whatever level of interaction works for them.
There is a cute dive bar with karaoke every Thursday in stumble distance and two grocery stores (one fewer than 4 blocks away and expensive, one farther away and more affordable). A large park is at the end of the street where you can play football/soccer, and the local library is right at the end of the block.
We are located within easy biking distance of almost anything you could want: 1.7 miles to San Antonio Caltrain, 3 miles from Stanford, 2.3 miles from California Avenue Caltrain. The 35 bus departs from literally the end of the block and will take you directly to Stanford / the Palo Alto Train Station. We have bikes to loan to residents, but sometimes residents lend a hand keeping them in tip-top shape.
I have nothing but good words for Katy. I was stranded with a different reservation pending for a long time. I contacted Katy and she approved a same day reservation within an hour. As for the house, I would recommend it if you want to feel at home away from home. Great housemates and great host.
It was fantastic; the place, the people, the community. super laid back, incredibly friendly. Katy's not just a host, she's an amazing friend and she really cares about people.
Some points of interest:
- there's a great kitchen with a well stocked spice cupboard, but not much fridge space
- fire pit & grill out back make for frequent parties :) don't worry it won't keep you up at night though
Highly recommended, whether it's just for a few days or for a few months.
I drove to Silicon Valley to scope out the area and Katy's place is one of the coolest laid back houses I stayed at. The house has a lot of character with a nice warm feel to it and everyone was really cool.. Good mix of both males and females at the house which creates good balance.
Katy and Garrett are awesome hosts. It felt like I've been living there for years. Very laidback and easy going place. Highly recommend staying here!
Whether you're visiting Silicon Valley for a quick visit or you're new to town and need a place to get your feet on the ground, you can hardly do better than a stay at Stonehenge. You will quickly find yourself at home amongst this energetic yet easy-going community of young professionals.
As well as being a safe and comfortable place to call home, Stonehenge affords newcomers an opportunity to make great friends and establish a strong network from day one. The common room is the center of all the action, here, and is where you'll often find yourself playing video games with NASA engineers, sharing a meal with developers and interns at Google, Groupon, and IMO, or kicking back with Stanford grads and entrepreneurs from all over the world.
Lovely place to stay.. you get to meet plenty of good folks there... n not to forget the two dogs... :)
Loved my stay there. Katy is a great host.
This was my first time using airbnb, and I enjoyed staying there. The people were interesting and the environment was relaxed. They also had any resources I needed, and everything was systematized well (especially the kitchen).
