1 Room for $89
Our home is etched into a mountain and we share it with birds, deer and a variety of natural foliage. The decks out front provide a spectacular view of mountainous, wooded surroundings and a quaint downtown area which is just a 10 minute walk down the hill. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, fine wines and great restaurants, or simply an opportunity to get back to nature, this is a good place to do it all.
Our home was built in 1920 and is filled with happy memories. There are flower gardens, decks overlooking the town, a small orchard with various seasonal fruits. It is a good and relaxing place to spend time during the day and rest your head at night.
Guests will have access to a small jacuzzi, wireless internet, a small shed to store bikes, several decks, a living room, kitchen and bathroom to name a few. We have a Pack & Play highchair and toys for a small child. Additionally, we have a foam mat for an older child (7 and under) to sleep beside the bed.

I booked a room with Joanna and Rob while attending a seminar at Spirit Rock. The experience was outstanding! The care and attention to detail created such a warm and relaxing feeling it was hard to leave. The special yummy homemade treats and delightful conversation helped me feel so at home. I also appreciated when I retreated I had space to rest. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, so comfy and their home is clean and peaceful. The sunrise view each morning is glorious. A trip that I will always remember and look forward to experiencing again when I return to the area. I understand why they are Super Hosts!
Wow! Perfect match for me! I had read reviews for Joanna and Rob, where people commented about feeling comfortable and welcome right from the beginning of their visit, but that really is an understatement. After just a 2 night stay, I feel like part of their family. We had great conversations and quite a few laughs!
The room couldn't have been more comfortable, and the view was unbelievable, both day and night. Sunshine all day, and stars at night. Comfy, cozy bed, and surrounded (on 2 walls, anyway) by windows. Don't worry about privacy though. You're up so high on the mountain, and there are trees everywhere, so it's like you're in a bird nest! Oh, the breakfast! Fresh eggs with basil (grown right there in the kitchen!), fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and/or cappucino, the best homemade biscuits I've EVER had, yogurt with blueberries fresh from the garden, and homemade jams. I was even offered several choices for breakfast. Another special touch was finding a snack in my room when I arrived, and when I returned from a day of exploring the second day.
I felt so taken care of. Joanna checked on me to see if I needed anything, or if she could get me something. She was never intrusive, just genuinely caring. It was obvious that she and Rob really enjoyed being the best hosts they could possibly be. This was so much more than just a home to stay at. It was the perfect introduction to airbnb for me, and I'm sure I'll never find another home as welcoming as Joanna and Rob's.
I had an amazing time with Joanna and Rob! It was like visiting family, they were too generous! The food, room and location were also just as incredible. Highly recommended!
I had a wonderful stay with Joanna & Rob. I was warmly welcomed and there was a sweet little snack waiting in my room when I arrived which was a nice touch. They have a wonderful home in the hillsides of Fairfax with fantastic view of the city. The room was as described and Joanna was very attentive and kind. She made me a wonderful breakfast over which was shared a nice conversation about Homesteading.
I was completely happy with my stay and would definately stay again!
I decided to do something new to bring in 2015 . I messaged Joanna and Rob at the very last minute and they got back to me with an approved request very very fast. I could not think of a better way to bring the new year in… Joanna is real life fairy God mother. From drinking mint tea next to a warm fire to greeting the morning with a breathtaking view of cascading hills and the town below…every part of my experience at Home Haven was magical. Joanna and Rob are some of the most delightful people I've ever met and I will never forget them and their warm hospitality.
This is a fabulous place to stay! Joanna & Rob really go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable. They met me out in the street after dark on a rainy night to make sure I could find their house. Helped me with my bags. The room is very nice--great view, quiet, snacks & water provided. Joanna cooked a delicious breakfast each day--fresh muffins, pumpkin butter, yogurt with fresh raspberries, eggs, (email hidden)b & Joanna are very hospitable--we had great conversation every morning over breakfast. Their "estate" is beautiful. I would gladly stay there again!
My stay at home haven was something out of a fairytale. Joanna welcomed me the first night of my stay and we sat by her cozy fire! She even brought me S'mores supplies. They are some of the most generous and special people I have met on my many adventures traveling the world. Right away, Joanna asked what the purpose of my trip was. I intended to read and relax and did just that (and more)! Not only did Joanna cook delicious meals for me but she was an absolute pleasure to sit and get to know! She & Rob truly made me feel like family. The room was magical. The bed, oh my goodness the bed felt like a cloud! Each morning I woke up to the sunrise and watched the deer play in the yard below. The little details around the house are what make it so special. There are fresh flowers and leaves placed all around and anything you could possibly need has been laid out in the room for you. I would highly suggest staying with Joanna if you would like a nurturing and relaxing weekend away from home. She gave me suggestions to explore the storybook town of fairfax. I drove to Stinson beach one day along highway 1 and the drive was breathtaking. If your lucky Joanna will make you her special fresh baked biscuits as part of your breakfast in the morning. They are to die for. I will definitely be going back to stay at this new home away from home!

My husband Rob and my self enjoy opening our home to guests and have often been home stay parents to multi culture students attending Dominican University. Our hospitality has always received great reviews. I [Joanna] have worked at a local bed and breakfast and I delight in cooking. We love to travel and have been to Japan, England, France, Italy and Africa. Rob and I enjoy people and hope to make your stay restful and relaxing. We look forward to serving you and the possibility of perhaps hearing your story over a cup of tea or complementary wine.
