To experience Fairfax at its best, Home Haven is a good place to start. Amongst shady trees and curious forest animals is our home. Charming views in all directions make it easy to appreciate our quaint community and vast open space. We offer gardens, ponds, decks, and a fabulous breakfast.
Our home is etched into a mountain and we share it with birds, deer and a variety of natural foliage. The decks out front provide a spectacular view of mountainous, wooded surroundings and a quaint downtown area which is just a 10 minute walk down the hill. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, fine wines and great restaurants, or simply an opportunity to get back to nature, this is a good place to do it all.
Our home was built in 1920 and is filled with happy memories. There are flower gardens, decks overlooking the town, a small orchard with various seasonal fruits. It is a good and relaxing place to spend time during the day and rest your head at night.
Guests will have access to a small jacuzzi, wireless internet, a small shed to store bikes, several decks, a living room and kitchen. There is a microwave in one of the bedrooms..We have a Pack & Play, highchair and toys for a small child. Additionally, we have a foam mat for an older child (7 and under) to sleep beside the bed.
Interaction with Guests
Rob and I are a social couple who love traveling and meeting new people. We also enjoy cooking and look forward to providing breakfast each morning with fresh eggs from our chickens and hand picked fruit from our orchard in season.
We have two rooms available. Each has one twin bed, so we can accommodate two people at most. The rooms are small and quaint with many windows to appreciate this beautiful surrounding. It is a quiet and tranquil experience where most often the only noise is a gentle breeze or the sound of me cooking in the kitchen.
Pamper yourself- Esthetic services available,.. Facials, waxings, eyelash and brow tinting as well as body work on site with an appointment
We hope you come and enjoy it with us soon.
We live in a beautiful very safe neighborhood with wonderful neighbors and endless bike and hiking trials. Fairfax is famous in for all types of musical entertainment in the evenings. We are within an hour of beaches, the wine country and San Francisco We have maps and will hope to assist you with you're sightseeing plans.
We are a seven min. walk to the bus stop which also connects to the San Francisco Air-porter. We have two bikes to lend.

Joanna and her husband are extraordinary hosts. Their home is beautiful and they are warm and welcoming people. They clearly enjoy having people stay and show genuine interest in their guests. The rooms are lovely and the view is spectacular. Not to mention delicious homemade breakfast in the morning! We had such a nice time with them and would highly recommend them to anyone who is traveling through northern California.
Once again, it was a true joy to stay with Joanna and Rob. I'm glad I was able to share their home haven with those close to me from far away. Thank you for keeping us warm and full!
Home Haven was true to its word. A beautiful gem on the hill, a place of peace. Joanna was a gracious, warm and inviting hostess! My friend and I each had a room just for one night, but truly felt like we got a weeks worth of rest it was such a delightful place. Upon arrival we breathed in the perfect smell of honeysuckle and orange blossoms (or we thought maybe orange blossoms, definitely honeysuckles). And even were welcomed to eat a fig fresh from the tree.
There was information on Fairfax and a welcome in the rooms including a basket full of nice toiletry items should you forget. The beds gave us a great night sleep too, loved the pillows. After a long day hiking we enjoyed chatting in their cozy living room and ended the night with a dip in a fun secluded hot tub. The stars were beautiful from the view on their patio too. We enjoyed gazing over the town as you could see all the lights of the downtown area and could've walked there in 15 min if we wanted to.
Joanna made a delicious breakfast for us including fresh basil and tomatoes cut on top of the most delicious eggs from her chickens! I also enjoyed the delicious fresh press coffee and the little chalk board she had left the night before where I could indicate if I wanted coffee in the morning. Over breakfast and coffee we enjoyed our hostess and asking all kinds of questions and interesting conversation!
I can not say enough great things about the details Joanna puts into making your stay exquisite, inviting and relaxing. She even made sure we had a parking spot in front on the small road that winds up to her house. It makes you feel cared for!
Thank you for setting the bar for my first time using airbnb Joanna! It will definitely be my first choice in looking for BnB's now thanks to you.
I was in a difficult situation. While on vacation in the area my wife fell and broker her leg and ended up spending three nights at the hospital. Meanwhile I and my two children could not extend our stay at our hotel. I appealed to Joanna with my situation even though here room was for two and not three. She graciously welcomed us and made us feel at home. I would recommend Home Haven to anyone.
Joanna and Rob's home was just as beautiful as in the pictures. Joanna gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, including coming down to help us park since the street is narrow and parking a little bit of a challenge.
My friend and I spent one night there and the two separate rooms with twin beds were perfect for us. The rooms were clean and bright, with a tray of snacks and glass bottles of water. The mattresses were very comfortable and we both slept well. My friend loved the sound machine and listened to ocean waves all night.
Joanna made us a beautiful breakfast the next morning with fresh eggs and steaming hot biscuits - you cannot buy a breakfast like that in any restaurant!
Joanna's home is a real gem. Situated high on a hill in a lovely Fairfax neighborhood, they have created a very peaceful little plot of land with fruit trees, berries, chickens, flowers a goldfish pond and a jacuzzi! Truly a great place to relax in the sunshine. The house and the room were spotless, and we had a great breakfast of fresh chicken eggs and garden fruit that was included. Had a lovely time- Joanna was a lovely host! Highly recommended.

My husband Rob and my self enjoy opening our home to guests and have often been home stay parents to multi culture students attending Dominican University. Our hospitality has always received great reviews. I [Joanna] have worked at a local bed and breakfast and I delight in cooking. We love to travel and have been to Japan, England, France, Italy and Africa. Rob and I enjoy people and hope to make your stay restful and relaxing. We look forward to serving you and the possibility of perhaps hearing your story over a cup of tea or complementary wine.
