To experience Fairfax at its best, Home Haven is a good place to start. Amongst shady trees and curious forest animals is our home. Charming views in all directions make it easy to appreciate our quaint community and vast open space. We offer gardens, ponds, decks, and a fabulous breakfast.
1 Room for $85
Our home is etched into a mountain and we share it with birds, deer and a variety of natural foliage. The decks out front provide a spectacular view of mountainous, wooded surroundings and a quaint downtown area which is just a 10 minute walk down the hill. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, fine wines and great restaurants, or simply an opportunity to get back to nature, this is a good place to do it all.
Our home was built in 1920 and is filled with happy memories. There are flower gardens, decks overlooking the town, a small orchard with various seasonal fruits. It is a good and relaxing place to spend time during the day and rest your head at night.
Guests will have access to a small jacuzzi, wireless internet, a small shed to store bikes, several decks, a living room, kitchen and bathroom to name a few. We have a Pack & Play highchair and toys for a small child. Additionally, we have a foam mat for an older child (7 and under) to sleep beside the bed.

Rob and I are a social couple who love traveling and meeting new people. We also enjoy cooking and look forward to providing breakfast each morning with fresh eggs from our chickens and hand picked fruit from our orchard.
The room is airy and quaint with many windows to appreciate this beautiful surrounding. It is a quiet and tranquil experience where most often the only noise is a gentle breeze or the sound of me cooking in the kitchen or a chicken congratulating her self on a newly laid egg!
We hope you come and enjoy it with us soon.
We have wonderful friendly neighbors, and endless lovely trails for hikers and bikers.

Joanna and Rob were very welcoming from the moment they greeted me in front of their home to help me with parking my car. They welcomed me into their home with tea and cookies and we had a lovely chat about my profession as a teacher. It showed me that they were interested in getting to know their guests and making me feel comfortable. My was very clean, quiet, and I loved the little touches Joanna and Rob placed in there; the little "Oops, I forgot" box, the bathrobe, and snacks were very thoughtful and kind. The next morning, I was greeted by a delicious breakfast made by Joanna and a beautiful view of the mountains that surrounded their home. Overall, they made my first stay with Air BnB a very memorable one and I look forward to coming back to their home in the future.
Joanna and Rob made me feel like I was a part of their family. I was humbled by their graceful, artistic and downright ministerial hospitality. From carrying my bags up their many steps, to holding a front and center parking space for me each evening, and mostly to being open to sharing themselves wholeheartedly. This was an incredible experience and just right if you'd like a solo retreat, or maybe share restorative time with one other friend.
Everything about their home called out, "Welcome, we care about you!" Little gourmet cheese snacks were left in my room each evening and every morning was a feast of scones, fresh eggs, homemade yogurt, and espresso! (I'm not kidding!!) The first evening, Joanna and Rob were heading out with friends and I was left to snuggle up in front of the fire AND (!) roast marshmellows if I so chose -- incredible. They were wonderfully sensitive hosts and gave me quiet space if I so desired, but were also around and open to chatting too. We had lots of deep talks over scrumptious breakfasts looking out to a stunning view.
As if this wasn't enough, on my last night there, I also had a fabulous and very reasonably priced facial and consultation from Giovanna, a professional esthetician who lives just downstairs. All in all, staying with Joanna and Rob was a healing and renewing experience not to be missed.
A Bird's Eye Too is a lovely place to stay. Joanna and Rob were very gracious hosts. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, the view beautiful and the breakfast delicious. Thanks very much for your hospitality. Manohar
Staying with Joanna and Rob was such a wonderful experience!
I felt comfortable and at home from the moment i walked in.
Joanna was really helpful and attentive with any questions i had, and such a giving soul. Every morning she made me scrambled eggs from her chickens, and a piece of fruit with crackers and cheese sitting next to a hand picked rose from their garden.. Ahh!
I highly recommend staying with Joanna and Rob, and i will definitely be back. These are two beautiful and spirited beings who truly love to host people in their sanctuary. Good for the Soul!
I had a wonderful, relaxing time staying with Joanna and Rob in their beautiful home. They were inviting, warm, outstanding hosts which took the time and care to get to know you. My stay was short, but I enjoyed being pampered by their conversation, sweet & sincere prayers of encouragement, treats in the room, and delicious homemade breakfast. I definitely would return should I pass through this serene and scenic area again.
Thank you Laura, for the nice review and the input. We generally have guests call us from Fairfax and go over the logistics then.. also we meet them in the street to assist with the parking. We don't want them to get anxious with out need because parking is a little dicy! You however were a trooper and figured it out yourself! A pleasure meeting you. Lovingly, Joanna
Wow, where do I start? From the welcome beverage to the hearty breakfast prepared by Joanna before my departure - comprising fresh eggs and green figs from her garden - Joanna and Rob have outdone themselves as hosts! I feel tremendously blessed to have met this couple and found shelter under their roof. Everything about the stay was on point, and Joanna's little touches and gestures made the stay truly one of a kind. Thank you to you both!
Wonderful spotless home on Tamalpais and Joanna and Rob are exceptionally warm and welcoming.

My husband Rob and my self enjoy opening our home to guests and have often been home stay parents to multi culture students attending Dominican University. Our hospitality has always received great reviews. I [Joanna] have worked at a local bed and breakfast and I delight in cooking. We love to travel and have been to Japan, England, France, Italy and Africa. Rob and I enjoy people and hope to make your stay restful and relaxing. We look forward to serving you and the possibility of perhaps hearing your story over a cup of tea or complementary wine.
