Hello and welcome! Hundreds of airbnb guests have so far stayed at this bright, airy, colourful and quirky one-bedroom flat with stunning views over London. We have a daily market just downstairs for everything you'll need. The nearest tube is 30 seconds walk away, and the bus stop and even a bike hire station right outside so you're well connected to anywhere you'll want to go, with central London 20-50 minutes away.
The flat includes a fully equipped and functioning kitchen, super fast wifi, a living room with dining table and huge windows so you get fabulous sunlight all day, fabulous sunsets and fabulous views all night. The bathroom is colourfully decorated and has a just-fitted thermostatic shower meaning a nice hot shower is always available no matter how many guests. There is also a bath if you need to unwind after a day of playing tourist.
The main bedroom has a huge big comfy king-size bed and a lovely comfy sofa, together with a table and chair. Hairdryer, iron and all that jazz readily available. Lovely fluffy towels and plenty of linen provided for every guest.
A relaxing and friendly place to chill while on holiday, or a place to sleep a group of up to 10 young friends on a weekend break.
Very well connected to many amenities, with very easy access to Greenwich, The Olympic Park and Tower Bridge, also we are near the river, many canals and parks and marinas, and lots of great restaurants. Also for work, we are 10 minutes from Canary Wharf or ExCel and very close to City Airport.
Easy access to central London and especially London’s hipster East End!
I am an artist, film-maker and DJ, and the flat is accordingly a quirkily decorated creative place, with splashes of colour, lots of art and even loads of disco balls! The living room also boasts a home cinema projector available for use by request.

SOME NOTES ON AMENITIES
THERE IS NO TV - only a video projector available for use by prior request. I have ticked TV on the listing, because it is possible to watch TV using the projector and/or a laptop. Also, I would be happy to buy a TV if you really want one. Just ask.
PARKING - You need to ask in advance for this so that I can organise it.

Please note that my pricing is too sophisticated for this site - the price per person per night is between £18 and £85, depending on a number of factors. Please make an enquiry to find out the price, or check out the pricing diagram in the photos.
Please also note some temporary measures I sometimes have in place (for example in high season, or when there is some refurb going on):
- The minimum total booking is £100 per night or £400 total booking.
- It is not suitable for families of ANY description, even if every member is an adult. I don't take on groups with more than one generation of the same family*
- It is not suitable for pets.*
- It is not suitable for people under 16*
*this is a guide. I am not totally strict on this, and in certain circumstances it could be ok. Please just always make sure you discuss these things with me.
ACCESS TO ROOMS
If you take just the room, you have general access to the whole flat, but your access to the kitchen and living room is very slightly limited. However, access to the kitchen can be arranged at any time. Please ask me for details.
A kettle, toaster, and - if required - microwave oven, together with tea & coffee making facilities, are available in your room for your convenience.
The bedroom is for your sole use and the bathroom shared with me.
Obviously, if you are taking the whole flat, then all rooms are for your sole use.
Interaction with Guests
This varies and is difficult to predict. There have been times when guests have stayed when I am out of town, I'm which case they do not even meet me once - other times I have been at home a lot and not busy and have spent a lot of time with guests, even going out around town with them and eating / watching movies together.
Of course, if you prefer to be left alone, that's fine too.
Either way, if this aspect is important to you please let me know and we can discuss it prior to your stay. I always try to make my guests happy. Sometimes it will suit us both to be sociable, sometimes it will be the opposite.
You are literally living right in the thick of a bustling east end market, with lots of life, vitality and amenities literally at your doorstep: cheap fruit & veg, butchers, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, and canals.
Also in East London within easy reach are Canary Wharf, ExCel, London City Airport, The O2, Greenwich Park & Museums, The Olympic Park, Victoria Park and much more.
The station to take you to central London is 30 seconds walk, also a bus stop 30 seconds walk and a bike hire station even closer.
It takes only a few minutes to get to the nearest "centre" area with lots of shops, restaurants and other hang-oouts. If it's Central London you're after, that will take you between 20-50 minutes, depending on the time of day, mode of transport, and which part of central London you want. On average you can be at Oxford Street in about 45 minutes.

The flat is quite small for groups of more than 4-6. Please get in touch if your group is bigger than this and we can discuss if it is suitable. Normally this works best if it's a group of young friends staying a few nights. Just get in touch! Anything is possible. I am driven by my guests' needs.
I’m not really one for “rules”, but as airbnb has asked me for it, I’ve put together this – I prefer to see these as guidelines.
Before arriving and when arriving:
1.If you are not coming alone, you must make sure every member of your group has all the same information as you. Make sure they read the listing on the site, see the pictures and reviews, and read any information or other literature I send.
2.Please let me know well in advance your estimated arrival time and leaving time.
3.Please make sure every member of your group has ID or passport so I can photocopy this. Better still, bring copies or send me scans or photos of everyone’s ID before arriving.
4.If you wanna use the printer, DVD or VHS player, amplifier, or projector, and it’s important to you (i.e. you’re not prepared to just wing it) please let me know well in advance of your stay, so we can discuss the possibilities and I have time to set it up.
5.Please also let me know your preferred sleeping arrangements well in advance of your stay, so I know how many beds to prepare and in what room.
6.I allow guests to make their own rules regarding smoking. Please let me know in advance what your smoking rules are. You can ban smoking completely, allow it only in certain rooms, or allow smoking freely. I will also observe your smoking rules – but if I don’t know what they are then I can’t observe them! (I smoke a little, rarely in the house, but sometimes I do). This one is kinda irrelevant if you have booked the whole flat, but still – if you are an ardent non-smoker or are allergic to any trace of smokiness, please let me know in advance so we can discuss it and I can make sure I fully get rid of any traces as best I can.
7.I’m not keen on hosting pets, especially if you are sharing with me, so please let me know in advance if you have a pet and we can discuss it. If I have allowed you to have a pet, please ensure you tidy up after it.
During your stay:
1.There is a cupboard designated to you in the kitchen, and the top shelf of the fridge. Help yourself to anything you find already in these, and also tea, coffee, sugar, herbs, spices, oils, condiments and margarine. Anything else edible in the kitchen is mine so please don’t nick it, or ask me if in doubt. Things like rice and pasta and potatoes I’m pretty cool about.
2.Please don’t answer the door or the intercom (unless you are expecting a member of your group). If I am in, leave it to me. If I am out, please leave it.
3.Please use the recycling bins in the kitchen and clean stuff before throwing it. If bins get full please dispose appropriately out the back of the building.
4.Please observe etiquette when then living room becomes my bedroom or private office (see house manual)
5.Consumables such as printer ink, paper and detergent, shampoo, soap and toothpaste are provided as a courtesy – I won’t be held accountable if there is none. Also, if you use a lot of it or empty it – please replace it or at least let me know.
6.Please water the plants whenever they look thirsty and generally look after them.
7.Don’t play music or watch films loudly, and please avoid doing it at all after 11pm.
8.Don’t make a lot of noise in general please!
9.If you break something, please replace it or at least let me know. If you spill something please clean it up.
10.When going out, please do a quick check – is the cooker off? Are the lights off? Do you have your key? Have you locked the door behind you? (It locks itself)
1.Please leave the place generally clean & tidy – I don’t expect you to be thorough but please give it a once over.
2.Leave your key on a table.
3.I prefer it if you leave all linen in situ – please don’t remove from beds or do any laundry.
4.Please leave unused towels neatly folded so that I know not to launder them.
AFTER YOUR STAY
Please let me know any problems you had with the flat (that I can fix) – I really really want my guests to be happy, but if people don’t tell me what was wrong, I can’t fix it! Thanks!
Alex was the perfect host. I stayed with him for a whole month and couldn't have made a better choice. The description of his place is very accurate and if there is anything that bothers his guest, he wouldn't hesitate to solve the issue.
He provided everything needed any even a detailed description of everything in and around the house.
Alex definitely knows what he is doing and I can without any hesitation recommend staying with him.
Wall was 100% as I expected, I can recommend Alex and room as excellent choice for bnb.
The flat is really nice. Alex make sure everthing was clean and the view is really awesome! Good location, in front to the DLR station. Close to Canary Wharf. The flat is near to supermaket and pharmacie as has some simple places to eat around.

We, a group of 6 french students, stayed in Alex's accommodation for 4 nights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the flat, and had a really good time. We met Alex for the handing over keys and it all went very well.
Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the flat. We had to clean the kitchen during more than 2 hours when we arrived whereas we had just spent a long 8 hours journey... Not really thrilling
But that is the only wrong point. On the whole, Alex's flat can fit very well to young "cool" people, and its proximity to the underground station is really practical (less than 1mn of walk!).
I wonder how many members of the group thought it was necessary to spend 2 hours cleaning the kitchen. I would guess it was 1 or 2. The washing up had been done, the floor mopped, all surfaces wiped down and the cooker and fridge were clean. What else can I say?
This is a very unfair review. "We had to clean the kitchen during more than 2 hours when we arrived" is simply not true - they didn't "have" to - they decided (or one member of their group more likely, with OCD, decided) that they wanted to.
This review makes it sound like the kitchen was not clean when they arrived. It was - I had spent an hour cleaning it myself. I honestly cannot imagine what took them 2 hours to clean! They told me that the utensils and pans were not clean. Well, my pans hang above the stove, exposed, as is the case in many kitchens, and any pans which do not get used for a while build up a bit of oiliness. Also there was a little few tiny water stains on some of the cutlery. If you are a prospective guest reading this, then take note: I DO NOT DO A DEEP CLEAN OF THE HOUSE BEFORE EVERY GUEST. And I am not going to change a thing on the basis of this review. If I did a deep clean every time I had a new guest it would be ridiculous.
I clean the flat - especially the kitchen - thoroughly to make sure it is tidy and hygienic, but cleaning every unused pan and polishing every piece of cutlery is something I might do once or twice a year, during a deep clean.
It's a shame that I can't change my review of this group - because after reading their review, I would certainly not recommend them as guests. I need laid-back people in my house, not people who are gonna go around with a magnifying glass and call an ambulance if they see one breadcrumb.
Alex was a great host in remote. He let us use all the facilities of the flat and responded promotly to our quieries.
The flat is spacious and has an amazing sunset view both in the livingroom and the guest room. It is very well connected by public transports (steps away from all saints dlr station and lots of buses to central London).
We, a family of five, thoroughly enjoyed our four day vist to London thanks to Alex's flat: its quirky interior, breathtaking view and convenient location. The flat is across from the tube station and bus stop both on an easy and interesting route into the West End. Restaurants and pubs are two tube stops away and the Tower of London is fifteen minutes by underground.
Alex made sure we were well informed (on the flat and its surroundings) and was at the flat to meet us on arrival. We couldn't have asked for a better first visit for our kids to this great city. Thank you.

A relaxed London guy in my 30s, I work in art, music, events and film. I lead quite a busy life and also have quite a hectic social life! I go out dancing and socialising quite a lot.
I try to cycle around London, always finding new bits after 16 years here and loving living in the East End.
As a host I try to leave guests to themselves as much as possible unless you need help with the flat or advice on the local area or getting around London. However, if you want to socialise with me that's fine if I'm available. If it's an important part of your trip please tell me in advance and I'll let you know if I will be able to give you a tour or take you out!
As well as keeping the flat functional on a day-to-day basis, I will also listen to any reasonable requests you have for things I should buy or improvements I should make.
