Interaction with Guests
We are more than happy to answer any questions you have and welcome you to contact us if you have any concerns.
Our neighborhood is a country setting with most properties in the area being between 2-6 acres in size. The road down from the highway is a slow country road that sees our neighbors walking their dogs, riding horses, doing exercise walks, and kids learning to ride their bicycles. From Highway to the bay, the road is about 1 mile long, and our farm is located about halfway to the bay.
Maui's North Shore is a rugged shore with breath taking views. The coastline is a mix of cliffs and rocky shores. Pilale (sweetheart) Bay is about 1/2 mile from our property. Many people like to sit at the top and enjoy the panoramic views and exceptionally clear water of the bay. Some of our adventurous guests enjoy hiking down the path to the secluded shore.
Our location is 5 miles away from the World Famous Big Wave surf spot "Jaws." And 8 miles away from one of the World's Best Windsurfing beaches, Ho`okipa Beach Park. We are also about 7 miles away from the quaint country town of Haiku that has several great restaurants and small shops.
There is no public transit that comes out this far, so a rental car is highly recommended.
Other Things to Note
Close enough for a short day drive to the south side of the island to visit the "tourist" beaches, but you can still get back to the country to get out of the hustle and bustle and get back to the natural and beautiful version of Hawaii.
Our unit is non smoking.
We ask that our guests be respectful of our land and to not make lots of crazy loud noises late at night.
Jeremiah was super nice. I spoke to his mother on the phone before we arrived and she gave us great directions. Jeremiah welcomed us in and showed us around. He had some great suggestions on what to do in the area and had a positive and welcoming attitude.
The space is gorgeous. The view from the studio is one of the best I've had in a place I stayed in and we really enjoyed listening to the birds and the rain. It was quite peaceful and we were sad to leave. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful and serene place in Maui.
Really great place to take a vacation！ The house is build in a jungle which is as described. BUT, internal facility and environment is much better than the pictures showed！
It is a pity we only stayed two nights and we did not have time to say goodbye to Jeremia and his mother.
Highly recommend you to stay in this house.
While we did not actually meet Jeremiah, his mother was friendly, sweet, and immensely helpful in our getting to know the island. The photographs do not do the studio justice -- we found it quite spacious -- and the views are simply beautiful. The sound of the wind through the trees, the view of the sea across the tree tops, the short walk down to a private cove -- all made for a very relaxing, peaceful stay.
A huge token of gratitude to Mary and her family for sharing their home with us. The accommodations were absolutely perfect and it was inspiring to see a sustainable family farm forty years in the making. Thanks to a lovely conversation with Mary on arrival, we learned about the history of the land and got an insider's perspective on all the North Shore destinations. Her guidance led us to some of our favorite moments on this trip. Mahalo!
We arrived late at night to a wonderful welcome by Mary - the basket of fruit was greatly appreciated after a flight with bad food. And the coffee was also a much appreciated in the morning. And what a morning! What mornings! One of my favourite things on our trip to Maui was waking up in the mornings to a view of the forest, birds chirping, the sky slowly turning colour. The pictures in the listing actually do not convey the beauty of the place. Everyday we were in Maui, we gave thanks that we had chosen to stay at Mary and Jeremiah's place. Clean, comfortable, it was a quiet respite from the tourists, though an easy drive to nearby Haiku for reasonably good breakfasts at Colleen's, if we didn't feel like cooking (the kitchen was . A little further away is Paia for great grocery shopping at Mana Food, fabulous cocktails and Korean-inspired food at Dazoo and bikini shopping at everywhere! The location on Maui was perfect for us. Central enough to easily access all the must-dos on Maui - the drive to Hana, watching the surf on the Northshore, snorkelling and beaches on West and South West Maui.. really, perfect, perfect, perfect. We were sorry to miss Jeremiah, but delighted to meet and get to know his mother Mary, who gave us great tips about where to go; and also told us wonderful stories of living on Maui for many many years. We were sad to leave and would recommend unequivocally it to all our friends.
Road-to-Hana daytrippers look no further! This place is in the perfect location for the drive to Hana. Roughly 15 min drive from Paia, where you can stock up on goodies at Mana foodstore for both your stay at the studio and the roadtrip and 10 min from the fabulous Mamma's Fish House for your romantic evening out. This studio is for people who like the eco-living style of life and/or gorgeous views in a tranquil setting. Waking up to birdsong and lush views after the best sleep I've had in months; Northshore perfection. Two very friendly pets (cat and dog), who will also keep to themselves if you prefer. Check out time is a little early if you like lie-ins, but you'll be out the door before 8am if you're doing the roadtrip anyway.
