About this listing
A Special Place. Romantic, Quiet, Tucked Away.
A refuge from the City, in a safe neighborhood, minutes from Santa Barbara, and world class pristine beaches!
The cottage is architecturally preserved and built to last. It has lots of storage cupboards, and the charm of the 1940's. Original hardwood floors throughout, french doors and oversized wood windows. An efficient gravity heater warms the house without a sound, so that the orchestral display of sound from our visiting bird population can be heard throughout the day. No need for air conditioning. We are blessed with a Pacific ocean current even on the warmest days. There is a full bath, with shower and tub, a bedroom with large windows and a pull out sofabed in the Living Room for 2 additional guests. The surrounding gardens are mature, with 12 foot high honeysuckle hedges, bougainvillea, trumpet vines and trees. The moment you step onto the property, you feel a sense of serenity and calm, as you are enveloped with greenery and perfumed air. Privacy, peace and a stone's throw away from all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay in lovely Montecito, which in Chumash means "little woods".
The Burnham Wood Golf Course is less than a block away.
If you arrived without a car, there is a Santa Barbara bus transit system that stops 1/2 block away to take you into Downtown Santa Barbara. Driving, you are close to everything: beaches, hiking trails, shopping, restaurants, and more.

Suzanne was very attentive and customer-focused, which made our visit easy and stress-free. The cottage was clean, well appointed, and so comfortable after a long day's travels. The cottage itself and grounds were vintage Santa Barbara, adding to our experience, and the surrounding neighborhood quiet for a fitful night's sleep. Would highly recommend to others (and already have ;)
The cottage is a lovely get-away just off the main road of Montecito. The place is bigger than it looks in the pictures - a nice surprise! Well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Suzanne has notes all around the house with instructions and tips. And she was available to us if we had questions (which we didn't!). I highly recommend this cottage/house!
This is a wonderful home tucked in Montecito. It was more than I expected. An absolutely beautiful property, well maintained and private. Suzanne was a flexible hostess. I arrived earlier than check-in and she was kind enough to show me around and let me leave my luggage. The home is perfect, parking was easy on the street. I wish I could have spent more time enjoying the property.
Lovely, hassle-free experience. Suzanne's home is exactly as pictured. Cozy with everything we needed for a 3 night stay. It was so nice to come "home", rather than to a hotel, and felt like we were truly living there. Close to Pacifica Graduate Institute, the ocean, and Santa Barbara. It's so quiet in the neighborhood, you can hear a pin drop, which is something LA natives could grow to appreciate. Suzanne was responsive and helpful, and hopefully we will meet her during a future stay, since our schedule was tight this time around. Our favorite experience there was cooking in her beautiful kitchen!
We loved the charmingly decorated cottage and neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting in the front garden and in the back garden watching the fog roll over the hill, The beds were very comfortable. Suzanne is very thoughtful and considerate. Thanks Suzanne!
