Interaction with Guests
I work at my cafe allot, so most interaction is greeting you and getting you settled in, and if you visit my cafe. I am around on the weekends gardening if I am not at the beach!
Very quiet neighborhood in the Sunset area.
Central location minutes to town, dinning, beaches, theaters, restaurants, shopping, ect. However would advise renting a vehicle to enjoy all the Big Island has to offer!
Other Things to Note
Please note there is no kitchen sink in the breakfast nook. If you use the breakfast nook, you will need to use the bathroom sink to rinse. We hope to remodel into a full kitchen in the future (daily rate will go up). Also note, the Hawaiian stone steps leading to the entrance are probably not for the frail and elderly (see pics) Well behaved children are welcome!
No Smoking inside and outside gardens- anywhere on the property.
No barbecuing after 10 pm.
Wonderful place and the host! I would say that this place worths $400 per night. We are a big party, we arrived very late and leave late as well. Carol accommodated us and made everything perfect. We would definitely return in the future.
My husband and I traveled out to the big island for a nice and relaxing getaway for 8 days. We spent half of our time on the island at Carols place, and I must say, this suite was everything we could have hoped for and more as first time airbnb-ers. Amazing location to downtown Kona, as well as all the major streets needed to get to the major beaches/snorkling and destination spots. Carol was an amazing and friendly host, always there for us when we had questions regarding some good local spots! The place was clean, and the view of the ocean from the suite was unbelievable. Huge bed (which was great after a long day of hiking and swimming) and great snorkel/beach gear that we were able to borrow. I would not only recommend this suite to one of my friends, but I would also recommend it to anyone looking to shell out 100's of dollars for a hotel. This is a much better option for a much greater value! We will definitely stay here on our next trip to the big island!
We stayed four nights at the appartment from Carol. It was just perfect, we really enjoyed the big balcony with the wonderful view and beautiful sunsets. Carol was all the time nice and helped us with all our question. We recommend this to everyone!
The bamboo suite is great and spacious. It is well maintained and was clean and prepared when we arrived. Carol was very nice and communication was easy. Everything is as described and the location is pretty superb. You can watch the sunset from a nice lanai. Would recommend it anytime and was sad to leave after only a few days. Nothing more to say.
Carol and the home were great! My mom, aunt, bf, and I felt very welcomed with a last minute booking. Carol is very friendly and relaxed and wants her guests to feel comfortable! The location is great and Carol has many insights about the island. Also Carol graciously provides beach items such as chairs, snorkeling gear, and beach towels! Tip for next guests: don't expect to cook too much since you don't have access to a full kitchen, but there are great restaurants you can ask Carol about! Thank you for a great stay. Mahalo!
Enjoyed meeting you and your group. Kitchen is fully explained on Air B&B, sorry you missed it. Tip to guests- please take the time to read all the information I have provided, so you have no surprises! I always want guests to be happy with the accommodations, I am up front on exactly what to expect!!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Bed, Breakfast, and Boat! Carol was extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. She also suggested some nice beaches to visit in the area - my personal favorite was Kua Bay (thanks for the recommendation, Carol!). The apartment itself was very clean and had fantastic, amazing views - especially at sunset! The apartment is on the lower level of her house, which is very nice and convenient as it has its own private entrance. There were four of us total staying here during our visit to Kailua-Kona, and we definitely had plenty of room. Mahalo, Carol!
Carol was a great host. Her lower level area with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, partial kitchenette, private lanai with ocean views, and private entrance was perfect for us. Wish we'd booked longer! Carol was always available to answer questions about which beach to hit or to lend beach stuff. And she's not intrusive at all, very casual. Mahalo, Carol.
