Just a 5 minute walk to Surf Beach, this clean, sunny, fully equipped house is a great for family or friends to get together for a seaside get away. Campfire under the stars, long walks on the beach or cycle the bike track to Cowes or San Remo.
It's an old house, but with new fittings and new hot water service. A short stroll to the end of the road takes you to a really beautiful surf beach, with lots of rock pools for the kids to explore. This area is one of natures finest and the lovely quiet neighbourhood offers a perfect city break. The surf beach general store is also close by and stocks everything you need.
1 room has 1 double bed & 2 single bunks (sleeps 4), another room has a queen size bed and one more room has a double bed (slightly smaller than standard double) but still big enough to sleep 2. There is also a very comfortable couch.
Interaction with Guests
The owner lives in a Bungalow out the back & may or may not be there while you stay. Privacy of guests will be respected at all times, however you are always welcome to drop by to ask questions. You are most welcome to use the back yard, however please note that this is a shared space.
Phillip Island is a delight for nature lovers, with it's wildlife and beautiful beaches. Surf beach is central to all areas of the island and is just a 10 minute drive away from the greatest attraction on the island, the Penguin Parade. The Koala Conservation Centre is just a couple of kilometers down the road and the shearwaters are nesting in the dunes down the end of the street.
Phillip Island is also a mecca for motorcycle enthusiasts as the venue for Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
These web sites are a great resource for finding out more about everything the Island has to offer.
The v-line bus stops at the general store, just 5 minute walk away and runs to /from Spencer St in the city.
There is also a regular bus service running from Wonthaggi to the island
Other Things to Note
Please note that my kitchen has a very small bench top oven, big enough to heat a small pizza, roast or cake but not bake a feast. It does have all other cooking facilities that you may need, 4 electric hotplates, microwave, bbq etc.
** I have WIFI however we are limited to ADSL2 which can be quite slow at times, but this is the best they have to offer on the island. Connection can really slow down when there are many people on the island
The house is available for single night bookings, provided it is left super clean and will include linen for 2 beds only. An extra $10 will be charged for each set of linen (per bed) that needs to be laundered. If you bring your own linen, then the additional cost does not apply.
Please note that we ahve strict regulations for having open fires in Australia and that we must never use the fire pit on Total fire Ban days. Please check this website before using outdoor fire pit (website hidden)
Stacey was a lovely host with lots of tips for our stay on the island. The accommodation was also perfect - very cosy and within short walking distance of the beautiful beach or drive to the penguins and koalas. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at Stacey's Beach House. It was perfect for our family of five - plenty of beds and personal space for everyone. The location of the house is great - just down the street from a beautiful beach, and equidistant from Cowes and San Remo. (Our teenagers were happily surprised that the wifi worked better than we expected!) The house was clean and comfortable and has the funky feel of a beach cabin or cottage. Stacey was wonderful - very responsive and easy to work with. She has great advice about the penguins and the beaches, and is happy to loan bikes, surfboards, and boogie boards.
Really enjoy the lovely house. We saw lots of penguins. People in the island are very friendly.
Stacey was there on hand upon our arrival with a warm welcome and and local knowledge. Her home proved to be a cosy retreat from which to explore Phillip Island. A comfortable homely space that made for a relaxing and pleasant stay.
We had a good time at Stacey's house. We have total 8 people and we were very comfortable there. We were on road for so long so it was nice to sit down in house and enjoy. Everything was very clean and she provided us more blanket also for night. I wish i would have more days to stay there and enjoy it more. Next time i am staying at her house. It's very close to beach and Penguin parade also only 15 minute drive.
I didn't get to see her because of late arrival and leaving early in the morning. Communication with her was very easy. I would recommend to anyone to stay at her house. Thanks Stacey.
HI Zankhana, I'm so sorry I wrote a very positive review for you, however it looks like the submit button didn't go through and now I have missed the deadline. I have written to air bnb to try and get the review to go through. You guys were wonderful guests and I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend you to future hosts. Thank you for choosing to stay at Surf Beach and being such wonderful guests. Stace
We stayed at Stacey's place for our wedding anniversary and would highly recommend staying here. We used the main bedroom which was quiet and the bed was really comfortable. We took our dog, which was great as there are some beaches to take him for walks on. The property is not fully fenced however. There are wonderful beaches within 3 mins walk and Cowes is only 10 minutes by car.
After living in China for over a decade, I've decide it's time to spend more time back in Australia. My lovely little beach shack is such a welcoming contrast to living in the Middle Kingdom. I have my own business in Beijing, so therefore I still spend quite a lot of time traveling. I'm also a little addicted to tango dancing so frequently head to Melbourne to pursue this passion.
My house is a 3 bedroom house, with a self contained bungalow out the back. After years living in a small apartment, I find that I have more than enough room and have therefore settled nicely into the bungalow. This means that my house is free to let out during times when my own friends & family are not visiting.
I am a qualified, fully registered primary school teacher and work as a relief teacher when I am not traveling or working on my business. If you need a baby sitter, I may even be able to help you out.
I also dabble in a bit of art and so my bungalow doubles as my studio. I look forward to sharing my house with other interesting, creative people.
I also understand that you may want complete privacy during your beach break, so apart from initial introduction, you will not see me unless you have a special request.
