Just a 5 minute walk to Surf Beach, this clean, sunny, fully equipped house is a great for family or friends to get together for a seaside get away. Campfire under the stars, long walks on the beach or cycle the bike track to Cowes or San Remo.
It's an old house, but with new fittings and new hot water service. A short stroll to the end of the road takes you to a really beautiful surf beach, with lots of rock pools for the kids to explore. This area is one of natures finest and the lovely quiet neighbourhood offers a perfect city break. The surf beach general store is also close by and stocks everything you need.
1 room has 1 double bed & 2 single bunks (sleeps 4), another room has a queen size bed and one more room has a double bed (slightly smaller than standard double) but still big enough to sleep 2. There is also a very comfortable couch.
Interaction with Guests
The owner lives in a Bungalow out the back & may or may not be there while you stay. Privacy of guests will be respected at all times, however you are always welcome to drop by to ask questions. You are most welcome to use the back yard, however please note that this is a shared space.
Phillip Island is a delight for nature lovers, with it's wildlife and beautiful beaches. Surf beach is central to all areas of the island and is just a 10 minute drive away from the greatest attraction on the island, the Penguin Parade. The Koala Conservation Centre is just a couple of kilometers down the road and the shearwaters are nesting in the dunes down the end of the street.
Phillip Island is also a mecca for motorcycle enthusiasts as the venue for Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
These web sites are a great resource for finding out more about everything the Island has to offer.
The v-line bus stops at the general store, just 5 minute walk away and runs to /from Spencer St in the city.
There is also a regular bus service running from Wonthaggi to the island
Other Things to Note
Please note that my kitchen has a very small bench top oven, big enough to heat a small pizza, roast or cake but not bake a feast. It does have all other cooking facilities that you may need, 4 electric hotplates, microwave, bbq etc.
** I have WIFI however we are limited to ADSL2 which can be quite slow at times, but this is the best they have to offer on the island. Connection can really slow down when there are many people on the island
The house is available for single night bookings, provided it is left super clean and will include linen for 2 beds only. An extra $10 will be charged for each set of linen (per bed) that needs to be laundered. If you bring your own linen, then the additional cost does not apply.
Please note that we ahve strict regulations for having open fires in Australia and that we must never use the fire pit on Total fire Ban days. Please check this website before using outdoor fire pit (website hidden)
Stacey's beach house was just as described. It was a lovely stay! The beach is just a few minutes walk and it is really a beautiful walk. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and the host was very friendly and easy to communicate with
We stayed 2 days in Stacey's house. It is a wonderful place!the house is really clean and cosy. Just 3 minutes walking from an amazing beach. Stacey, the best host, was really helpful with some tips of phillip island. My experience is a 10
We do love Stacey's house. It is clean and has everything we need. It has a big yard to let us to sit down and enjoy the sun. The house is just on the road to the penguin park. And there is a nice beach less than 5 mins walk. Our boy told us that he wants to stay longer. Stacey is a nice lady who prepared a information book of the island to let us know where to go and call to tell me more things I need to know. And the beds are comfortable . Everything is ready for us to use. Thank you Stacey!
We stayed there only one night 4 adults and 2,5 years child. House was big and cleaned there was all necessary, beddings, towels, soap etc. It is located in very nice area just short walk to the beach. We went to the other beach at cape Woolamai though. The owner was not at home but she left us clear instructions how to retrieve the key. We haven’t used wi-fi but there was a possibility to have it.
Kitchen was small but all essential was there. The only thing when is really hot there is not air conditioning only a fan. We definitely would recommend this location.
After living in China for over a decade, I've decide it's time to spend more time back in Australia. My lovely little beach shack is such a welcoming contrast to living in the Middle Kingdom. I have my own business in Beijing, so therefore I still spend quite a lot of time traveling. I'm also a little addicted to tango dancing so frequently head to Melbourne to pursue this passion.
My house is a 3 bedroom house, with a self contained bungalow out the back. After years living in a small apartment, I find that I have more than enough room and have therefore settled nicely into the bungalow. This means that my house is free to let out during times when my own friends & family are not visiting.
I am a qualified, fully registered primary school teacher and work as a relief teacher when I am not traveling or working on my business. If you need a baby sitter, I may even be able to help you out.
I also dabble in a bit of art and so my bungalow doubles as my studio. I look forward to sharing my house with other interesting, creative people.
I also understand that you may want complete privacy during your beach break, so apart from initial introduction, you will not see me unless you have a special request.
