About this listing
Simple, cosy apartment in an amazing location near the Eiffel tower and museums, beside restaurants and shops.
Comfortable beds, bed linen and towels are provided, as well as wardrobe space.
The kitchen has a microwave, kettle, fridge, induction hob and oven, cutlery, dishes, glasses, etc. I don't prepare breakfast but please help yourself if I have cereals, milk, juice, tea, coffee, etc.
The bathroom has both shower and bath - the (small!) toilet is in a separate room for convenience.
Fast wifi, cable TV (French and international, English language news channels etc.), CD/DVD player, hairdryer, landline telephone.
I don't have a washing machine or dishwasher but there is a launderette and dry cleaners around the corner.
I rent one of the bedrooms (double bed or two single beds as you prefer) and sleep in the other. Living room, kitchen etc. are shared, you can make yourself at home.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to stay in my room if I'm there in the evening but I'm happy to answer any questions.
The apartment is a short walk to the Eiffel tower and Champ de Mars, rue Cler and Invalides. A slightly longer walk (still only 15-20 minutes!) to the Champs Elysees, Grand Palais and other sights.
There are great restaurants nearby (you can click on my Airbnb Guidebook for examples of these and other things to see), and all the other essentials - bakery at the end of the street (great for breakfast), supermarket, cafés, brasseries, cheese shop, butchers, fruit and veg...
The nearest stations are Ecole Militaire (metro line 8, handy for the airport bus to CDG) which is 5 minutes walk away and the RER C station Alma (which goes to Versailles for example). Paris also has bike and electric car rental schemes and city buses.
Other Things to Note
- The apartment is on the 2nd floor, with a small lift.
- The toilet is also small.
- No smoking or pets.
- Make yourself at home and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions - either in advance of or during your stay.
- I do all the cleaning and laundry afterwards, so you don't need to do anything.
Lorcan is one of the greatest hosts I've ever met. He's very kind and friendly and made us feel comfortable to stay at his place. He provided us good information around his area. There are many nice restaurants near from his place so you should try one of them if you have any chance. The location is very nice since it's very close to Eiffel tower and it was quite safe even though we went around the area until late night. I definitely recommend his place! A+
Stayed with Lorcan the past 3 days. Rented a room with 2 comfortable twin size beds. Lorcan is a great host! He was very hospitable (offered maps and food) and even waited for our arrival after our train was delayed. His place is in perfect location for all the tourist attractions and great eateries all around. You can also get away from the crowds easily. Thanks again, Lorcan ! \m/!
My 6 year old daugther and I stayed at Lorcan's place for 1 week. It was my 1st airbnb experience and I was a bit nervious. We communicated several times over email and Skyped prior to our trip. Lorcan was super helpful and prompt in answering all our questions. 1 week prior to our trip, I found out about the Bastille Day Parade and asked if I could arrive into Paris 1 day earlier so we can catch the parade. Lorcan went out of his way to accomodate this change and was there to help us when we arrived. His apartment is a short walk to Champs Elysees (15-20 mins with a child) and a nice park called Champ de Mars(10-15 mins , across the street from Eiffel Tower). We had a wonderful time watching Bastille day parade and fireworks and were relieved that we did not have to fight the metro crowd. We were also able to take a bus from his place to Montmarte (bus 82 from the bus stop on Bosque). My daughter and I also enjoyed spending time at a small park along La Seine that is also very close to his apartment (Tu....). There is a very nice bakery at the end of the street, head right when you come out of the building. We had a wonderful stay at Lorcan's apartment and hope to visit again in the future.
A couple of trade offs to note:
1. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. You will need to close the windows before you go to bed or else you will get some traffic noise.
2. It can get hot in July and like most places in Europe, there is no AC. Pack light clothes. It also helped that we had access to Lorcan's fridge.
My friend and I really enjoyed Paris during the days in Lorcan's flat. The flat has great location that you can get to many places very easily. Also, lots of delicious restaurant around. Lorcan's is very friendly and thoughtful, we had everything we needed. I highly recommended his flat.
Location is very good and convenient. The room, kitchen, and bathroom are good and comfortable. Some restaurants look nice.
I didn't see him often, but he helped me whenever I asked the way to get to destinations.
