The Monstrosity Bungalow is a nice 1200 sq/ft 2br house in South Austin. It’s very close to the corner of Oltorf and South Congress.
This house has a living room, dining room (currently serving as a second living room), a large kitchen and two bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a full size bed and the second br, has a comfortable, full sized sleeper sofa. There are three couches in the two living rooms. There is a large flat screen tv set up with Apple-TV, local stations, and an HDMI hook-up for your personal computer. There is free wi/fi available and two parking spots in the driveway. It has a large screened-in porch in the back, with a huge couch and a laundry room. The porch and laundry area are shared with others on the property, but all other areas are private. Although there aren't any animals with access to the interior of the house, there are a couple of cats that tend to like to hang out on the couch on the back porch.
There is a small efficiency apartment on a second floor above the house. It has it's own entrance. It is going to be listed here on Airbnb, sometime soon. Sometimes, you can hear their footsteps. If you want to make sure not to hear them, you can turn on the window units (even if it's just on FAN) to hide the noise.
About the nearby area...
It's in the middle of the SOCO area. It's close enough to walk or bike to the SOCO venues as well as walk, bike to the or take a short cab ride to Downtown events. It's about ¼ mile to SOCO event areas and 1½ miles from downtown. If you wish to walk to 6th St from this space, you can get there in less than 20 mins, when you're taking your time. It's about a $10 cab ride to 6th from my place.
Well behaved pets are welcome.
Located near the corner of South Congress and Oltorf St. Several bus routs run near this space which will get you all over town for about $2 per day.
The house is 4 blocks from a major grocery store, and within just a few blocks there are lots of amazing restaurants ranging from super cheap food trucks to five-star dining.
There are many neighborhood coffee shops within 5 blocks.
As a guest at the Bungalow, you will have access to :
Whole First Floor
Front Yard and Porch
Screened-In Back Porch
Half of Driveway
Sometimes, the Roof Deck on Monstrosity
Loft in the backyard will be available, depending on the rental situation of the Monstrosity Loft's second floor.
Typically, when the guests arrive, I try to be there whenever possible, or have someone else to greet guests and show them around. Also, I try to be available by phone to answer questions about the property or Austin, in general.
In most cases, I will give a free day to guests who book for 7 or more nights. (Every 7 nights for the price of 6)
Because of some bugs and glitches on the airbnb site, I just mention this here, instead of entering it in the "Weekly Rate" or "Monthly Rate" fields.
I'll send you the adjusted price in a "Special Offer"

We had an awesome weekend in Austin and staying at Tony's Bungalow! The bungalow is adorable, easy to get to from the airport ($25 cab ride) and accessible to the heart of SoCo by foot or faster by bike! It's got the charm of Austin, front and back porch, great kitchen and sitting areas!
Tony was super helped telling us about the hot spots in Austin, directing us to where we could take in the finest of the city: art, music, eats, craft beers, and scenic views! Tony was flexible with our check out time too!
Six of us spent a long weekend at the Monstrosity Bungalow, and it was the perfect place to hang our hats. It was comfortable, away from the hustle and bustle and yet close enough to everything that it wasn't a struggle to experience all that Austin has to offer. Plus, the house is close to some seriously good tacos. Tony could not have been a more laid-back and helpful host and we sincerely hope to come back!
As advertised - nice place and great location.
Host was very quick to respond and always helpful.
The bungalow was cozy and wonderful for us!
Great location and very nice and comfortable home. We enjoyed our short stay very much. And the super friendly cat was a nice bonus for us! We would definitely want to stay here again on a visit to Austin. The location is very convenient yet quiet and comfortable enough for you to "get away" and enjoy downtime.
The bungalow was a great place to stay for our long weekend in Austin. It was clean, in a nice neighborhood and a good walk from everything we wanted to do and see. I would definitely stay there again.
Great cottage, perfect location. Tony came up with bikes for us, which was made the deal, as Austin is a great biking town. Great art on the walls, nice feel to the whole place. Thanks, Tony!
Nice place, comfy couches, friendly cats. Tony was very responsive, we hit a cold patch and he came through right away with an extra heater and more blankets. Right in the thick of things, we had a great stay!
Tony is a gracious host that provided us with helpful advice and tourist suggestions. The bungalow is in a great location with treks taking less than 10 minutes to get into downtown by car.
I would definitely recommend this place!
My stay at the bungalow was great! Tony is very friendly, helpful and responsive. My situation was very hectic, as I live in Austin, but was in the middle of a stressful move. He was very flexible and understanding, which made my situation much easier. My cats even loved the place! I would recommend the bungalow to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Austin.
