Awesome private space in our lovely home in Bergen County. We've turned the basement into a studio with a kitchenette and private small bathroom. Your shower is in the shared bathroom right up the stairs. You have a table for computer use or work, wireless internet, space to prepare a meal or cook. Come & enjoy!
Coffee and tea is provided and you're welcome to use the house kitchen to make more complex meals.
Your private kitchenette includes a refrigerator, dual burner, coffee maker, toaster, sink, and kitchen tables.
Use the house at your leisure as well as the beautiful backyard.
We're in Bergen county, very close to Paramus, Hackensack, Teaneck, and near the Meadowlands.
Without traffic, we're only a 20-30 min drive to NYC, or about 40 minutes or so from the bus, which is a 2 min walk from our house.
The house is a 4 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath, with: Dining Room, Large Family Room with High Ceiling, Fireplace, Surround Sound TV/DVD System, Wall-Mount Flat Screen TV, Wireless Internet, Dish-washer, Finished Basement, Washer/Dryer, Small - Gated Back Yard. (2400 square feet.)
The backyard is beautiful, with lush grass, (or snow - depending on the season) some trees, with a deck and outside table and chairs. No kidding, it's all enclosed by white-picket-fence - HA!!! Pretty plants and flowers are all around us....
We have a nice 2-car driveway and a neighborhood that the kids can play in, ride bikes, etc. You have a free parking space if available and there's additional free parking on the street.
Inside the house we have some nice potted plants, and a couple of pretty fish tanks - for your viewing pleasure.
This is such an affordable place for what you get.
We're also very friendly, but busy as well, so we will give you all the space you need. And if you like dogs, you'll love Moxie, our sweet 15 lb Patterdale Terrier (she looks like a chocolate lab puppy!)
This is perfect, if you want your own space, while being in a beautiful home with a friendly family.
People come from all-around to go shopping near us... but we are just a few blocks away! Garden State Plaza Mall is right here, so you have great shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater. We have several grocery stores, bagel shops, ice cream shops, etc... a short walk from our home.
Probably the best feature of our place is WHERE we are...
We are "comfortably" close to NYC. It's a SUPER-EASY, and quick 2 min walk to NJ Transit public bus stop, or you can easily drive to NYC... Up to you. The bus is about a 40 minute ride (depending on traffic) and takes you straight to Port Authority. They run quite often (Bus 163)
Our neighbors are FANTASTIC. Quiet. Pretty. We are also near a huge park, with a lake, bike & jogging path, close by swimming pool, tennis courts, and several jungle-gyms for kids.
You can even rent our car, if you need it. Completely protected through Relay Rides website.
Other Things to Note
Please note this is a shared home.
We just expect you to be courteous and respectful. Please clean up after yourself and take care of our things (like be gentle on the pots and pans so they don't get scratched).
Be open and communicate and let us know if you need anything.
We work from home during the day, so please be considerate of that. Please no partying or having people over, unless we've agreed on it.
Robyn and Trevor are really nice host and their house is really comfortable and quiet! Everything is convenient in their house. The traffic is convenient too! Very easy to get to New York! Really good people and place! I had a great trip there!
Sono stata da Robyn e Trevor con mia figlia Marta e ci siamo trovate benissimo: la sistemazione è confortevole e loro sono estremamente gentili simpatici e disponibili
This having been the first time I've ever done anything like this before, I simply could not have asked for more. Robyn and Trevor are cordial, comfortable, personable and inviting. They both are hilariously entertaining and if you have a good sense of humor, Robyn and Trevor really can bring the comedy. The house is well kept and if you're worried about any of your belongings, don't be...Robyn and Trevor mostly work out of home. Plus they have a security system that even the state department would be happy to have, haha. I stayed in the basement room and was more than satisfied. You have direct access to the washer and dryer, and you have your own refrigerator. Moxie, their dog, is fantastic. She is sweet and playful and I almost took her for my own. But Robyn and Trevor wouldn't let me, haha. The house is in a pretty neighborhood adjacent to Garden State Plaza Mall and a great park with beautiful walking paths. You are within 5 miles of other great shopping centers, grocery stores and really nice eateries. Check out some of the privately owned diners and bakeries during your stay. I about lost my mind and gained some circumference indulging in these places. Just delicious. Robyn and Trevor made such a positive impact on me I'm willing to answer any questions for anyone that may want to stay at their house. I only stayed 6 weeks and I have to say by the end of it I started to miss them. Stay with Robyn and Trevor for a weekend or for an extended period of time and you won't be missing anything...they even invited me to dinner a couple of times! Enjoy your stay!
Staying at Trevor and Robyn's basement apartment was my first Airbnb experience, and it was definitely a good one! They were both so nice and gave us privacy, but were there if we needed anything. Their home was lovely, not to mention their daughter and dog, Moxie (whom we loved!).
We wanted to be able to cook a meal or two, and the space yielded plenty of room for that. The kitchenette had a full fridge, sink, all the utensils we needed, a toaster oven, and a plug-in stove with two burners - it worked out very well. (Tea and coffee were also available, though we didn't have any this time.) Additionally, Trevor and Robyn let us borrow two pans to cook with, so I always felt that I could let them know if I needed anything else.
Overall, Trevor and Robyn were very welcoming and it was a very pleasant stay. I'll be sure to contact them again when I need another getaway. Thank you!
Trevor & Robyn's home was very comfortable and they were considerate of me.
It was clean and quiet and convenient for my needs with everything as promised and I am thankful for their sharing their home.
We enjoyed a time of sharing life experiences, which was interesting-Thanks.
It was my mother's first visit to the U.S. and we were so glad to stay in Trevor's and Robin's place. We felt like our own home. Everything was thought whatever you need. Rochelle Park is a very nice town and closed to all routes. The nice couple was also very friendly and their dog is adorable! We wish to stay longer. Hope to see them again!
This was our first experience with Airbnb, and it turned out great. Robyn and Trevor were great hosts, and helped us get acclimated to our room, and the neighborhood surroundings as well. We would definitely stay there again.

We have lived here for about 2 years, and love the house and the neighborhood. We have one seven year old daughter and an amazing cute and friendly dog.
We love our home and are happy to share it with you. Whether you rent a room or the whole house, we welcome you. My sister-in-law told us about this program, and we are so grateful. We've been on Airbnb for over a year and we love it.
We typically spend about 3 months a year traveling and doing things we love. We work from home, so we are very lucky to have such flexibility with our schedule.
We look forward to meeting you.
