Bright top floor flat on a quiet residential street off Leith Walk. The double room has an en-suite shower room, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is also a bathroom in the flat. The flat has a large kitchen, which you are welcome to use, with washing machine, dishwasher, cooker and fridge-freezer (no microwave). There is also a cosy sitting room which you are also welcome to relax in. The flat has wireless broadband and BT vision TV. It is a very cosy, warm flat with effective radiators, which heat the flat in moments on a cold day.
The flat is a three minute walk from Leith Walk, with buses to Princes Street every few minutes (£1.50 single, £3.50 day ticket). Alternatively, enjoy a wander up Leith Walk - It takes about 20 minutes to reach the city centre. In the other direction, its just a short walk to the Shore, with plenty of great bars and resturants over-looking the water.
There are lots of great places to eat out on Leith Walk (within 5 minute walk of the flat). I recommend Oregano, Vittorias and La Favorita. Also, great fish and chips served at the Tailend.
For a relaxed pint at the end of the day, try Boda and Victorias or Woodland Creatures. These three great bars are all within about 3 minutes walk of the flat. There are loads more great places in the area too. For coffee try Word of Mouth and Renroc.
All bedding and towels will be provided. Basics including milk, tea, sugar will also be provided. I will also supply breakfast items including cereal, milk, toast and orange juice.
Please note that on Saturdays and Sundays check in will usually need to be after 6.30pm. Most other days, I can be flexible with the check in time.
This flat is also available to rent as a whole, to suit a group of four. Please see the separate listing for details.
Sally is incredibly relaxed and kind. I had a great time while I was staying with her and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed place to stay in the heart of Leith.
Sally made me feel really welcome and the en suite room was clean and warm. Her flat is great - full of her own lovely art ( I even bought a couple of things!) and it feels like a happening place to be. I was made welcome to use the kitchen and help myself to tea and given plenty of space while knowing I could chat.
Make sure you check out her file with listings and information about the flat. She flagged it up but I didn't look till I was leaving.
The area is interesting and quintessentially Edinburgh. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Brilliant little room in a smart, tidy flat only 20 minutes walk from the city centre. Sally is an excellent host and very friendly.
Very accommodating host. Fast responses to messages. Place as described, very clean and just what I was looking for.
Sally was very nice. The flat was very clean and the en-suite bathroom was a definitely plus. I only stayed one night, so we didn't have the occasion to get to know each other really, but Sally was very helpful for suggestions as to what to check out in Leith. Great location for those wanting an experience of an Edinburgh neighbourhood out of the city centre. An easy 1/2 walk to City Centre, but also an easy walk to the historic Leith district.
This is a strong choice for visitors. The room is not too small, has a nice window, is in a nice neighborhood, convenient (about a mile) to lots of central things including the train station, has its own spacious bathroom... And it's very clean! A friend came with me when I arrived and I said "Wow, this room is incredibly clean" and she said "I know, it's like a hotel."
I also really loved this place as a runner--there is a great running trail just across Easter Road, about 2 minutes away! Or if you don't mind some sidewalk running, it's only a mile to Holywood Park.

I love being creative - drawing, painting or doing some sort of craft. I've re-upholstered some of the furniture in the flat and one or two of my paintings/prints are on display. I work in nature conservation and try to get to the countryside or beach whenever I can - going for a paddle on a sunny day or camping/hill walking and running. I hope you enjoy staying in my flat while you visit Edinburgh!
