  • The boat was more than I expected
    Easy to be there
Michael was a very caring host; he texted me several times to be sure all was OK
    I will do this again

  • Mike was great, a really fantastic host. He'd check in frequently to make sure everything was going well, but everything was so meticulously documented that any question I had was answered somewhere. Location wise, you really can't beat it. Not your standard hotel room, but if you're in for a little adventure it's a great place to stay. Amazing view from the top deck, I spent much of my time up there!

  • Fantastic place and I very much appreciated Mike's support. I look forward to staying there in the future and recommend the boat for anyone looking for some quiet, comfort and the sea in San Francisco.

  • Location. Location. Location! Take 5 is literally located right behind AT&T Park. There are plenty of restaurants and a Safeway within walking distance I came into town for a conference, traveling by myself. Being from San Diego my biggest fear when traveling to a big city is safety. This location was perfect and completely safe! There were so many people running the embarcadero at all times that I never felt unsafe.

As far as the stay went, it was exactly as expected being on a boat. I will note that the bathroom was really nice and roomy! I was there in November so it was a little rainy and cold, but I could imagine how fun it would be in the summer time.

The checkin times are as flexible as posted. Michael was extremely understanding and helpful. It's not like staying in a hotel where you HAVE to be out by 11 or 12 then you're on the streets, suitcases and all, waiting for travel plans.

As a whole, this experience made me like the idea of booking my next stay through Airbnb.

  • Michael's boat "Take 5" is an great place to explore San Francisco from! The boat is cosily furnished and conveniently equipped and the location is excellent. Public transport and bike sharing are close by.
Michael was very helpful and concerned with our comfort.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Awesome place to stay in San Francisco, beats any hotel. Perfect location, you can take a ~30 minute walk along the bay to the touristy places, and by car you're on the main highway in a few minutes.

Michael is very nice and helpful, and everything in and about the boat makes you feel at home and at home.

  • Staying on the boat was the best part of our trip! It's a beautiful spot to explore the city from, good transport and places to walk to, and feels so snug and peaceful to return to. If you're not used to boat bathrooms the pump system takes a bit of getting used to, but it was a million times more fun than a hotel and Michael was incredibly helpful and available. Definitely recommend!

  • My stay on Fantastic view of San Francisco was great. It was very quiet and peaceful. I live in the country and the noise from the city was something that was a big concern for me at night trying to sleep. It was very close to a lot of things. The public transportation was a very short walk, right in the front for the marina. Michael was very helpful responding very quickly when the prior place I had reserved canceled on me a week before I was to leave on my trip. I felt very safe walking around later in the evening. I would recommend the boat too anyone wanting something a little different. Sitting up on the top of the boat with a glass of wine watching the sun setting and the bridge lighting up every night was amazing.

  • This boat is the place to be! If you like sunshine (which can be a rare commodity in San Fran) this is the spot that has the most in the city. If you like baseball - you are RIGHT there! If you like good food and nightlife - it is all at your door step. Need to get anywhere else in the city? You are at a nexus of trains and cabs!

I came for a conference and was worried that I would not have the same comforts a hotel offered - but I was wrong. The boat was spacious, with a full bathroom - toiletries nicely included, even a ironing board! This was the perfect place to have everything you need to be on a business trip but feel like you are on vacation! Thanks guys for sharing!

  • If you have always wanted to stay on a boat and determine what it is like, then the Take 5 is for you! The vessel is well equipped for the boating experience and is docked with a great view of the Bay Bridge. The hosts are very helpful to provide orientation about the boat and make the stay enjoyable. It is important to note that this is a 34' boat and is a unique experience.
I enjoyed the satellite TV in the Salon area and climbing up the ladder to the upstairs sitting area.
I enjoyed that the location of the boat is in a Marina right behind AT&T park. This was helpful after I attended an event I had a nice short walk to the boat. Furthermore, other transportation options are just outside the ball park. The description and occupancy notes are accurately depicted in the posting and you will need to adhere to them in order to maximize your enjoyment on the Take 5. The Marina is a "gated" community where you will receive key-cards to use during your stay. I did not have a car during my stay, therefore I can't comment on the parking, but given the helpfulness of the host, I am sure that this is a quick discussion item that can be answered. My favorite parts of the visit included sitting upstairs, watching the boats and looking at the Bay Bridge. Once again, if you have always wanted to learn about living on a boat and have a unique experience, then this is for you. Thank you to the hosts for a great stay!
