Nicely furnished and completely stocked apartment directly overlooking the beach.
This is my home! Some personal items will remain in the apartment.
14 day minimum rental. -- Absolutely No Smoking allowed and no pets! This is the place if your looking for a home away from home. This is not your typical Canary Island rental.
This apartment comes with EVERYTHING you need. If I don´t have it, chances are you will not need it!
The bedroom is equipped with a queen size 60cm high platform bed, which makes it not only easy but comfortable to get in & out and an orthopedic mattress (only 1'80 long).
The bathroom (completely renovated summer'14) now with easy access shower with a new full size washing machine (7kg), hair dryer, floor scale, etc., etc...
The kitchen is completely equipped and partially stocked with (just about) everything a kitchen should have. I like to cook so you'll find lots of kitchen knives, numerous frying pans and pots as well as lots of Tupperware and jars. Also a coffee maker, espresso pot, toaster, blender, juicer, microwave, a dutch oven (electric) and lots more.
You have a new 42" plasma TV with local as well as satellite channels, stereo w/CD, a bar and a small wine selection to chose from. There is a new white sofa set; a 3-seater and a 2-seater. You have a great view to beach & ocean from the living room as it has no curtains since one of the main features is the view. There are only 2 people living in front & facing you is their small bedroom window or their entrance door. You almost never see anyone except may be in the morning while having breakfast on the balcony as they leave for work.
On the balcony you have a patio set w/ umbrella and a clothes drying rack a cleaning supplies closet and other small storage.
You have the beach in the back and the pool in front; also a tennis court and a ping pong table are available at no charge( ping pong awaiting replacement).
Great if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of the usual
tourist areas but still want to be close enough to town. We are one of the few apartment deve
Plenty of street parking and easy access. Bus and taxi transport within
500m and the nearest shopping center is within a 5 minute ride. There
are also two mini-markets within 3 minute walking distance. You have a
selection of 2 or 3 restaurants, one directly next to us overlooking the
beach and one which I highly recommend; just 5 minutes by car.
you have the entire apartment for yourself
Interaction with Guests
as little or much as you wish; available 18/7 for you
Quiet village of Playa del Aguila (Eagle Beach) is a mix between a local small village & tourist area. Located just north of San Agustin away from the noise and commotion but still very close to everything. A few restaurants and 2 mini-markets within walking distance.
great 24 hour public transport within 500 meters.
Buses run every 20 minutes until 2 AM. Taxis are very economical; 5 € into town, 7-8 € after 10 PM.
Other Things to Note
The apartment´s electric supply is rated for 3.4 kwh as are all apartments here. This is more than sufficient as long as you do not connect the cook-top, boiler, washer & microwave all at once.
The problem arises as the new electrical meters in Spain have a circuit breaker built directly into them and is the first to trip. This meter is not located in the apartment.
As electricity rates have gone up 70% in 2014 alone, we are not able to increase the kilowatts just so that all appliances can be turned on simultaneously.
Due to extreme misuse in the past, towels that remain stained after laundering will be charged to the guest - no exceptions.
We have few house rules but rely more on common sense. We have a rules and guide book on site for more details.
Smoking in the apartment & disconnecting smoke alarm is PROHIBITED! This automatically forfeits your security deposit.
Do not leave the doors open when away, this voids our insurance policy and we will be forced to hold guests liable.
No overnight guests! No pets!
If anything should be missing, broken or not functioning, please inform us immediately on arrival; not when checking out, so that we can fix or replace it immediately.
We are not affiliated with any hotel chain or corporation! Therefore, due to past misuse of our towels we are forced to charge for any towels which are damaged or stained and not able to be washed clean.
Alexander's place is an ideal choice for a quiet retreat just a few minutes away from the bussle of the main town. The apartment is extremely well equipped and organised with a great beach view terrace, perfect to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine as the sun goes down. The apartment is a pleasure to walk into, the bed is firm and comfortable and the living room very cozy. I felt as though i had returned home every day.
The complex has a private swimming pool and plenty of sun beds even though it was for most of the time like having my own private pool. I will definately look Alexander up the next time i visit Gran Canaria.

I consider myself a mix between an entrepreneur, a hippie and a modern day nomad, as I love to travel and I do not mean in the sense of going somewhere on vacation. I love to travel 3 to 6 months at a time; learning the culture, foods and even the language of the places I visit. My travels usually wind up turning into 3 to 5 year stays. At the moment I speak 4 languages - all 90% fluently. Although I am a bit shy, I am very social and love to meet new people. After a botched hernia operation a few years ago I was forced to almost completely stop traveling.
Several years ago during the world wide economic crisis I became unemployed. I was already renting out an apartment, which I bought, to pay the mortgage; but soon started renting out my own personal apartment to help pay the rent. Tourists were always approaching me, asking me if I knew of any apartments for rent in the area. So, I soon acquired the apartment of a neighbor in order to rent it out.
My misfortune of being unemployed as well as my language and computer programming skills soon turned into a hobby. I started a (website hidden) page and partnered with a German online travel agency. After acquiring another apartment, my hobby was turning into a small part time business. Two years later, AirBnB appeared on the scene.
Today I am Managing Director of Aguycan Beach Apartments and have no time for traveling. Besides (website hidden), my own site; a bit abandoned lately and AirBnB, we are also listed on (website hidden), Travelocity, Trivago and (website hidden) as well as many other travel websites. Although I do not make a living doing this, I love it; it has become a full time enterprise for me and it gives me a bit more social contact than I would otherwise have on this island.
I wish I could turn this into a part-time legal employment and not be dependent on my father but that would mean raising the prices, a lot of legal issues & obligations and little or even no financial gain.
