Great! Easily accessible between Stowe and Smuggler's Notch. We brought a light dinner to assemble using their kitchen (the grocery store is nearby), and all the reviews regarding Margorie's amazing breakfast are spot on! Quiet, clean, comfortable, with the added touch of complimentary poofy white towels.
Marjorie and Jeff were wonderful hosts! From warm cookies when we arrived to allowing us to stay an extra night last minute, we felt very welcomed in their home. We had full access to the house and they made every effort to make sure we had everything we needed. Their giant dog, Sasha, was always happy to see us as well.
Past reviews of Marjorie's breakfasts were a big reason for us staying here, and they exceeded expectations! Every morning we had a new, large spread of amazing breakfasts.
The house itself was very accommodating. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable, the shared bathroom was nice, and there was plenty of space to relax around the house. We would highly recommend this place!
We had an amazing time! Margorie and Jeff were amazing hosts. They are both so welcoming and kind.
We decided to take a last minute snowboarding trip for Presidents weekend. We found this place on Airbnb and booked. So happy we did! The house is located very close to Smuggler's Notch and Stowe in a cute, quiet town. Our room was very clean and cozy. Margorie is a great cook and had a delicious breakfast ready for us when we came down in the morning. We just left and we're already planning a trip back!
Marjorie is quite a host. She is a great cook and knows a lot about the local area. It was wonderful to be able to stay in a comfy old New England country home and be able to leave our dog while we went out to eat. They are a kind cheerful family who were committed to making our stay seamless and happy. We would stay with them again.
Marjorie and Jeff made us feel very welcome in their home. The house is nicely decorated and our room was comfortable, as were the rest of the facilities in the house. Marjorie and Jeff are friendly hosts, and allow as much privacy or interaction as you want. Our dog, Abby, got along well with Sasha the dog and Oscar the cat, after a brief introduction. The courtyard area in back looked like it would be a welcome retreat (in warmer weather – we visited in mid-winter) after a long day, complete with lounge chairs, grills, and a fire ring.
The location is great for easy access to Stowe… about 15 minutes away. The hosts are knowledgeable of the area and can provide information as needed.
And, as others have said, Marjorie’s breakfasts are a wonderful start to the day!
Marjorie and Jeff were very welcoming and accommodating. The communication was great all through our trip. Even though Marjorie was very busy, she made sure to go out of her way every morning to make a huge breakfast spread for us.
Their dog Sasha is very friendly and well behaved. The house was clean, warm, and perfectly located between multiple skiing areas. It was also within short walking distance of the quaint downtown.
Even though we were away from our families for Christmas, Marjorie and Jeff made us feel as though we were part of their own. She even made us up some stockings with chocolates and local souvenirs!
"If you want something done give it to the busiest person you know" - Marj was a non-stop hostess while maintaining her busy life. Even though she and Jeff couldn't be there when we arrived she quickly arranged the neighbor to let us in and show us around thoroughly.
We had a very comfortable visit and felt as another reviewer said these were long lost cousins we'd never known. Her massive breakfast cannot go without mention, as well as the mastiff Sasha. Let's not forget Oscar "scampy" the orange tabby either. Our dog Russ was welcomed without fuss, given a dog bed of his own in our room, and fresh water. The room was as described and accommodated us nicely, as well as the nearby bathroom. Though it is shared with the hosts, it didn't feel that way.
We came and went and shared our day with them when we got "home" - arriving to an apple pie freshly baked one night! This is a very handy location to the NEK or Burlington equally, which was our intention.
