Giacomo was an excellent host, both at the apartment and walking about the city. He's very knowledgeable about Beirut and is the perfect guide for someone who is looking to know more about the area.
Location is great--very safe-feeling neighborhood, and lots of options for drinking and eating within a minute of the apartment.
Internet is a bit slow, but you can always go across the street to any one of the numerous bars/cafes and use theirs for free.
When you're looking for a great airbnb experience in Beirut, this is a place well worth going for.
A fabulous place to stay when you want to discover Beirut.
My host Giacomo (who looks after the apartment when Nicola is not in Beirut) is a great person who was very open and friendly.
He introduced me to a lot of different people and showed me interesting places. Which made my trip so much more than a quick superficial visit.
The apartment is located (email hidden)ly neighborhood. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. And within a half hour walk you're in downtown Beirut. At the same time, the apartment is not directly situated on the main road, which makes the apartment relatively quiet.
Although it is not all shiny and new, it is nice and clean and it has an abundance of authenticity, character and style.
All in all: I had a great time here. Will go back without any hesitation.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Nicola's apartment. We had no trouble meeting with Nicola's friend to get the apartment keys when we arrived, and the accommodations were fantastic. The apartment is very spacious and tidy. Although there is no generator and regularly scheduled power outages in Beirut, this proved to be a non-issue since the apartment is located in a central and hip neighborhood with plenty of bars, restaurants, and other sites to see. It was a great stay all around, and turned out to be the perfect place for our first trip to Lebanon.
Great place to stay if you want to discover Beirut. Clean, big, centrally located place. Flexible, kind and trustworthy hosts. I will be back!
(When we arrived, there seemed to have been a slight miscommunication. But the way they quickly solved that, was for me the proof that these people are the ones you're looking for while staying in a AirBNB home. Well done!!)
The reservation was canceled 32 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
the apartment is situated in a great location, full of bars and nice people.
thanks to Giacomo I felt like I wasn't a tourist.
he introduced me in Beirut's real life.
he and his friend Charbel treated me as if I were an old friend.
thanks a lot :)
Wonderful flat with full amenities in perfect location.
Very nice and extremely courteous host, and as a bonus also with a deep knowledge about the history of Lebanon.
Spent a week there on my first trip to Lebanon and it was the perfect solution.
Would return anytime.
Fantastic hosts, wonderful and relaxing place to calm down in a moving city. I stand some days with my husband on our first visit in Beirut at Nicola's house. He and his friend Giacomo (who takes care of guests if Nicola stays in Italy) were extraordinary patient regarding questions about details of the rooms etc before our arrival. A taxi was arranged to pick us up from the airport. Giacomo was very welcoming and helpful with just everything we could need. 30 minutes of talk with him made more sense than reading any travel guide of Beirut or Libanon. His presence made me feel at home, as well this comfortable place with it's homage to the past of the city. People who like Berlin-Neukölln, East London or Williamsbourg/NY can have a great time in Mar Mikhael. I left continuing our travel to Turkey missing this place already, wishing to return and discover more.
There are not many times that I am at a loss for words but staying at Nicola's was one of those moments for me.
My friend and I were welcomed into his home as if it were our own. Nicola was not present but his friend (Giacomo) took care of our visit with consideration and care.
Giacomo showed us Beirut, as it was our first visit to the city. The flat itself in which we stayed is not only aesthetically pleasing but is also in a wonderful location in Mar Mikhael. Bars and restaurants line the streets, as well as the lively faces of artists, musicians and tourists, as myself.
Our host introduced us to the rich history and culture of Beirut with walking tours, amazing food, and gave us too many reasons not to leave with a full heart.
