Interaction with Guests
The manager, Kelsey, believes that folks at the poolhouse will experience their best vacation in the peacefulness of the property. While she lives in the main house and will be present to help with check in and orientation, she is respectful of privacy that the poolhouse maintains. She is a text message or phone call away to giving recommendations for activities, restaurants, best beaches and/or waterfalls.
Other Things to Note
Kelsey was available and communicated really well about checking in. We were so shocked and amazed at how wonderful the property and ammenities were. The pool house is perfect for a single person or couple wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of island tourism. The kitchen is fully stocked, which allowed us to get our culinary game on when we weren't out and about. She has plenty of beach amenities, such as coolers, umbrellas, towels, chairs and much more. The property is tranquil - the pool and grotto are so lovely...and we couldn't recommend this spot more.. we would definitely stay here again.
Kelsey has such a beautiful ohana to stay in! We loved every part of our stay! Both the neighborhood and house were so quiet and peaceful. It's like we had our own private resort home all to ourselves! So much space and everything we needed at our fingertips. The pool and grotto with waterfall put relaxation over the top! She was such a lovely host and everything was as described in the listing. Perfect romantic getaway for the weekend. We will definitely do this again!!
This was nothing short of a truly wonderful stay. The poolhouse is clean, flooded with light, and has everything you could want for a vacation stay. The pool and spa (saltwater - no chlorine!) are delightful. The property is quiet and peaceful, and you will be woken by a cacophony of bird song each morning. Kelsey knows how to strike the perfect balance between being extremely communicative and helpful, while providing the utmost privacy. Highly recommended- one of the best rental experiences I've had on airbnb - and I've had some most amazing stays.
This was our 2nd stay at The Poolhouse and we can't wait for our 3rd stay! It is like having you own private resort but with your own pool and hot tub. Including all the amenities - huge kitchen, computer, large TV, everything you could want or need. Soooo comfortable - we have stayed at Airbnb's in Asia, Europe and the mainland and this one remains our favorite.
The poolhouse by far excedes ones expectations.
It is situated in the most tranquil setting.
Beautiful trees and numerous birds.
Kelsey was an amazing host. Ready with all the right answers and always available.
The house itself has everything one could desire and more.
We trully enjoyed meeting Kelsey and staying at her place.
HIGHLY recommend the poolhouse to anyone that wants to be in Waikola village.

Called 69s by the locals because it's at mile marker 69 one of the prettiest beaches in the area. Great snorkeling and calm water.
Nice sand beach. Straight beach with rolling breakers. Great for boogie boarding.
Nicest sand beach on the island. Small visitor parking lot though so go before 10 or after 2 to be sure you get a space.
Called A Bay by the locals one of the best beaches on the island. Lots of space, trees for shade and good facilities including ocean sports and lava lava beach club. Lots of turtles in the water.
A locals favorite. Outdoor seating, Good food at fair prices and Wed-Sun there's great live music from a variety of bands.
Best oceanfront restaurant on the island. Open air, right on the sand, ten feet from the water. Spectacular for sunset dinners. Right on A Bay
If you go to the north end of the island come back on this road. Spectacular views of the coast going southbound. Very pretty drive.
One of the prettiest views on the island. A must see. Horseback riding and quad bike rides in the valley are also really fun.
The other side of the waipio valley lookout. If your at Havi it's only 20 minutes further and worth the drive.
A cute little town on the northern tip of the island. Some galleries and restaurants here and also zip lining and kayak rides.
