Stroll in the exotic gardens and pick fresh organic avocado, lemons, oranges, papaya, lilikoi (passionfruit), mac nuts, and herbs. Marvel at the botanical beauty of tropical flowers and foliage. Refresh in the warm water, private outdoor shower. Indulge in AquaNirvana warm water massage next door. Or schedule a massage in the oceanfront massage studio (or in your room).

Manager and owner have lived in this area for 17 years, are very knowledgeable about local activities, things to do, places to see, tours, secluded beaches, cruising, swiming with dolphins, hiking trails, bars, farmer's markets, and sightseeing. They are available to answer questions, offer suggestions, or book massage, AquaNirvana, lava tours, waterfall tours, and other activities to make your visit most enjoyable. We have connections with gay marriage information, wedding planners, private oceanfront wedding locations, catering, flowers, event planning, permits, hula, music, and Hawaii certified marriage celebrant, reverend, performer. We offer special package rates for weddings and honeymoons.

The Neighborhood

Kalapana boasts some of the most spectacular coastline views in the world. And Kalapana is the best place to see active lava flow, by tour guide, boat tour, or coastline trail. Kaimu and Kehena Beach are clothing optional, nudist friendly. A resident pod of spinner dolphins visit Kehena beach. Hot springs, painted church, Kalapana Village Cafe, Uncles Awa Bar, Wednesday Farmer's Market, orchid farms, organic fruit markets, Hawaiian arts and crafts, are all easily accessed from Gay Hawaii Bed and Breakfast.

Getting around

The local bus comes past Gay Hawaii B&B twice a day. It goes to Pahoa and Hilo. Due to the infrequency of bus times careful planning is required. Hitchhiking is common in the area. Bike riding is also a great idea.
