Rustic and clean resource conscious home with bohemian ambience. One of a kind place full of collectibles and custom constructions/furnishings and a semi wild garden. One shared bathroom with stainless steel shower, custom tiled floor and antique fixtures.
We are a short walk to cafes, sandwich shops, the train station and the heart of town.
Small archery range, bbq set up, many decks and patios to hang out on if desired. Splendid view of the town and our famous Seven Sisters mountain range to the west.
Wine tasting, beaches, hiking (one popular hike is right outside our back gate!) and boating available as well as many musical, cultural and artistic events throughout the year.
Share your stay here with two small marvelous dogs and a cat. We welcome your well mannered animal companions but hope you will manage them.
I stress our passion for conservation, we hope our guests will be thoughtful when using our facilities. If we waste resources what will the next generations have?
Public transit 3 blocks away.

The city is now charging airbnb guests 10% VAT (temporary residents tax). Be cool if you can pay your host that upon arrival.
Conservation is very important here, especially with water use. Be very thrifty please.
Ask if you need towels or anything else, we aim to please.
Our bathroom door is always left wide open unless the room is occupied.
Male guests are heartily invited to use the 'great outdoors' for 'lightweight' bathroom use. Just be discrete.
Beautiful little house close to the train station. We were a bit disappointed with the bed; it was a full size, but not a real mattress. Also, host didn't fully answer my questions before arrival.
Room felt very private and other people in the house were very welcoming and friendly.
I'd be interested to know what you felt wasn't answered beforehand. There isn't areal mattress in the house, all the beds are more than adequate foam pads.
If I include the tax in the price we all pay airbnb more since they do a percentage, I have asked them numerous times to include this as a non fee extra in the booking, they have refused.
I mention the tax in my listing and again upon arrival in the check in note. Those who ignore all that info and don't have a dime on them might be inconvenienced by
'coming back'. In your case you were going to pay it the night before when you went out but didn't so you offered to make up for that by taking care of business at the end instead of earlier as requested. I agree it is awkward and it is the fault of bnb, not me.
Pete is a very hospitable host! His space is very artistic, colorful, and clean :)
The stay was experiential especially having a secluded upstairs room with a view of the city. Felt like a secluded cabin with your own entrance. This place definitely has history and personality.
Pete was very hospitable and friendly. Amazing guy to talk to about life and the changes of San Luis Obispo.
Pete was there to meet us and show us to our room even though we arrived a bit earlier than expected. Pete had company when we arrived, but we were so tired from our travels that we did not join him for 'spuds and salad'. We went to bed early and woke up to watch the sun lighting up the mountains across the valley from our high bed.
The place is as eclectic as described and there is much to see on the property as Pete appears to have accumulated all the things that have touched or appealed to his sense of humor over the 40 years he's been here.
Pete was very welcoming and he had lots of good advice for us to see his cute town. We arrived late (8 pm) and left early (9 am), but he was gracious even with our short stay.
The bedroom we stayed in was a small addition, accessible from outside the house. It was warmed for us and had an elevated (waist high), firm double bed with a killer view of the hills.
Pete encourages conserving water, so showers are short and men pee outside. ;)
The garden is very cool and his house has a million things to look at. It truly is a unique experience!
Pete was a kind a welcoming host, with a big personality. Stay here if you're looking for something totally out of the ordinary!

Socially liberal, blue collar person with intense love for most dogs and other critters. Somewhat travelled (Europe, Mexico, Japan), speak a little Spanish and Japanese. Passionate conservationist, artist, sort of jack of some trades.
I am pretty much a vegetarian and have simple culinary tastes. I get a lot of joy working my land and doing artistic projects.
